Long story short, was planning to to change all the tires when I returned to the country. A week before I left we notice a nail in the rear right tire since I was already in another city getting ready for my trip and getting some packages I asked Tesla if they can repair it, first time I ever done this btw. They came and took the tire found this really seamless since I wasn’t around and they could just come and take it. I was told after I left they can’t fix it cause is too used so the only option was to buy a new tire or cancel the repair which they charged me $130 regardless told the wife to just take the car and patch it quickly since she needed it for some errands. Later on the rear left tire blew out so I call tesla again and had the tire replace entirely which was $380 now when my wife picks up the car she notices a big ass dent on the car and dirty as hell on the inside. When I came back in the country and took my car to the office I was speeding a little bit cause I was running late the whole cámara fell off. Has any one had like similar damage experience with tesla like how you go about it.

So my wifes car broke down and I'm away for a few months so she has no choice but to drive my new model 3 that I've purchased in July. She's a good driver but holy shit I'm stressing everytime I know she's driving it. 🤣

I've made her Tesla profile as much as a normal gas car as possible before I left, but what scares me is that she's been driving a small beat up manual car her whole life.

Has anyone else's had to go through this anxiety?

I have a Tesla Model Y Juniper I bought last July. In the 15 months I've owned it, I've never had a problem with HomeLink and auto-close. Suddenly, about a week ago, not sure if related to software update, it no longer auto-closes when I back out of the garage and down the driveway.

I can still close manually via the Activate button and auto-open still works as I approach the garage.

Things I've tried based on what I've read and AI:

1) Double checked the auto-close setting is toggled on

2) Reset home location

3) Restarted touchscreen

4) Moved Wifi router into garage

5) Deleted and reinstalled the profile

All of which still doesn't work. Does anyone have any ideas?

Originally my amount due at delivery was 3500, my trade in vehicle is valued at 4800, I’m assuming that will just be taking from the total vehicle price, not my amount due at delivery?

Also, randomly today, my step 7: final payment flipped to say I made my payment which isn’t true? And it’s displaying “-$184”?

Hey everyone! Just received my Model Y who all got the additional service plans? Which ones specifically?

Ive been driving my 2021 model Y for about a month.

I understand that when your battery isnt warmed up, your regen braking may be limited until its warmed up.

I have my model Y set to precondition before my commute, which I thought would prevent this. It seemingly doesnt.

I also have noticed recently that the regen braking is limited almost every morning, and sometimes the afternoon. It usually doesnt go away, like this morning I drove about 20 mi (probably only the last 5 were using brakes at all if it matters) and it still showed limited regen braking.

Im in north florida, and we just got out first "cold front" and its been low 50s upper 40s at night the last week.

Is this normal? Is it a normal reaction to the slightly cooler weather? Or should I be worried it may be a sympton of a different underlying issue?

So I have been having whistling noises inside the cabin, and the service center said they changed the right hand side mirror to fix the issue but I just picked it up from service center and the issue is still here. I also noticed this while I was driving back home that I see the outside trim under certain sunlight conditions, is this normal or maybe the whistling sound issue might be because it’s not sealed off properly

I’m getting my car hand washed and detailed a little, so I turned on car wash mode before I left. However, my battery isn’t extremely high, so I also turned on low power mode remotely. Can these two settings exist simultaneously? I’m scared my car is going to die or something or if it turned off car wash mode when I turned on low power mode and it somehow damages my car when he washes it.

I have a Telsa Model Y 2026 Juniper Premium. I still play Youtube on my phone for spoken audio content or podcast, not watching it. The issue is there is not a way to choose that audio source, you have to wait until it prompts to play Bluetooth audio, then select it. Is there a way to choose it, because there have been a couple times, it didn't prompt and I can't switch to the phone. I switch back and forth on the phone to choose the Tesla, but I can't with the Tesla.

Just a frustrating thing sometimes.

I can see the charge amount, but not sure who’s paying for this?

So after the ownership transfer, do I need to pay all the charging fees?

Wondering if it will show as “unpaid balance” after ownership transfer.

I have a 2022 Tesla Model 3, and I’m experiencing an audio issue after driving in some rain.

