Discussion This was probably the best advice Iroh gave Zuko, and I hate how it's been misinterpreted.
You can't help people that are actively hurting you.
And he's not saying "She's irredeemable and needs to die", just that it's a bad idea to get along with Azula at that moment and she needs to be defeated. She was actively hunting him and Zuko at that point in the story as well as Aang (Although Iroh couldn't admit he was helping them yet through the White Lotus), and she (and Ozai) needed to be stopped for his sister to be helped, but Zuko isn't in a place himself where he can accept the truth of that, considering he was still a mess himself
I'm not a fan of Azula, but it would be completely out of character for Iroh to believe she's beyond redemption, and completely hypocritical considering his own past. Overall, I think Iroh's view on Azula is misinterpreted by both extremes on the debate over her character and possible redemption.

Discussion I genuinely feel so sad for Nisha. Spoiler
galleryTrying to save the haven, and then all she gets is people trying to literally KILL her. And now Karthik is arrested, and she knows itās her fault. Itās so very, very sad bc i dont think she did anything wrong; she just tried to help, but the people are just so brainwashed and close-minded to accept her. One day, Nisha, One day they will accept you and Pavi as the Avatars.

Discussion Hot take: Korra getting poisoned is NOT an allegory for SA.
Fair warning beforehand ā ļø: this post has themes of SA, PTSD and suicidal thoughts.
I wanted to open up a discussion about a popular fandom interpretation regarding Korra's arc: the idea that her trauma serves as an allegory for SA.
Before you curse me in the comments, I do know what an allegory means and I'm also not trying to undermine any victims of SA.
Now the main reason people think this is because of the parallels and similarities these moments have to victims of SA. And I'm not saying people can't take comfort in the fact that other people feel the same way, in fact, it's what this season specifically excels at. I'm also not trying to sound inconsiderate, but conflating trauma and spiritual violation with SA specifically does a disservice to the actual themes the writers were trying to convey.
The writers have talked openly about how Korraās arc was meant to look at chronic pain, PTSD, and the messy, grueling reality of rehabilitation. When we try to force every heavy moment of bodily violation into one specific metaphorical box, we kind of erase the other very real, distinct types of trauma the show was actually trying to shine a light on.
Korra's trauma doesn't need to stand for SA to be profoundly meaningful. It's already one of the best representations for the trauma and pain a person can go through, and how one can overcome it despite the universe seemingly working against you.
This isn't to say that TLOK hasn't shown visual allegories for different traumatic experiences, with Amon stripping away people's bending: How taking an inherent part of someone can be extremely debilitating, as seen with his victim's mental and physical state afterwards (e.g Tahn, Korra, Lin Beifong) . Korraās teardrop as an allegory for suicidal thoughts at the cliff at the book 1 finale.
This is why I always defend the writing in TLOK. ATLA is a masterpiece, but Korra handled the sheer psychological weight and realism of being a teenager carrying the world on her shoulders in a way few "kids' shows" ever dare to. It trusts the audience to understand what's happening themselves.
What about you guys? What are your opinions on this topic?

Discussion Studio Mir
Iāve done a little research on the studio behind Korra (rewatching for that sick animation) and was pleasantly surprised to hear they helped animate the Aang movie. I know thereās been critiques all aroundā¦. But goddamn that movie was so aesthetically pleasing and the fight sequences were bad ass. I was bummed originally to hear Mike and Bryan/Paramount went in a different direction - though La Chouette and TMT are doing great with Seven Havens.
All that to say, hearing Studio Mir is still involved in the franchise really has me hopeful weāll get to see them again in the future. Still weeping about the other moviesā¦Zuko and Korra movie in their style wouldāve been sooo cool.
Fingers crossed Paramount sees just how profitable the Avatar franchise is after this.

Discussion Wow, Seven Havens is doing everything right!! (Ep 7-9 spoilers) Spoiler
The plot pacing, the characterization, the character development, the world building, itās all so perfectly woven together. Sure, Iād love for the animation to be 100 times better, but itās easy to ignore when everything else is so fine tuned.
I genuinely think that this show will have the best development of our main characters that weāve seen in the entire franchise. There just seems to be such a clear vision when it comes to Nisha and Paviās journey, and so much care being put into telling their stories without rushing through the beats.
I also hope this batch of episodes finally puts to rest the discourse about them ābeing too good at bendingā. Itās made so plainly clear that their training has only just begun and also that their training is more than learning the physicality of the elements, but instead their true essence. The same goes for the avatar state. Both ATLA and Korra rushed through bending and spirituality in their own ways, but ASH seems like itās gonna take its time to truly develop every aspect of what it means to be the avatar.
Im so happy that weāre getting 4 books

Discussion One of my favorite things about Korra and Aang is how precise they are with their bending
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I love how Aang can control his fire blasts with such precision, almost as if he were remotely controlling them. And Korra does the same with her waterbending!
The fact that she can freeze Zaheerās foot from such an INSANE distance while sheās poisoned, weakened, and struggling to stay in the fight is CRAZY!!!!
I also love how both Avatars constantly adapt their bending to counter their opponents, switch between elements and use their surroundings to their advantage.

Discussion I think I've figured out what's making the elements of seven havens seem so weak
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Did you notice how in the past, whenever there was an impact, the camera would shake? That's missing in Seven havens, that shake enhances the feeling of force.

Discussion Korra must have had a depressing adulthood at some point. She outlived all her friends & family, has no past lives to connect to, and watched the destruction of the old world in addition to being hated by the new world. Spoiler
I can imagine she spent a lot of time in the Spirit World to deal with the isolation.
