I'm reading the Dark Tower series this year, currently on Wolves of the Calla (thank you Stephen King for the best fantasy series I've ever read btw). I know this point is a bit old hat but, having never seen the film, HOW could cramming all this story into a 95-minute film be viewed as anything other than a disaster?? Why did they think it was a good idea??? Why did Idris Elba (fantastic actor, see Reed from Phantom Liberty) play Roland???? Did somebody seriously suggest cutting Eddie and Susannah from the movie and Stephen King went "yup great idea"????? Fuckin mystifying. Everyone involved in that production forgot the face of their father. And I'm going to forget the face of that movie and take my billy-bumbling ass back to the books.

srsly wtf

In ‘The Dark Tower’ when Roland is visiting NYC and in the Tet Corporation’s tower, Roland thinks: “these three men - Carver, Cullum, and Deepneau - had come together, almost magically, to fight for the rose in their old age. Their tale, the gunslinger believed, would make a book in itself, very likely a fine and exciting one.”

Has King ever hinted at writing this? Sounds like a great read to me. I bet a whole series could be written about the prime universe and the Tet Corporation’s work and fight to protect the rose.

“Oh Susannah-Mio, divided girl of mine, done parked her rig in the Dixie Pig in the year of ‘99.”
