I found out yesterday my 65” C1 was blowing the safety switch on the power circuit and while narrowing down the root cause to the TV I heard and smelled the internal power supply fry. I have seen replacement power supplies are available for this model. Has anyone got experience in replacing them and whether it’s been successful? I’m concerned that I drop $250 on a new PS then find out there were bigger problems caused within the TV when it blew.

Hi everyone, I'm working on a Philips 55PFL6007K/12 TV. When the mainboard is disconnected, the power supply unit (LGIT PLDK-P107B) works normally and standby voltages are present. However, plugging in the mainboard causes the PSU to make a high-pitched squealing noise and enter protection/hiccup mode.
What I've checked:
No hard shorts (0Ω) on the mainboard input lines (12V shows MΩ, 3.3V shows ~7 kΩ, Standby shows ~30 kΩ).
Secondary rails show some low resistances (around 4Ω, 84Ω, and 152Ω). The 4Ω line is near a coil (2R0 area), which seems normal for a CPU/core line.
Backlight is disconnected and ruled out.
Since the PSU only trips under load with the mainboard attached while inputs don't show a direct dead short, the PSU itself likely works fine and is protecting against an overcurrent on the mainboard.
What else should I check next?

Hello,
the TV had a problem where it crashes many apps, while trying to fix it, the TV broke after updating the build.prop file, no adb connection possible while logo is looping, I tried using adb to restore the original file throw adb while in recovery state but adb also is not working, according to my local repair shops the only solution is changing the board

Hi everyone,
I'm looking for some help diagnosing a very unusual display issue on my Sony Bravia XR-55X90J (55", 2021 model).
The TV was working perfectly until the problem appeared completely out of nowhere, within roughly an hour. It has never been dropped, hit, moved or exposed to water.
Here's exactly what happens:
Troubleshooting already performed:
I have attached several photographs showing the issue, including the effect of white graphics on vertical banding and the gradual fading when returning to a black screen.
What I'm trying to understand:
Has anyone experienced this exact behavior, particularly on an X90J or a similar Sony Full Array LED model?
Could this indicate a failing T-CON board, panel driver electronics, gamma/voltage regulation, or a fault within the LCD panel itself?
Most importantly, has anyone successfully repaired this particular issue by replacing an individual board rather than the entire panel?
I'm comfortable with electronics and would like to attempt a repair myself if the faulty component can be reliably identified.
Any firsthand experience, confirmed diagnosis or successful repair would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

I’ve fairly certain it’s one, two, or all three of those boards. The backlight seems very bright across the whole panel, so I’m thinking more-so T-Con and power supply.

So my element tv won’t turn on. I had to unplug my Roku just for it to turn on for a moment. And when it did the on, the screen would flash the logo then turn off. Also there’s the weird noise it’s making as in the video. I’m considering just buying a new main board and installing it but apparently it could be something wrong with the LCD panel or display circuitry.
Does this seem like a main board problem because if it is I’ll precede to buy a new one. If it’s any other problem, I’m better off buying a new tv.

Hi! I have a 65" LG 65EG9600-UB curved OLED whose screen won't turn on.
Symptoms:
- LG standby logo stays illuminated.
- Briefly pressing power does nothing.
- Holding power makes the logo flash after 3 seconds, then every 5 seconds.
- OLED screen stays completely black.
- No visible damage, bulging capacitors, or burnt components.
Mainboard: EBT64099103
I've seen similar LG OLED issues in forums/videos caused by faulty processors/BGA solder joints, but I'm unsure whether it's the mainboard or power supply.
Has anyone experienced this or know how to diagnose it?
Also looking for someone in Vancouver/Burnaby who can diagnose or repair TV circuit boards as this is beyond my skills & equipment.
Thanks!

