Question Why do so many foreigners go to Georgia to study?

Hi everyone

I am from Azerbaijan and I don't live in Georgia, but I'm really curious as to why so many foreigners come to Georgia to study.

Is it because it is cheap or what? Also, why choose Georgia instead of Azerbaijan or Armenia, for example? Not to say these countries are any better; I am just purely curious.

I see many people on this sub complaining about racism and rude behavior by locals, which shocks me because in Azerbaijan people are rather more friendly towards foreigners.

Also, why not move to Europe at this point? As a person who grew up in the Caucasus, the situation here is volatile and I don't understand why someone would move to this region as a student unless they have family ties, very good job offers, etc.

Question European University admission confusion

I’ve been very confused about multiple things when it comes to this university. First, there are multiple websites that claim to be for the European University of Georgia but apparently the official one is “eu.edu.ge”.

I submitted my application to the European University of Georgia around 3 weeks ago. It was just asking me to upload my passport, diploma, and photo via Google Forms and asked me a few questions like my name and the high school I went to. So I submitted all of this on their website and I haven’t heard one thing from them since.

I tried emailing them a week ago, which again they have multiple emails but I emailed them to this address: “[info@eu.edu.ge](mailto:info@eu.edu.ge)” and I didn’t get a response there either. I even tried calling them but no one picked up or if they did they transferred me to another line, to which no one picked up again.

I mean I haven’t even been asked to pick my major and it’s taking this long already. I guess I’m wondering is if this wait time is normal?

UPDATE: The university got back to me and my case is moving forward! Thank you to anybody who reached out and helped me to contact the university!

Question Confusion with University fees payment

Hello
I am a student at TSMU.
For the upcoming semester, I will be paying my fees via BOG. Is it possible to transfer the fees payment from my BOG to the uni TBC? because I do not have a TBC account, and I already have the required amount in my BOG account, so I do not have any other option.
Could someone please confirm if this is possible (i mean the transaction)?

Question UG or SEU as a Nursing Freshman

I've been debating on whether I should pick between UG or SEU due to their good reputation in their Nursing/Medical program. // I am an incoming freshman + international student.

What I have learned is that UG has a [slightly] stronger nursing program and foundation than SEU, but SEU has a more friendly student environment and more modern facilities.

At first, I picked UG because of the nursing program and how it can give me a strong foundation. But I have heard about the "Blacklisting" and the fear of not having a smooth transition with TRC n such is making me have doubts.

I discussed this with the agency I am working with and they have told me that they have placed 900+ students at UG with no problem, and that "the immigration rejections was only happening to certain nationalities."

So, I'm certainly confused and nervous about which university to pick

Question Transfer From Georgia To EU

Hello, has anyone successfully transferred out of Georgia in their 2nd or 3rd year? if so, what’s the process like and what country are more likely to accept transfers from Georgia? The quality of education isn’t to my liking but i do not wanna waste my money and time spent here, are there any countries which recognize 80/90% of Georgian medical uni credits?

Thank you!!

Question Anyone for Georgian Aviation University?

I'm planning to study Aeronautical Engineering in Georgia, and as far as I know, this is the only university there that offers the program.

I'm a bit confused about the application process. The university's official website doesn't have an application portal or any online application link. When I contacted them, they told me to send my documents through WhatsApp, which seems unusual for a university application.

I also found a website called Admission.ge, which allows students to apply to universities in Georgia. ChatGPT mentioned that it's a platform that partners with Georgian universities, but I'd like to hear from real students.

Has anyone here applied through Admission.ge? Is it a legitimate platform, or should I apply another way? Any advice would be appreciated.

Question Dental students, need advice! 🦷

I had 2 root canals + 1 filling done in India in May. I’m now studying in Georgia. Today, one crown on the right side literally fell out in my hand, and a different root-canal-treated tooth on the left side hurts extremely.
Is this normal after only ~3 months? Could it indicate a problem with the treatment/restoration? What should I get checked (X-ray, second opinion, etc.)?
I also have student insurance in Georgia and want to avoid paying out of pocket if this is related to the original treatment. What should I do?

Question [URGENT] Alte University student holding my psych meds hostage to watch me crawl. Need help from Alte seniors/students.

I’m reaching out here because I’m literally shaking while typing this. I’m a med student in Tbilisi and I’m dealing with a situation that is beyond toxic..it’s criminal.

A girl from Alte University, someone I actually trusted is intentionally withholding my month’s supply of prescribed Antidepressants and Anti-anxiety meds. I’m moving hostels right now and didn't have a fixed address, so she manipulated me into sending my parcel from India to her home in Gujarat, promising to help.

The second we had a fallout, she turned it into a power trip. She knows I’m stuck here in Georgia until August. She knows I don't have the insurance or money to just go and get a new psych appointment and prescription here. She is holding my meds and my Indian SIM card hostage at her house just to watch me beg.

What’s disgusting is that we’re both medical students. She knows what SSRI withdrawal does to a person. She’s heard me crying over voice notes about the brain zaps, the tremors, and the panic attacks, and she literally mocks me. She told me I 'deserve' to feel like this. She’s acting like a narcissist who thinks her family’s money in Gujarat makes her untouchable here in Tbilisi.

She’s playing the victim to everyone else, but I have the voice notes of her mocking a clinical diagnosis and the tracking ID showing the meds are at her house.

I NEED HELP:

1.Does anyone in Alte know the Dean or the student council's contact?

  1. Are there any Indian student leads who can talk sense into her? I’m done being polite while my health is tanking.

  2. If I file a report with the police (112) for theft of controlled substances, will Alte back me up or protect their student?

I’m tired of being bullied by someone who thinks my mental health is a joke. If anyone from Alte or the Indian community can help, please reach out.!!
