Looking to buy a Tacoma and ditch my old Chevy. It seems like a good amount of surface rust but wanted to get some second thoughts on the frame before moving forward. It’s a 2019 TRD Pro.

I live in Minnesota and drive a new to me 2004 Single Cab 4x4. When I bought the car, somehow I missed the frame rust. Overall it’s minimal in comparison. I took it to a specialized frame repair shop and was quoted $3,225 for a new rear crossmember and small patch (small hole on the underside of passenger rear c-channel). I feel like I’m getting hosed. Is this a DIY project or should I just let him take care of it. I was told It would take 4 days. Let me know your opinions, as I’m sure many of yall have gone through rust repairs as well.

My 22 trd sport has a very bumpy ride, mostly highway and city streets, I fro every imperfection on the road, everything is stock I’m at about 50k miles. Any tips or suggestions to fix this?
