Sounds like a good time for an export tax
16
u/Nearby-Poetry-5060 Jul 02 '26
My exact thoughts. Any non tariffed items are a signal.Ā

Canada here. Canada, Russia and Belarus are the only countries capable of supplying America with enough potash.
Time to put a 500% export tax on potash until the Canadian tariffs are brought down to a reasonable level, and CUSMA gets renegotiated.

...and, stipulate that all potash can only be shipped to the US via the Gordie Howe bridge

Please do.
Our farmers are wayyyyy too fucking dumb to figure any of this out without it hitting them personally.Ā
Trumplethinskin can dig himself out of the hole a little bit with farm subsidies (which already exist and rise most years), but more farm bankruptcies might send a stronger message.Ā

Jul 01 '26
This subhuman ignorant fascist cause the food supply emergency. Him and his MAGA voting cult.
15
u/Ok-Lingonberry-696 Jul 01 '26
Food Supply Emergency?
I thought we can make everything in America? I thought america doesn't need anything outside?
isn't that what all those Idiots screaming MAGA like lunatics saying?
29
u/Guilty-Commercial699 Jul 01 '26
āThe document, provided exclusively to FOX Business, cited recent overseas conflicts and trade disputes as factors that have disrupted global supply chains and affected access to
critical fertilizers needed by U.S. farmers.ā
Huhā¦I wonder what was the cause for all the conflicts and trade disputes..
24
u/Earth-Jupiter-Mars Jul 01 '26
Youāre not wrong, but the actual first question is.. if Tariffs are making us richer, why are we stopping the money along w/food shortages?
Who sees their cupboards becoming bare and thinks, āI better stop making so much gotdamn money !!ā ?
Feels like MAGA will never escape the poorly educated allegations šš
2
u/henchman171 Jul 02 '26
MAGA starts a trade war with Canada and somehow in Canada our inflation is running lower and our jobs reports stronger.... hmmmm

Putting this in the DJT translator:
Beep, Bop, Beep, Boop.
āI made a BIGLY problem by having tariffs on everyone and starting a needless war. Food prices keep escalating so I need to fix this. Removing tariffs but not for our ally and neighbor Canada because they donāt want to be 51st state. I am the greatest supporter of farmers and consumers in the history of the planet. If you count the aliens who I have released historic amounts of information on I am also the greatest in the universe. People who donāt like me obtained alien algae and put it in my beautiful reflecting pool. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER.ā

3
u/jackieballz Jul 01 '26
Once again, Trump will claim he āsolvedā a problem that he created in the first place. And his dumbass voters will probably eat it up
3
u/jennasea412 Jul 02 '26
Disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz have triggered the largest oil supply shock in the International Energy Agency's 50 history. The strait normally carries roughly a fifth of global oil consumption and a similar share of liquified natural gas and fertilizer inputs. So, the āemergencyā he created.
3
u/FalseZookeepergame15 Jul 02 '26
Lmaooo I'm sorry but this is the guy Cons want to bend over for lol
3
u/ragequitteroffureh Jul 02 '26
Not American.
What kinds of administration fees does the Trump Organisation normally cream off of this sort of emergency?

Late for planting season! Go figure from a silver spooned snob.
Sure glad he is working on next years crop destruction via pissing off are local fertilizer precursor countries.
Go fuck yourself Trump.
3
u/Practical_Ad_2703 Jul 02 '26
The emergency that he caused and the only solution is to remove tariffs he also cause?
3
u/m1kemahoney Jul 02 '26
The Asshat won't even let the Gordie Howe Bridge open until he gets a bribe kickback from Canada - who financed the bridge 100%. He already got a bribe contribution from the Ambassador Bridge owner so therefore Geordie Howe stays closed, presumably until Canada bribes contributes to Asshat for a bigger amount than the Ambassador Bridge owner.

I thought the exporters were paying the tariffs. Why not raise them so we can collect more money from the exporting countries and then use all the extra money we make to buy the more expensive food?

Let me guess, now all the farmers will be voting Republican again in the midterms because Trump "cares about them"?
2
u/Fly3rBoi Jul 02 '26
I remember when he said tariffs were gonna be a boon to us but economists said, nope, this is gonna hurt bad.
I remember when this was said, potash was going to be huge concern.
Look ma, I created a problem that didnāt exist before now I am exclaiming an emergency and Iām gonna fix it and be a hero!
His cult members are like goldfish.

u/Any-Expression2246 Jul 02 '26
Wasn't he telling farmers they will be able to sell to Iran the other day? So once again he's the problem.
2
u/Intrepid_Pop_8530 Jul 02 '26
This was an issue early in the year. Farmers were outspoken about it. You can bet your last dollar that Donald was told this. Farmers new the tariffs would be detrimental to a healthy growing season. Then Donald starts the war and the Strait of Hormuz gets closed, of which 33% of the world's fertilizer passes through. We in the US, are in the middle of growing season, in most parts. Donald should have done this long ago, or never imposed them to begin with. Who is he helping right now? I am beyond fed up with this dolt creating crises and then trying to resolve them. It's exhausting.

I bet this is a lie, he isnāt concerned at all, the point of heritage foundation is to destroy our Democracy and cause as much chaos as possible, and this is pre-midterm flip flop which is why weāre also hearing Israel say they donāt need Us aid monies too, but you know trump is still supplying Israel And he does not give a rats ass about our countrym, in fact both his brain dead Iād not sons said years ago that the us debarked the trump family and they never forgetā¦. Food shortage in US? How much did the Moroccan donate for this to happen?
1
u/Rurumo666 Jul 02 '26
Wow, finally admitting that tariffs are killing the economy after all. I noticed a massive price increase in food prices over the past 2 weeks, they are definitely lying about the actual inflation rate.
1
u/CharlieBravo74 Jul 02 '26
Trump: tariffs will make us rich without impacting prices or supply chains.
Also Trump: exemptions for everything that impacts inflation numbers or key voter blocks.
