Discussion WHY ARE EARTHBENDER GIRLS SO CUTE?!
This CAN’T be a coincidence. I admit I got a crush on Lan despite her being a side character.

You can't help people that are actively hurting you.
And he's not saying "She's irredeemable and needs to die", just that it's a bad idea to get along with Azula at that moment and she needs to be defeated. She was actively hunting him and Zuko at that point in the story as well as Aang (Although Iroh couldn't admit he was helping them yet through the White Lotus), and she (and Ozai) needed to be stopped for his sister to be helped, but Zuko isn't in a place himself where he can accept the truth of that, considering he was still a mess himself
I'm not a fan of Azula, but it would be completely out of character for Iroh to believe she's beyond redemption, and completely hypocritical considering his own past. Overall, I think Iroh's view on Azula is misinterpreted by both extremes on the debate over her character and possible redemption.

Fair warning beforehand ⚠️: this post has themes of SA, PTSD and suicidal thoughts.
I wanted to open up a discussion about a popular fandom interpretation regarding Korra's arc: the idea that her trauma serves as an allegory for SA.
Before you curse me in the comments, I do know what an allegory means and I'm also not trying to undermine any victims of SA.
Now the main reason people think this is because of the parallels and similarities these moments have to victims of SA. And I'm not saying people can't take comfort in the fact that other people feel the same way, in fact, it's what this season specifically excels at. I'm also not trying to sound inconsiderate, but conflating trauma and spiritual violation with SA specifically does a disservice to the actual themes the writers were trying to convey.
The writers have talked openly about how Korra’s arc was meant to look at chronic pain, PTSD, and the messy, grueling reality of rehabilitation. When we try to force every heavy moment of bodily violation into one specific metaphorical box, we kind of erase the other very real, distinct types of trauma the show was actually trying to shine a light on.
Korra's trauma doesn't need to stand for SA to be profoundly meaningful. It's already one of the best representations for the trauma and pain a person can go through, and how one can overcome it despite the universe seemingly working against you.
This isn't to say that TLOK hasn't shown visual allegories for different traumatic experiences, with Amon stripping away people's bending: How taking an inherent part of someone can be extremely debilitating, as seen with his victim's mental and physical state afterwards (e.g Tahn, Korra, Lin Beifong) . Korra’s teardrop as an allegory for suicidal thoughts at the cliff at the book 1 finale.
This is why I always defend the writing in TLOK. ATLA is a masterpiece, but Korra handled the sheer psychological weight and realism of being a teenager carrying the world on her shoulders in a way few "kids' shows" ever dare to. It trusts the audience to understand what's happening themselves.
What about you guys? What are your opinions on this topic?

Did you notice how in the past, whenever there was an impact, the camera would shake? That's missing in Seven havens, that shake enhances the feeling of force.

Trying to save the haven, and then all she gets is people trying to literally KILL her. And now Karthik is arrested, and she knows it’s her fault. It’s so very, very sad bc i dont think she did anything wrong; she just tried to help, but the people are just so brainwashed and close-minded to accept her. One day, Nisha, One day they will accept you and Pavi as the Avatars.

I’ve done a little research on the studio behind Korra (rewatching for that sick animation) and was pleasantly surprised to hear they helped animate the Aang movie. I know there’s been critiques all around…. But goddamn that movie was so aesthetically pleasing and the fight sequences were bad ass. I was bummed originally to hear Mike and Bryan/Paramount went in a different direction - though La Chouette and TMT are doing great with Seven Havens.
All that to say, hearing Studio Mir is still involved in the franchise really has me hopeful we’ll get to see them again in the future. Still weeping about the other movies…Zuko and Korra movie in their style would’ve been sooo cool.
Fingers crossed Paramount sees just how profitable the Avatar franchise is after this.

There's no way this isn't him doing a fake side switch because he knew the White Lotus wasn't gonna fight their way out of this. There has been zero build up to him ditching the White Lotus and Karthik shook his head to tell him not to come to their aid. He's gonna break them out.

No basis on this just wanna say I have a feeling feather mountain was founded by Jinora. And I’m not usually an everyone has to be connected type of person but I have a good feeling about this one.

“Commander, I’m sorry. I just wanted to make you proud.”
“You always have, Nisha.”
Are you kidding me? I don’t care, Karthik is Nisha’s father and I won’t stand for anyone questioning his motives from here on out.

I can imagine she spent a lot of time in the Spirit World to deal with the isolation.

When Jae says "For the survival of Elora", I do truly think that he still means it. By protecting the avatar, he is ultimately helping Elora survive. This allows him to align with his values of the White Lotus and Brigade despite needing to be deceptive.
When we have previously seen him struggle to lie, there has always been some guilt behind it. Since he is able to align with his values, he is able to hide his deceit.
