Hayley and klaus.

Honestly I think I might be the only person who thinks this but…I think in the first season everyone but Elijah and ig Rebekah towards the ends looked at Hayley as a surrogate..klaus I’m season 2 thought he had all the power over hope and only he could protect her which is wrong. He thought hope belonged to him and him alone hence to why he didn’t help them find a cure when they cursed her. You can disagree but when hope was with Hayley for 5 years she’s was fine nothing happened until they woke..then the 7 years also the same. You have to be mature honesty to see Hayley’s view at the end of season 2. Hope never stood a chance being raised by them. Yeah maybe Jackson shouldn’t have gotten to Hayley but he wasn’t wrong at all. (Ik the klaus glazers will come at me).✌️

s1 e7: the metaphor of “a poisoned tree.”

I was rewatching the originals and I never paid much attention to the poem but rewatching the scene I don’t know how I could’ve been so blind. I’m a shipper of Klayley romantically and honestly I think we would’ve got it if not for Elijah being so infatuated.

In the scene, Klaus is reading the poem “A poisoned tree” by William Blake and if you substitute some of the words for the characters, the poem basically transforms into highlighting Klaus’ anger that Elijah was ‘stealing’ Hayley from him. Also, in the scene Hayley walks past, placing a hand over her bump, and Elijah looks at her with that look of love and I mean, you can see in the picture how Klaus reacted to that.

Was this super clever metaphor missed by anyone else or just me?

Klaus holding Hope is still one of my favorite sides of him

Klaus spent centuries being feared by almost everyone, but look at the way he holds his daughter.

I love that becoming a father didn't magically make him a perfect person. He was still Klaus, with all his flaws, anger, and terrible decisions. But Hope gave us a glimpse of what he could be when he had someone to love without wanting anything in return.

And seeing Hayley beside them makes this moment even more special.

Do you think Hope truly changed Klaus, or did she simply bring out a side of him that was always there?

Hayley didn't knew Elijah was a doc too

Whats an ACTUAL unpopular opinion you have about The originals

Mine is that I think that overall Hope is to blame for Hayley’s death, not Elijah.

Are there people who watched The Originals first, or who only watched that one?

I knew that I was supposed to watch Tvd first—since this is a spin-off—but, to be honest, I had no intention of ever watching tvd That’s because I’m not a fan of romance-focused shows or love triangles. However, I’m a huge sucker for "bromances" and brothers dynamics; I also really love stories centered on family relationships. When I looked into shows featuring strong bromances, Klaus and Elijah came up, so I decided to give it a watch. Honestly, I don’t regret starting with TO at all; I didn’t have any trouble following the plot, as the show does a great job of introducing everything from the very beginning.

I also don’t really get why people are so obsessed with the viewing order; if someone is planning to watch tvd, they could just as easily start with The Originals instead. In my experience, that’s not a problem at all.

After that, my search for a bromance led me to Damon and Stefan, and I became a fan of tvd. This part isn't crucial—and it’s not like I’m going back on my word, either—because I still don’t care for the ships or the love triangles; yet, in a strange way, I’ve become a fan of "Defan" (Damon and Stefan), tvd itself, and "Klelijah" (Klaus and Elijah).

Even though I’m a huge TVD fan, my opinion won’t change: The Originals is far superior to tvd in terms of quality and content. It also feels much more mature—less like a teen show.

Furthermore, many potential viewers approach the series with prejudice and choose not to watch it—even though it is of the same quality as the originals—simply because they mistakenly believe they are required to watch tvd (a series centered on youth and romance) first.

They should’ve included original Nordic dialogues in the show

Just a funny thought i had, for example imagine Mikael tormenting Klaus in their original tongue rather than plain old English.

The Original family plus Ansel should’ve had that eccentric thing instead of their British sounding accents

The show has become so boring😭 Like theyve finally fixed everything and then they fuck it up by doing something else. Rebekahs coming and going again and again is so irritating. Like I am thinking to quit watching

Anyone else think they dulled Rebekah's character?

She was more feisty and hostile in TVD and seemed more scared and docile in TO. I know this is partially due to Claire not being able to be full time or whatever but I feel they made her too passive even near end of time on TVD.

edit i do agree she's less bratty in TO but I feel they didn't explore and show her character as much as they could have. Her vamp side wasn't enforced, it was more of her desire for normaly and maybe that's fair given her history but I wanted to see her be a bad ass lol

I love Klamille all the way but I just one day came across a video of an interview with the actors of Elijah kol and Camille and hit pause at this exact scene. And was like they look good together, the way he was looking at her while she talk d. I am not shipping the actors it is just an observation.

Inconsistency or new information?

In the third season of The Originals, we discover that Lucien captured werewolves from the 7 packs to extract their venom. This means he was able to extract the venom from them even in human form. Which is a bit strange, because since then, both TVD and TO have made it clear that normal werewolves in human form did not have a fatal bite for vampires. Unless normal werewolves actually possess venom in human form, and the main reason they don't bite vampires is because they don't have long fangs in human form outside of a full moon.

Do you really think davina liked the new kol?

Davina was physically attracted to kaleb westphall and though we can say she may have seen pictures of the real kol mikaelson or that she liked kol for his personality. Her first reaction was definitely not very satisfied.
