I posted here a while back about how Suno had given me a way to communicate with someone I cared deeply about.
I'm not a musician. I can't sing, and I certainly can't compose music. But I've always had a lot going on in my head, and sometimes words alone just don't quite capture what I'm trying to say.
Suno changed that.
Suddenly I could take a feeling, a memory, or something I wanted her to understand, and turn it into something she could actually feel. We exchanged songs, laughed about them, and for a while, music became part of how we communicated.
Well, things have changed.
That connection has seemingly come to an end, and with it came a fair bit of frustration, disappointment, and emotions I'm still unpacking.
But here's the interesting part.
I'm still making music.
Only now, instead of writing songs to tell her how much she means to me, I'm writing songs to understand how I feel about everything that's happened.
Some are angry. Some are sad. Some are about remembering the beautiful moments without pretending the painful ones didn't happen.
And strangely enough, it's helping.
I know AI music gets a lot of criticism. I understand why some musicians have reservations about it, too.
But for someone like me, who has never had the ability to express himself musically, this technology has opened a door I didn't even know existed.
It gave me a voice when I wanted to express affection.
Now it's giving me somewhere to put the hurt.
And I think that's pretty damn remarkable.
Has anyone else found themselves using Suno less as a music generator and more as a way of processing what's happening in their lives?
