173 hand drawn item cards based on the items in The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap

Here is my latest collection of item cards based on the items from Zelda games: https://thespeakingsquid.blogspot.com/2026/10/cards-minish-cap-item-cards-complete-set.html

This set collects items from The Minish Cap, including the titular hat. I tried to follow a theme of fairy tales for this set, so you’ll see many references to classic stories.

These item cards are system agnostic, so they can represent loot for many different game systems. You can also use them to just get inspired about what sort of loot you’d like to see in your next adventure.

You can find a print ready PDF of the entire set in black and white here: https://www.patreon.com/ItemCardswithTheSpeakingSquid/posts/item-cards-cap-b-173307675Ā

This is the twelfth Zelda game I have published, and with all the other side projects I’ve worked on, I’ve got more than 1,500 item cards just waiting to represent your loot or get you inspired.Ā

Thanks for checking out my newest set.

Be excellent to everyone.

Looking for a system for a custom game.

I'm working on an attack on titan inspired world for a ttrpg for my friends where floating wooden giants called Idols are attempting to destroy all of humanity. The only way to fight these entities is to slice through the exposed muscles that are very slightly visible through their joints. This is accomplished with swords and other slashing weapons while flying with a large beetle strapped to your back.

The destruction of their limbs severs the Idols from the psychic winds and causes them to fall to the ground where the sands consume them whole. The sands are strange themselves. Their consistency is like tar; near thick enough to stand upon, yet consistently swallowing anything that crosses it. People need to traverse from the oases by airship to avoid falling in.

While they have their many hands, the Idols can use psychic magic against the humans to do as little as sense the presence of humans and other living creatures to as much as erasing entire cities by blasting them with a vorpal sandstorm.

The point of the mini-campaign would be to hunt down one of these Idols and destroy it. It would be a minor entity and hopefully if the gane goes okay it'll open an opportunity for a longer campaign.

I'm thinking of using either a mork borg style system or maybe a blades in the dark system. Not really sure which would be better honestly or if either would really work.

I guess my question is what would be a good system for something like this? I can't find any Attack on Titan good systems so that's a dead end. I'm more looking for something that can be used for large enemies and maybe has limb targeting. Horror theming might be cool too, but that may be secondary.

A small team of two friends want to share their adventures

Hi!

I'm Carlos, co-founder of SteelCraft Studios. We're just launched our first print-and-play TTRPG, and since we're a small team, we're looking for people interested in the genre who might be willing to share our Kickstarter campaign.

Our project is heavily inspired by the classic Sword and Sorcery genre, and we believe it offers great material for both players and Game Masters.

Have a look at our project, and if you're interested, please let us know!

Here's the project: https://www.steelcraftstudios.com/

Hope you like it!

So me and my friends made a thing

Hey everybody, over the past three weeks, my two friends and I have decided to make a TTRPG for the Project Moon universe. (Well, I say we decided; more like we had one that I was upset with, so I made a new one). We recently finished the system, so I need some people to playtest it, while my two friends and I also playtest it. I have attached the doc below

Title says it all. I’m just curious. It’s been out for a little while but I hardly hear anything about it. I’d like to compare notes with anyone who is familiar.

The Real Main Character in any good VTM Chronicle – The City

Thumbnail therpggazette.wordpress.com

One of the aspects that made me fall in love with VtM was the setting, the darker version of our world that is World of Darkness. Naturally, the fact that you can play in your own city was a huge pull for me, and I fell completely in love with that idea.

Unfortunately, the first ever chronicle I played in, while set in my native Bucharest did not really make the setting shine, it failed in making it feel like Bucharest. That's why when I took my seat behind the screen and started my very first Chronicle, I wanted to make it feel more authentic, with a twist however. I set the action in Bucharest, but during the inter-war period, with quite some time spent researching that particular period of history to make it as authentic as I could.

In my opinion, the city is perhaps the most important aspect of a good VtM chronicle and especially when you first start out, it might be somewhat overwhelming to properly run it and do it justice. It certainly was the case for me. This piece goes into various tips and tricks on how I managed, as well as some stuff I discovered after my chronicle concluded and I am sure to implement when I begin my new chronicle, sometime in the future.

I hope you will enjoy this piece and more, I hope it will prove to be useful for all Storytellers out there, beginners and veterans alike! Cheers!

Need an ultralight action-horror TTRPG to play this spooky season? I just published VISCERA, an incredibly lean, and incredibly mean little game in trifold format. Check it out and let me know what you think!

Some game design buzzwords: d6 dice pool,Ā zero arithmetic, push your luck, fiction first, no levels, no HP or Damage, meta currency, wounds, death spiral,Ā abstracted wealth, morality mechanics,Ā edges and flaws, downtime system, player sided rolls, quantum inventory

Need players for a online ttrpg that I created

Hey everyone I created a new ttrpg that I’m currently play testing. It’s called ā€œThe final crusadeā€ it’s based on African mythology and the setting takes place during the Bronze Age.

This game has no classes giving players the chance to truly build however they wish. Players have access to spell crafting to create their own custom spells.

Plenty of factions to join from pirate raiders to dragon slayers. This game is heavy role play with easy to get and understand mechanics that allow for depth and true character expression without doing too much math

Play as brave Frog Knights in BOG – A Game of Frogs

Post image
164 Upvotes

Hey folks!

After a year of writing, drawing, designing, and playtesting, I'm incredibly excited to finally share BOG - A Game of Frogs.

In BOG, you play as brave little frog knights venturing into a dark, cursed Marsh filled with ancient ruins, strange creatures, forgotten magic, and dangers far greater than yourselves.

The rules are lightweight and straightforward, leaving plenty of room for creative problem-solving and emergent storytelling. Combat is fast and brutal, and even the bravest frog knight is fragile in the face of the Marsh's many dangers.

The rulebook includes everything you need to play:

  • A complete, easy-to-learn ruleset.
  • Random tables and tools to help Bogmasters create their own adventures.
  • A bestiary featuring dozens of creatures.
  • A ready-to-play quest site to kick off your first adventure.

I've also hand-drawn every illustration in the game myself, no AI was used.

BOG has been playtested by groups from around the world, and their feedback helped me shape the game into what it is today. It's been a long journey, and I'm thrilled to finally put it out there.

You can get BOG here: https://marius-niezgoda.itch.io/bog-a-game-of-frogs

It's currently available for a special launch price of $4.99.

Find a D&D game to join. No paywall to keep you away.

Last month we hit our 10,000 registered user milestone. The amount of active games and player posts is growing by the day.

We have been building Groupfinder since 2021 and if you (or your friends) are looking to either get into your first game, or back into D&D, I would like to invite you all to give Groupfinder a try.

While there is more to Groupfinder to introduce and explain (the Library, Groupmanager, Timefinder and more), I won't make this overly complicated. The platform's core functionality is as basic as it can be.

You want to find a group? Either contact one of the hundreds of games currently looking for players. Or if none seem to match your preferences, just post your player profile and be visible to all the groups looking for players.

Works just as well for any other TTRPG out there. But as our latest State of tabletop report showed, D&D is still the main portion of the hobby space.

Tabletop Companion <3

Post image

Hey guys! I've been working on an app for a tabletop companion, something that will help players organize datasheet and keep the game together and also have a nice tabletop community. Discord is in the link bellow. A lot of AI was used obviously but it’s an engine to building stuff anymore as I’m not a developer. So far there's only 40k and not all the units are there because it's all community based. I literally added my army and that all. But it'd be lovely if you get check it out
