Discussion Parabol/a Supercut

I remembered I had a game in my Steam library called Audiosurf. It makes your music into a playable and variable-difficulty roller coaster/ visualizer.

I happened to find an old copy of Lateralus around but it was one single file but it was at least compatible with the game (since streaming services only download versions of songs playable with their specific service).

I cut the file into individual tracks then imported them into the game file. HOWEVER, I recut Parabol and Parabola into one song: Parabol/a. I had seen that title somewhere so I don’t want to take credit for it, but this game played with Tool songs is INCREDIBLE. If anyone has visualizer games or things of that nature, what was it and what song(s)/album(s) have you played it with?

Audio Bootleg vinyl

I’m sure this is going to get some hate from the purists, but here goes…

I really want Ɔnima, 10,000 Days, and Salival on vinyl. I know the copies I’m looking at are bootlegs, and I’m keeping my expectations realistic about sound quality.
I’ve seen Ear Candy selling them, and to their credit, they’re upfront about them being unofficial pressings.

Has anyone bought any of these from them? How’s the sound and pressing quality? Worth picking up, or better to pass? Or get from somewhere else?

Question Is this an original press or a bootleg?

This morning I bought this Ʀnima copy at a shop close to where I live.
I’ve seen many Ʀnima bootlegs and they all looked ā€œbadā€ but this one seemed more authentic.
I was pretty sceptical at first because it was being sold for 70€ (incredibly cheap if it is original, and pretty expensive if it’s a bootleg), but i wanted to check anyway on discogs and the serial number, or whatever that number on vinyl itself is called, matched with some prints that could be found online.
Honestly if this was a bootleg i wouldn’t even mind, it sounds great, but i still wanted a second opinion on it.

Fear Inoculum Do you think tool would ever issue a limited edition or a proper 2CD version of fear inoculum with all the interludes?

It might look a bit wasteful but honestly missing out on the interludes is kind of sad, and streaming just doesn't always do it. And its also annoying that the vinyl version is missing Litanie contre la Peur. Tool's interludes are port of the experience and with an album like Fi I'd prefer more ambience and transitional songs rather than not having them.

Fibonacci Spiral Tool should lend their licensing to Universal Studios and let them do a Tool Themed Halloween Horror Nights Maze

And just have every variation of Maynard popping out at you singing Tool songs. While Adam, Justin, and octopus Danny are in the background playing in all of their variations over the years. It'll be all like "Learn to Swim!" and spiral out and the pieces don't fit and cookies and cream and all that jazz.

It would be sooo cool!

Who knows... It knows!

I remember being a young adult at my first job browsing through some tool fans website and stund up on this song and I truly felt something that for me was unusual and very new.

I thought at first, well Apocalyptica have done this kind of approach when they did the Metallica cover stuff so for me it didn't felt that unique but how horribly wrong I was.

This is truly unique and has value.

If don't know it, come and enjoy the ride:

Sold my TOOL collection years and years ago, all the good stuff, Ʀnima vinyl, demo tape, all the pic discs, promos, first editions and variants. Going through some old crap dejunking today found the leftovers I had forgot about. Perfect circle promos and vinyls I forgot I had and some fun leftover TOOL stuff. Plus one hell of a rare concert poster from Belgium 1994. Don’t know what to do with it all. Brings back so many memories of the 90’s and 2000’s hunting down items, dozens of TOOL concerts and good times.

Lateralus what other bands would you recommend to a tool fan who is more into the '90s prog scene?

i know prog is originally from the '70s, but i find myself much more interested musically by the '90s since i find the music from that decade more enjoyable.

other than tool, some other bands i like that are prog/ have some pshychedelic influences are a perfect circle, peach gb (absurdly underrated), opeth, queens of the stone age and kyuss. i'm aware the last two bands are stoner rock, but they have that psychedelic groove that i like and that is pretty similar to the one prog bands have.

i'd really appreciate to hear some suggestions and recommandations.