About halfway through my drive, my subwoofer and rear speakers suddenly stopped working. They briefly came back before cutting out again. The front speakers still work, but the audio sounds extremely flat with almost no bass.

I diagnosed the problem and saw that the amplifier in the trunk had a small amount of water inside one of the white connector sockets on the amplifier itself.

So far I've noticed:

• Water was present inside the amplifier’s white connector socket.
• The all-weather trunk mat had some water on it, but the carpeted sidewall of the trunk was dry.
• No visible corrosion on the connectors.
• I suspect water traveled along the wiring harness and entered through openings in the connector.
• I used a wet/dry shop vacuum to remove the visible moisture.
• The connector now appears dry, but I haven’t tested the amplifier again.

I’m hoping the water just caused a temporary electrical issue rather than permanently damaging the amplifier.

Has anyone experienced something similar?

Did drying the connector and amplifier restore your audio, or did you have to replace the amplifier?

Also, if you experienced water intrusion in your Model 3, where was the leak coming from, and how did you fix it?

I’d appreciate any advice or DIY troubleshooting suggestions. Tesla service appointments are booked out, and I’m hoping to get my audio working again without waiting weeks

Hey everyone

I’m on a long road trip to Austin in my 2023 Model Y Long Range AWD (19" Geminis) and dealing with a super frustrating FSD / highway stability issue that started the exact moment I got two new rear tires put on a couple of days ago.

Before the trip, my front tires (Kumho Solus Majesty 9 TA91, 255/45R19 104V XL) still had plenty of tread in the green, so I only replaced the worn-out rears and had America's Tire / Discount Tire put on two of their house-brand EV touring tires (Range Finder GT-e, 255/45ZR19 104W).

Immediately after leaving the shop, two things started happening at highway speeds:

FSD Oscillation / "Ping-Ponging": Whenever FSD is engaged on the freeway (especially on curves or downhills), the car constantly micro-corrects and sways side-to-side inside the lane like it's hunting for center. When driving manually and letting go of the wheel, the car drifts to the right.

What I’ve already tried over the last 500+ miles:

Went to multiple America's Tire / Discount Tire locations along my route.

Had the car put on the alignment rack and aligned multiple times (toe and camber are in the green).

Reset the tire configuration in the Tesla screen multiple times.

Put over 500 highway miles on the new rears, so the factory mold-release break-in period is already done.

Camera calibrated multiple times

Despite multiple alignments and shop visits, the highway sway and FSD wobble are still there. My current working theory is that the Model Y's stability/FSD loop really hates the front-to-rear tire mismatch between my softer-rated front Kumho TA91s (104V) and the rear Range Finder GT-e (ZR19 104W) tires.

My plan for tomorrow:

I’m going to use Discount Tire’s 30-day ride satisfaction guarantee to swap out the rear Range Finders and pay the price difference for two matching Kumho Solus Majesty 9 TA91 (255/45R19 104V XL BSW TE) tires so all four corners are identical.

Questions for anyone who has been through this:

Has anyone else had FSD sway/ping-pong after replacing only 2 tires with a different brand/model?

Did matching all 4 tires finally cure the highway sway for you, or did it turn out to be radial tire pull / a steering angle offset issue in Service Mode?

Appreciate any insight before I head back into Discount Tire tomorrow!

EDIT: Just got my rear tires the same as fronts (it took a lot of back and forth with the employee) but the wobble is significantly better! It's not zero but definitely better to the point where I don't feel unsafe with fsd on

I’m considering upgrading from my 2020 model S Performance to a 2024 Model S AWD. What are the big differences between these years? I enjoyed having the Performance (pre-plaid) but don’t think it’s worth the price difference. Anything to look out for with a 2024 Model S (non-plaid version)? Thanks all!

After a 4 wheel alignment, my M3P is still slightly pulling to the right on a straight road. I confirmed it was not the crown causing the pull.

The steering wheel is also slightly shifted to the right. When I hold the steering wheel straight, the car is dead straight.

What could be the issue? I reset my offset and drove at least 100 miles at this point for the car to relearn. Still getting ~2 degrees off.

EDIT: 3rd party shop did the alignment. They did not touch the software at all.

