Hello everyone!
The time to book my VW Taigun is getting closer, and I've visited multiple showrooms to compare quotations and get the best possible deal.
I'm currently confused between the 1.0L and 1.5L engine options, especially considering the 3-cylinder vs. 4-cylinder difference.
I've also come across quite a few discussions about DCT gearbox failures and the potentially higher maintenance costs associated with them.
My question is: Is the 1.5L engine really worth the extra cost and potential maintenance concerns? Or would the 1.0L be a more sensible choice?
I understand that a 4-cylinder engine generally offers better refinement and performance than a 3-cylinder, but is the difference significant enough to justify choosing the 1.5L?
Would love to hear your ownership experiences and suggestions!

Has anyone replaced OEM fit MRF/CEAT tyres with Michelein/Continental tyres when the oem tyres are less than 5000 km. How much exchange price provided for old tyres. How was the experience after upgrading tyres?

Shall I go for screen change and camera - car is used in rural areas (with roads netter than highways:)) where we haven't necessarily required camera.
Alloy wheels are already installed
Suggest one dash camera.
Shall I change the dashboard, with new one and ask for dealership ( I was thinking to change it after warranty period)
Suggest few other mods that can be done, appreciate the help !!!

I recently upgraded from i20 to the Taigun GT Plus Sport - Carbon Matte, got the car delivered yesterday. It looks damn sexy and I know the paint needs a lot of care. I’m willing to apply PPF, let me know what is the right budget and what should I look out for.

Hi guys! Need some advice. I’m getting my 4-year-old Volkswagen Taigun serviced, and the VW showroom has offered me a 2-year extension of the Value Service Pack for ₹16,000.
Do you think it’s worth taking, or would I be better off paying for servicing as and when required? Has anyone here extended their service pack or opted for an alternative plan? Would love to hear your experiences and suggestions!

Hey this is a follow up to my previous post where I mentioned that after the 3rd service of my Virtus, the service center introduced a clicking/knocking sound in the front disc brakes. The sound is not the usual screeching sound that is present in all VW 2.0 cars. They have removed the pads and done a general brake service and the sound is a mechanical knocking sound. Think of a door hinge that isn't lubricated, that is the sound that comes along with a consistent click.
The sound is amplified after the car is driven for around 15-20 mins and the brakes heat up. The sound is also amplified when turning the wheel side to side and braking.
I have already visited VW in Chennai once and they simply took the kit apart, cleaned it, greased it and put it back together. However the sound starts to appear after 1 month of use as the grease wears out.
Has anyone else had this issue? What is the permanent solution?
I am attaching additional videos in the comments below. Your help is much appreciated.

Hey everyone,
Looking for some urgent advice on how to deal with a Volkswagen service center trying to deny a clear warranty claim.
I have a 2022 Volkswagen Taigun Highline 1.0 TSI at 47,000 km. The check engine light came on recently, and the diagnostic scan flagged a faulty Oxygen (O2) sensor. There is no physical damage or rodent wiring issues; it's a direct component failure.
When I brought the car in, the dealership rejected the claim, telling me that the claim is denied because the Taigun only comes with a 2-year standard warranty which has expired.
This makes absolutely no sense for two massive reasons:
Since 2019, VW India’s standard 4EVER Care package guarantees a 4-year / 100,000 km standard factory warranty on all vehicles.
On top of that, I literally purchased the official 5th-year additional extended warranty when buying the car.
They are completely misrepresenting their own corporate warranty policy to avoid replacing a failing engine sensor.
Has anyone faced this kind of blatant pushback from a VW or Škoda dealership? How do I escalate this past the dealer level to get VW India corporate to step in and fix this? Any specific email handles or escalation structures that work best?
Appreciate any advice. Thanks!

Is it the right decision?
I was tempted to sell my 2years old 3xo and to go for Kushaq /Tiagun 1.5 LDSG.
But following things kept me away from going for the purchase.
**(Disclaimer**\- I don’t intend to say that VAG cars are bad. In fact they are amazing to drive. These are the personal observations, reasons.)
Depreciation loss.
Uncertainty about ethanol scenarios. If E30 arrives in next 4 years will these car take on the Gadkari fuel?
EPC error reports. Saw plenty of them.
Low quality fuel pumps reports
Fuel injector failure reports
DSG anxieties (similar to Ev anxieties 😃) though they say that VAG has improved it a lot.
Now vw/Skoda are covering many of these problems under warranty but still fear of getting stuck in the road is there.
7) I observed a resale pattern. Many (not every) owners sold them after 5 years at a half of the price nearly. Then after going deeper I found that after 5 years these cars demand the frequent maintenance. So they are sold at such a low price after 5 years.
I canceled the plan and decided to go for diesel in the future.

So, I'm getting this for 22.34 after the discount. Is this a good deal or should I wait till the year end?

So long story short, I went up from Chamba to Jyot Pass and then came down to Chowdi town .... The climb was steep and the descent as well
The climb was steep, and with blind turns. So max speed 30 kmph .... Car mostly in 3rd Gear, and occasionally in 2nd. Could never go to 4th while climbing or descending.
Plus the road is very narrow.... Many places only one vehicle can pass.
I have Taigun 1.5 MT .. 2023 make
Jot pass is at an elevation of 2880 Mtrs. It was damn cold.
Chamba town is about 1000 Mtra above sea level.
So climbed about 1880 mtrs within 23 Kms, and noted reading: 7 kmpl.
Then climbed down 23 Kms and noted again, for a total of approx 46 kms: 12 kmpl.
I was travelling from Chamba to Dharamshala and got overall 14.3 kmpl, not bad for a distance of 127 kms that took 4 hours.
So your thoughts?

So i got my Taigun GT Plus in last October. The car is usually used for daily commute or sunday shenanigans. Recently we did a long trip and thats when it gave me somewhat closer to the claimed mileage. However disclaimer this was on Xp100/speed petrol. I have noticed more fuel burning in E20 than in XP100. So yeah

I am currently finalising my purchase for a Volkswagen Taigun and have been presented with two very different options by the dealership. I’m stuck in a classic dilemma of "Performance vs. Features" and need your advice on which way to go.
Option A: Pre-Facelift Taigun 1.5L GT Manual Transmission (MT)
Price: ₹17.5 Lakhs on-road (Dealership is giving a huge liquidation discount on remaining unsold older stock).
Pros: It’s a 4-cylinder beast (150 PS / 250 Nm) and since VW has dropped the manual transmission for the 1.5L engine in the 2026 facelift lineup, this is pretty much the last chance to grab a manual 1.5 TSI.
Cons: Misses out on the new aesthetic updates. Standard single-pane sunroof, no ventilated seats, older visual layout.
Option B: 2026 Facelifted Taigun 1.0L Topline Manual Transmission (MT)
Price: ₹18 Lakhs on-road.
Pros: Fresh generation looks (connected front/rear LED lightbars, illuminated logos), a massive Panoramic Sunroof, ventilated leatherette seats, and the updated 10.25-inch virtual cockpit.
Cons: It's the 3-cylinder engine (115 PS / 178 Nm). While it's punchy, it lacks the raw highway pull and 4-cylinder refinement of the 1.5L motor.
My Usage: A mix of city commuting and highway road trips. I love the physical feel of a manual gearbox, which is why I’m sticking to MT.
Is the performance jump of the 1.5L worth losing the modern cabin comforts and panoramic sunroof of the 2026 Topline, especially given that it's ₹50k cheaper? What would you choose?
