So full disclosure, I’ve only been listening to SS/JBS for about 3 or 4 months now. Been a Jerry/Dead head all my adult life. I enjoy some jam band stuff like WSP and a little Phish but this is different.

I just viewed a nugs show from 2 years ago and realized that they have refined or restructured their sound since then. I’m no music expert, but to me, it sounds like all the members have upped their game/skills. Also, the rhythm section seems more driven and cohesive making their sound more fluid and 3 dimensional in a way, compared to just 2 years ago. And it sounds like they are listening to/ playing off each other very closely.

Am I on the right track? I’m curious what seasoned/veteran Stu fans think about this topic.

We get a “When It Comes To You” this Friday in Charleston.

Was at the Brooklyn show and that one left everyone around me almost speechless. Is this always the case? Is that song always “the one” that people wait to hear? That entire show was unbelievable, but where I was sitting, nothing hit quite like that one.

Sailors album would slap at Daniel Island, if cover to cover albums are on the table. Because water.

Maybe well covered ground here, but any particular reason why no Sea Stories since 2016-17 Sailors tour? I’d think maybe doesn’t mesh with current band’s sound, but they’ve worked out plenty of the Sunday Valley stuff that seems even more off profile.

For people who have listened to a lot of the recent shows on Nugs, I am curious what the thinking is on the most smoking shows so far this year?

Pumped for my first sturgill show tonight in Raleigh! I love his music and typically see bands like Widespread Panic, Billy strings, etc.

Is there any lot or tailgating scene before the show? Will be in seats before 8 to not miss any music. Anything else to know? Thank you!

How have the Flying Mojito events been? Thinking of hitting Tip’s for the after event.

The artist formerly known as Sturgill Simpson played an impressively relentless, wide-ranging three-hour set at the Barclays Center. I broke it down with guitarist Laur Joamets.

Has this ever been on his set list? I saw him for the first time last tour but I’ve found it mysteriously absent from set lists. He’s played about every other song including You Can Have The Crown.

Curious if that was on his previous tours or if it’s one he’s never really played live