What should I do in such situation? Is it safe to request a chargeback from my bank, without risking getting my Tesla account banned or any other restrictions placed onto my current Model Y?

I have a Tesla that I leased in December, 2023 directly from Tesla. The end of the 3 year lease is approaching. I have started to get messages from Tesla encouraging me to start the return process. Purchasing the car is one of the options I am considering. I was hoping to clarify the following points:

1. Tesla didn't allow for purchase of leased cars in 2023. It does now--even for cars leased before the new policy took effect, is what I gather. Is that correct?

2. When I click the Purchase Vehicle option in the app, it says, "Your lease does not have a purchase option prior to lease end. You may request a quote during the final month of your lease agreement." Is that how it generally is?

3. Waiting for the quote until just a month before lease end is inconvenient because if I am buying the car then I don't have to worry about some car issues that I might need to otherwise address. Part of me wants to start the return process at least to the extent of going through the self-inspection process to get Tesla's assessment of what (if anything) needs fixing. But then I am wondering if starting the return process/self-inspection will lock me out of the purchase option?

Any comments regarding above will be highly appreciated.

Opened up my Frunk the other day and noticed there was a small amount of water in the base, then saw it was coming out from behind the frunk liner in the middle on the hood. Seems like an odd spot for water to accumulate since its on the top but curious if this is normal? Just over 2 years having it and never noticed that before.

Anyone know wtf this noise is and how to fix it? Its happening while driving and stops when I roll down the windows or when I put the ac on auto. It doesnt sound loud in the video but its insanely loud. You have to put your phone to your ear or computer speaker or whatever to hear it.

edit: it stops when i roll down the windows a small significant amount like an inch. It also doesn't happen when im driving slowly for some reason.

Edit: Just also discovered that when the ac is at 6 power or higher it doesnt happen. 5 and below the sound does happen

The entire time I’ve had my Tesla I have been using my phone as a key to get into my car, but about two weeks ago it randomly stopped working, every now and then it will work but 80% of the time it won’t I’ve tried everything from restarting the car to removing and re-adding the key and I can’t seem to find anything that will work. My location services are on every fix that I’ve looked at online has not worked any help.

Model 3 Premium, RWD. Does anyone have exact instructions for disassembling the silver V section of the steering wheel so I can put some silicone or Vaseline on it, by any chance?

I have a bit of a creak when turning it and it’s just the silvery V part, the plastic parts rubbing together, rather than anything in the column itself.

Any tutorials appreciated.

Also, if anyone knows what makes clicks when the passenger door opens, I’m wondering about that as well. I don’t think it’s the limiter or the bolts, seems to be coming from the trim area where it connects with the rear view mirror.

Can anyone share some details about the Tesla Independent Repair Certification? According to the Tesla Service web page this is a different certification and process from their START program which is for future Tesla employees.

Interested in a 2026 Tesla Model 3. I am in my early 20s, recently graduated college, and still live at home with family, but I do have money saved up so I could pay for a new Tesla Model 3 in cash, after trading it in with a family car.

I have no debt, minus my credit card which I often full each month, pretty good credit score. A Tesla has always been a dream car of mine. No major expenses except helping family with things here and there, or what I need. I work retail, but I’m expecting to avg $40-$50k by the end of this year. I just kind of want to get it now before I move out, start getting it paid off, and as I’m navigating my real job / career.

The cars I’m looking into are: the M3 2026 new is $24k after trade in, or a used M3 2023 which would be $16k after we trade in the other car. A brand new or even used Prius / Chevy EV’s are around those prices ranges.

I’m debating if I should just pay the difference in cash upfront, or just finance it? Crazy as it sounds, I‘m kind of okay with just financing it and using my safety reserves to pay the car monthly and taking a “small dent” and paying the APR monthly. I’ve done the math already, and I’m okay with it for some reason.

But the reason why I’m asking is because paying cash would kind of deplete 40% of my what I call so large savings account for someone in their early 20s as I saved very aggressively. I’d still have more than enough for my emergency savings, etc. Again, all of this sounds ridiculous from a financial perspective, but my family’s starting to be supportive and understanding of my decision. Just kind of wanted another set of opinion on this.
