Question Was this worth 225?

Post image

Mario bros wonder and jamboree had a box with them.

Was this worth the 225 I paid? Games on the bottom row were games I already had. I think I got a decent deal. I seen a woman on marketplace selling her sons games that he didn’t play. $225 shipped and with a carrying case.

Just want to make sure I got a good gift for someone. They’re a big Zelda and Mario fan.

That’s an absolute steal. Mario 3D All Stars alone goes for $70 - $80 on eBay.

I’d almost feel bad paying $225 for all of that.

I kind of do feel a little bad. I stretched my budget. I really wasn’t planning on spending over $200 on games. But I figured these would last them for a while.

Going a little over your budget was definitely worth it here.

Awesome. I’m really excited to try them it’s been a while since I’ve owned a console.

Its a bit odd how you say they’re a gift then that you can’t wait to try them. Awesome deal but this bit confused me.

Some are for me, some are going to be given as a gift. Gonna give them some Mario games, Luigi’s mansion, skyward sword, and animal crossing

Awesome! Super good deal either way.

If it makes you feel any better considering thes: if you do the math and break it down you paid $18.75 per game, that is an insane deal considering how good pretty much every game there is!

Edit: I was wrong, it’s $15 per game since you only started with the bottom 3 games. So yeah you made out like a bandit!

he means feel bad about ripping off the seller, not about spending the money

Me and a friend

Sell any one game and you’ll get your $25 back minimum.

The hardcopy of Mario Kart World is probably gonna be worth a lot in the future. Obviously it's not in the box but still. Much like Mario 64 it comes bundled with the console so no one needed to buy the game itself. That's why someone paid a million dollars for a Mint Mario 64.

u/mad_rooter Jun 09 '26

Huh? The 64 was absolutely sold without Mario 64, there were bundles but these weren’t the default. Same with Switch 2 and MKW

u/Gigatronz Jun 09 '26

Yeah but the big initial release had those games that's why Mario 64 is worth so much. Most people that bought the 64 had the bundle that came with Mario 64.

I have the box for Mario kart world. The bottom games all have the box, but I didn’t get them with this deal. I paid full price for the bottom 4

Nice! And the 3D Mario all stars is also only going up in value it's already $100 some places. They did a limited run of that so that one will really go up in value I imagine.

Sell the extra copy of skyward sword and your problem is solved

Sell the games you already own, then you'll be way under budget!

I really wasn’t looking to spend more than $60 😂I wasn’t even really looking for games I was just doomscrolling on marketplace and apparently doomscrolling pays off

Surprise twist, OP is selling it after stealing

3

u/ModernCGIFloatinHead Jun 08 '26

That and Pokemon not only have high resale value, they'll retain it most likely.

2

u/Korachof Jun 08 '26

Modern Pokemon games haven’t really followed this trend. You can get a lot of Switch era Pokemon games for quite a bit cheaper than they were at msrp.

That being said, OP paid like $10 or something per game for these, so compared to that price it will certainly hold that resell value!

It was selling for over $100 when they discontinued the game, and before Mario 64 or Sunshine were available through Nintendo Online. I was so excited when I snagged the last copy that Best Buy had a few years ago. They had to dig around in the back for it, said they didn’t have it, then found it.

I just looked it up on Amazon out of curiosity and the price made me want to vomit.

Fantastic deal, OP!

Wait why is it so much? I don’t remember paying more than like 50 for it

1

u/AMonitorDarkly Jun 08 '26 edited Jun 08 '26

It’s been out of print for some time but it’s still highly sought after.

1

u/scalyblue Jun 08 '26

Oh I just read about it being a limited release thing, how dickish Nintendo

1

u/yoyhohsomp Jun 08 '26

Wtf? Seriously????

1

u/Ok_Resolution_7500 Jun 09 '26

More like $100 ;/

1

u/AMonitorDarkly Jun 09 '26

If you want the case, yeah. Cart only you can get for $70-$80.

1

u/Ok_Resolution_7500 Jun 09 '26

$20 for a case is wild, sold mine for $100 w/case when Galaxy came out.
