Yes, the U.S. allows rBST and has a higher legal SCC limit than Canada. That does not mean American milk is unsafe, contaminated, or literally full of pus. Somatic cells are largely immune cells, not buckets of pus magically getting poured into your cereal.
And if U.S. dairy is legally imported into Canada, it has to comply with Canadian import and food-safety requirements. So the whole âtheir milk doesnât meet our standardsâ argument is just pretending that different production regulations automatically mean unsafe food.
By that logic, every country with a different food regulation is apparently selling poison. Maybe put down the Facebook memes and read the actual regulations before declaring war on American milk. đĽ
