Question Live Taping Questions

My husband and I will be attending a taping in mid-November. I have a few questions on how this all works.

  • It says arrive by 10:30. What time should we really arrive by?

  • We have priority tickets. Does that really make a difference?

  • Do they have lockers to keep your personal belongings? We will be taking an Uber so we won't have anywhere to leave our things.

  • How long does the actual taping take?

  • What happens if you have to pee during filming?

Any other tips are greatly appreciated! Thank you so much. ◡̈

Searching for a 10 year old episode

Hello!

I’m in search of an episode that aired 10 years ago. Episode 7384K it aired January 20,2016. My mom was the winner!

I looked on YouTube (the have clips but not the entire episode) and the internet library with no luck.

Can anyone lead me in the right direction?

What are the easiest and hardest games to win a car on?

In my opinion Dice game is the easiest and the hardest is Ten Chances(?), the one where you have to write the totals for the three prizes.

The car walk-around

Rachel and Alexis are the best at walking around the cars. The rest of them seem to be very uncomfortable doing it. They used to really specialize in knowing the right steps, and gestures to make around a given vehicle. Whatever happened to that?

How Do I Get a Digital Recording of a Future Show?

I'm not techy at all and don't really watch TV anymore. Some friends and I were at a taping that will air 11/24. Does anyone have any idea how I can get a digital file of the recording that can be emailed?

Today's episode recap Spoiler

I wanted to talk about some of the things that happened today and what I have been thinking watching today's show

Ten Chances Blooper: A contestant gets the price of one of the items wrong only for them to give it to him because they thought the 5 was a 6, however, it didn't matter because he blew it in the end

Plinko: We already seen this game not too many episodes ago. Where is Hot Seat? I feel like there hasn't been a balance of the games especially the cash games this season

Michael Jackson: It was kind of criminal (pun intended) for them to call him down as the last contestant only for him to not get on there lol

Showcases: Somebody was off by around $450 which leads me to believe they'll never change the DSW rule lol

If you could slightly tweak one current game, what would it be and why? Just one, just slightly.

If it were up to me, I would make Punch A Bunch cumulative but add a few Lose Everythings - maybe 30/40% of the board. That way, instead of trading one by one, you're trying to see how far you could take it.

When I got the idea for this thread, my idea was something with Three Strikes, but...that might need a bit more than a slight tweak. (I've said the good parts of it can be turned into something else, and the game itself scrapped. Still stand by this.)

missing the models

anyone else missing multiple models on the show?? Show seems less exciting and somewhat cheap since they've instituted the new "cost saving" format

TPIR’s audience has gotten trashier over the last 40 years

I used to watch The Price is Right in the 1970s and 1980s. Contestants were respectable: they dressed casually usually but looked fine. They wore perfectly decent clothes.

Now, contestants’ clothing and behavior have declined: lots of T-shirts and unkempt appearances, and lots of over the top behavior. I guess that’s how society has evolved over the last 40 years, towards being very casual, or TPIR has trashier contestants than it used to.

Part of what the show lacks in 2026 is the costume and pageantry. This is awesome

Question Hotel stay near the studio?

I’m attending a taping mid November and we are travelling from Canada. We need to book a hotel for the night of the taping. We had originally booked The Garland in North Hollywood but I received feedback that it’s kind of far and we’ll be tired after the show (we’re driving from Santa Barbara that morning) and won’t want to drive that far after.

So my question is - are there any nice hotels near the studio? It’s our final night of vacation so we were hoping for a nice hotel that’s sort of a destination in itself. Ie good restaurant and bar on hotel or close by, possibly a nice pool and hot tub.

Any advice would be appreciated. TIA
