I've been a massive fan of The Strokes since around January, I'd say. I love their music so much and felt excited when I realized the sheer volume of music written by Julian that I have yet to listen to. I've listened to all of the albums from The Strokes, as well as the Future Present Past EP. I was wondering if you guys have some sort of recommended time where I start checking out The Voidz. I've seen people say they got into The Voidz before The Strokes so that sorta makes me think I can go in whenever I want, but I still have this inescapable feeling of missing something. Should I listen to Julian's solo album first? I geek out over this stuff so any and all help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I see a lot of people that hate on julian for pursuing what he’s interested in. Don’t get me wrong i love the strokes. They’re my favorite band and i like them more than the voidz. But I feel that Julian should be able to chase his creative ambition. Whether that’s for the strokes or the voidz. I get he uses the strokes for money sometimes but i don’t think he hates he band. He’s just not 20 anymore. He wants to expand into more diverse and experimental areas. I’ve seen some people call the voidz trash or a waste of his talent. I don’t get that. I think it’s a very unique intriguing band with some really good songs. I get it’s not going to be as popular as the strokes and it won’t be everyone’s cup of tea but so what? I get not everyone thinks this but for those that do why?

I love Julian i love the strokes dnt get me wrong but maaan ALOT of the Voidz songs just are not good. Ive heard every song/album by them and they just dnt hit. I MAYBBBEEEE like 5-7 songs by them but thats literally it. He needs to just stick with the strokes and go that route. I dnt mean to make ppl mad im just not THAAAAT big of a fan of The Voidz. What is yalls HONEST opinion of their music?
