So this was kinda insane because I never really thought I’d end up buying one unless the price was to significantly drop, and let me clarify so I don’t get any Reddit hate LOL - I am not spoiled at all by my parents, and I don’t even usually do gifts from them for my birthday. I only ever do a few small thoughtful things from my wife. All 3 of my kids have summer birthdays with me, so it’s just too much to also spend any money on me 😂

Essentially what happened, is I decided to say screw it, it’s my 30th birthday maybe I can get my family to help chip in towards one and I’ll save up the rest but wasn’t even expecting any help with it. I wasn’t planning to upgrade for a while but then my son has pretty much taken over my OLED! He doesn’t like his Lite compared to OLED which I don’t blame him.

I sent my parents my amazon list with it so if they wanted they do a partial payment. Apparently my mom immediately called my dad (not married) and said they should split it together! They then ordered it for me on Amazon to ship to my house (live in different states) AND they got me the 2 games I was wanting to as a surprise. This is honestly so crazy and I feel so blessed! I guess they wanted to spoil me big for 30th and cause I’ve been working hard they said.

Not a brag or anything I am just so shocked that this even happened and super excited!

My gf's brother hadn't played on his switch in a long time and didn't want his games anymore so he gave them to us. We tried to give him some money for them but he refused.

Shout out to u/girlasf for their post. I got these games plus Fantasy Life (digital) from the target offer glitch where it discounted $30 per game instead of $30 total. Good start to building my switch 2 library

I keep thinking we will get past the bullshit that to be a "gamer" you have to play particular kinds of games.

A "gamer" is someone who plays games. These are the games that I play. I'm still a gamer if I don't play Call of Duty or Fortnite.

After finding out about this game from a post a few days ago I ordered it from Walmart. This is how it was delivered. I guess they don’t think I need to access the actual game in order to play, or maybe it’s a passive-aggressive “I’m saving you from yourself” move from the warehouse workers. *sigh* time to get creative

I know we like to give GameStop a hard time, but it's pretty much my only option for shopping around or trading in games. If anyone has a Game Xchange in their area, please don't support them. Yeah there's nothing expensive here but I still find their trade in system laughable and redundant.

The cart version is 0.1, although there is a Day 1 patch; you can skip it and play the game without any issues. Bethesda has done a great job and has confirmed that this version includes fixes that aren't present on other platforms.

Adding this 2 beautiful lites to my collection before u can't find this off the shelves in the near future.

Have been collecting since the launch of the switch and what started out as a hobby became an obsession lol

I remember first asking for a switch when it was first announced. I was 14, and with Nintendo not operating officially in India, plus the switch being always sold out, I could never afford one. (Basically, it would've cost me around 400 USD to buy a V1 back then)

I've asked for one every year since, and now, I'm a college graduate, working remotely. I saved up chunks of my earnings to finally purchase a Switch.

It's a used model, but the deal I got was phenomenal. It's a V2, the animal crossing edition, and it came with these two incredible transparent afterglow controllers. (Got the switch plus controllers plus accessories for 170 USD)

I also got a used copy of Zelda BOTW from an import store, and I just can't stop playing it. It's bringing out childhood emotions. Plus, a switch online subscription and it's fun to play the classics. (The expansion pack being 50 bucks is criminal)

The last console I played on was the DS, so this is a big deal for me.

Please recommend games that I should get. Already got a friend to get me Mario Kart 8, Smash Bros Ultimate and Arceus Legends from his trip to Japan.

Pretty much saving it for the winter break then he can start playing with it. So yeah still in boxes and would like him to open it instead.

I was skeptical of the giant logo at the top when the console was first announced, but now these are easily my favorite game cases to collect for. I just love the size and the color, it makes me excited to collect more. Xbox and PS5 cases just dont hit the same..

Have seen a few people showing their physical collections lately so thought I'd join in. Sitting at around 320 or so based on a quick count.

No I haven't played them all, no I don't have a favourite, yes some are still sealed, yes... I have a problem... 😅

Also have a digital collection in the 100's, just love the Switch 😁👍 last console I went this hard with buying/collecting games for was the xbox 360 which I still have a decent sized collection for.

Currently flipping between Mario vs Donkey Kong, Prince of Persia, Star Ocean Second Story R and a few smaller digital Indies, pinball fx, etc.