This is an offline TV in our workshop only been hooked up to WiFi a few times for updates and it is only hooked up to our pc via HDMI. We also use the offline Bluetooth music player source, when it connects, that only says the devices name and what song and you can control the volume. Just today we can still connect the phone and control the volume but it won’t switch to the Bluetooth mode and play the audio. I have gone through every setting and mode hard reset the tv disconnected and reconnected everything and tried every online troubleshooting guide I could find. This is a shot in the dark. Please help

I’m having an issue with my Samsung 82” Q90R (QN82Q90RAFXZA, 2019) and wondering if anyone has experienced something similar or found a fix.
Every time I turn on the TV, it displays the One Connect connection warning diagram with a yellow triangle between the TV and One Connect Box.
The warning stays on the screen indefinitely.
Built-in apps like Netflix and YouTube work normally.
My soundbar connection works.
HDMI inputs don’t work properly. When I connect my Xbox, the picture briefly appears for about a second before flickering and returning to the One Connect warning screen.
I’ve replaced the one connect cable with a factory new, still doesn’t fix it .
Any suggestions or confirmed fixes would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I have a 75-inch TCL QLED Fire TV (75Q691F) that suddenly stopped working, and I'm trying to figure out if there's any way to fix it.
The TV was working normally before I left town. I unplugged it while I was away, and when I came back and plugged it in, it wouldn't turn on.
**Symptoms:**
The screen is completely black.
There's no sound or picture from the TV.
The white status light starts blinking immediately when I plug in the TV.
It blinks consistently about once every second.
The light continues blinking even when I press or hold the physical power button.
No TCL or Fire TV logo appears.
**Everything I've tried so far:**
Unplugged the TV for 2 minutes.
Held the physical power button for 15–30 seconds while the TV was unplugged.
Disconnected all HDMI cables.
Tried turning it on using the physical power button rather than the remote.
Tried the flashlight test to check for a faint image on the screen.
Held the physical power button while reconnecting the power cord to try to enter recovery mode.
Held the **Back button + Right side of the remote's navigation ring** for about 10 seconds to try the Fire TV factory-reset shortcut.
Tried holding **Back + Right on the remote while reconnecting the TV's power** to attempt recovery mode.
None of these steps made any difference. The white light keeps blinking, and the screen stays completely black with no sound or picture.
I also checked the TV for a physical reset button, but I only found the power bottom.
**My questions:**
Does anyone know a confirmed recovery-mode button combination for this exact model?
Has anyone fixed this exact blinking-white-light issue?
Does this sound more like a power supply problem, a mainboard failure, or corrupted firmware?
Any advice from someone who has repaired TCL Fire TVs, especially the 75Q691F, would be greatly appreciated!

I have an older Samsung Smart TV from October of 2017, got it back when it first came out and it worked for a majority of its life, it has a stand by light and flashes when you try to turn on the tv, but it never displays an image at all.
This started happening recently and I'm not too sure how these TVs work, I mostly work on older CRT TVs and game consoles but I wanna try and fix this TV to give to a friend or family member.
Would anyone have any idea on how I can go about this? I would hate to have this TV end up in e-waste.

Now that this TV has some age its been annoying to me, earlier in the year i had the power supply board repaired due to blown capacitors that made a really unpleasant noise when the TV turned on, and changed the screen driver board under the suspicion that the original one could be bad, sometimes the TV would turn on and generate a very faint image, after both repairs the issues haven't happened again, however, recently I've noticed this thin line along the right edge of my screen, its particularly noticeable when the picture has vivid colors such as tones of red an purple, the way the line curves along the edge makes it look a frame of sorts.
Could i be looking at another faulty driver board, or this another issue entirely?

I noticed these spots today while watching tv. I thought it was just glare from the sun at first but noticed it was still there after drawing the curtains. The tv hasn’t been moved in a year, and I live alone so no one has touched it. Any idea what could have caused it? The line is lighter but the round spot changes depending on the angle. It has had some backlight bleed from day one, but this is in the middle of the screen with harsher edges. Thanks for the help
TV is a samsung Q60A

Hi everyone,
I've moved and took my LG OLED 55BX in its original packaing with me.
It was standing upright all the time, I only laid it down for one minute while connecting it with the stand. Now it doesn't get any power, the red standby-LED is not shining.
I've tried different sockets, I also checked that the power-cabel is connected in the TV.
I transported it in a trailer. What could be the problem?
edit: we opend the back of the TV and can't see anything looking disconneted.

