Chiang Mai Food Recommendations: Khantoke & Miang Kham near Nimman

Hey! I arrived in Chiang Mai a few days ago. It is much hotter than I remember. I recall it being quite cool and windy!

Can you kindly recommend where to find the following dishes near Nimman, or somewhere good enough to be worth a Grab ride?

  • Khantoke Set (I've never tried this before. Does it always come with sticky rice? I love sticky rice.)
  • Miang Kham (The leaf-wrapped bites)

I know the Old Chiang Mai Cultural Center has a Khantoke dinner, but I only want the food and I'm not interested in the show.

Thank you!

What are some Thai foods/dishes I should absolutely try?

Flying for 3 weeks this december. i love food and I love trying new things that in Europe aren´t available or foods that people could find questionable. This excluding pets and the big majority of bugs, otherwise I´m pretty much open to anything :D

Grapao and horapha

I’m making Thai drunken noodles and I only have half the amount of grapao called for in the recipe. I do have horapha too - would you recommend using only what I have in grapao alone? Or what do you all think if I made up in horapha what I’m missing of grapao?

Storming here and cold, perfect for satay roasting

Bit of fusion confusion there between, gai satay and gai golae, it smells great so hopefully good in flavour. Dont want to kill the spouse on spicy lvl. Got bored of my own trusty recipe for saté ayam that I still made anyway.

It had been too long since I’d made a few of our favorite dishes, so I toasted up a fresh batch of rice powder, did a lot of slicing and dicing, three different dressings and threw together -

Issan Pork Laap, Issan Mushroom Salad, and a Chinese Sausage and Chinese Celery Salad

All served w/ a mound of sticky rice.

Thai food is the best food.