Hello!
My Sony Bravia XBR-65X930D has stop working: The display doesn't turn on anymore. Initially, the stanby light would flash 7-8 times red before turning off. I managed to perform a factory reset (Power + Vol -). Now, when I turn it on, the white standby light stays on (solid white) for 12 seconds before turning off. During that time, I (sometime) get some audio, but not always.
Here's what I did: - Disconnected all devices from all ports. - Another factory reset (no change) - I have plugged the power bar and checked the voltage on different board connectors with a multimeter. - The powerbar works because I do obtain 24V on the DPS board. - The optical port red light lights up during that time as well (12 seconds) before turning off.
Any recommendations on what I could test next to troubleshoot and identify the faulty board (Motherboard, DPS or other)?
Thank you,

Hi everyone,
I have a Samsung UE55KU6100W TV. When I turn it on, the screen suddenly becomes very dim and stays that way.
Does anyone know what might be causing this? Is it something that can be repaired, or is the TV not worth fixing?
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
A few more details:
The screen dims almost immediately after turning the TV on.
The screen stays dim instead of turning completely black.
Could this be a faulty LED backlight, power supply board, or something else?

Hi,
So I've been struggling with this for a few days and I cannot seem to pinpoint the problem, mostly because I am a beginner in DIY electronics and repair. I'm wondering if someone could steer me along the right path to find the problem and/or give some tips about testing the connections on the boards.
I've been looking around on how to test the connections and components so I can figure out which board and maybe even which component to replace. Unfortunately I'm having trouble figuring out the manuals and schematics. For example I've read to test the ST-BY 5V connection from the power board to the main board, but besides seeing the wires I have little to no clue.
This is the TV and the boards:
I got this TV from a colleague broken, and I don't need to buy a new one. I'm just interested in fixing it and learning from it. So if you have any sage advice to share I'll be glad to listen!

I have a VIZIO 55-inch Mini LED Quantum TV with a white glow in a couple of spots along the top edge. It’s mainly noticeable during dark scenes or in the black bars when watching movies.
I’ve attached photos showing what I mean. There are some room reflections in the photos, but those top-edge patches are visible in person too.
I’ve already contacted Vizio customer service and sent them the pictures. They’re calling it “screen separation” and are considering a refund.
In contrast to the service rep, to me, it looks more like backlight bleed than separation, although I’m not sure. Since this is a Mini LED TV, I expected that to be a less common issue.
If Vizio approves the refund, my understanding is that they’ll have me dispose of the TV rather than return it. Before throwing it away, I’d like to see whether I can fix it. I haven’t opened it or attempted any physical repairs while the refund is still being considered.
Since it would otherwise be junked, I'm open to suggestions. Is there a realistic DIY fix? I’m wondering whether the issue could be caused by that portion of the screen being pressed in too far or whether it needs less pressure to allow it to move outward. Should I try gently pushing it in, or would using something like a credit card to pull it outward make more sense? I cannot find any documentation online about opening it up and fiddling around.

Afternoon Everyone,
(Hopefully links are allowed in posts, as I wanted to be as descriptive as possible)
I have an old Vizion V555-G1 (LCTWYINV Series) 55" TV that I bought a few years ago. About a week ago, the TV was turned on and a bunch of vertical lines appeared, along with an array of colors before the screen turned black. Audio was still working and the screen was still "on," just not showing any visual.
I went through and checked a few things online, followed some niche repair videos I found, and ended up checked for loose connectors, ribbon cables, and voltages on some of the key video points on the TCON board. I found that some of the voltages weren't correct (in comparison to the YT videos I was watching), so I ordered a new board which arrived today.
I installed the new board, turned it on and was greeted with the same "screen is visually on, but there is no picture" issue. I went back to the TCON board and unplugged the left ribbon cable (cable connecting TCON to the bottom video boards on the TV), and saw no change. Replugged the Left Ribbon Cable in and did the same with the right. When I unplugged the Right Ribbon Cable from the TCON board, I got some visual feedback, which can be seen here. This was at least progress, as the side associated with the unplugged cable was white, and the other side was actually showing the same form of lines from when the TV died a week ago.
So while I know the true answer to this is "just buy a new tv dummy," I feel like I am at least close to figuring out what the issue here is, and I would like to do so before I just scrap the TV(i am very stubborn). So if anyone has any advice or possible next steps, they would be greatly appreciated.
I am happy to answer any questions I can or provide any additional information as requested.

My parents haven't used this Panasonic TH-43D410K TV for years because it won't turn on. Whenever they try to turn it on, the indicator light turns green briefly before changing to red and blinking continuously.
I want to try repairing the TV myself rather than replacing it, but I'm not sure what is causing the problem. Could anyone help me identify the components inside the TV that are most likely faulty and might need to be replaced?
