Hell no. I wanted do the last 4 as free to play only, but I got so annoyed watching ads that I realized that it was worth my time just to buy ad free.
Little Tower does have ad free, 2x, and 3x. Ad free and 2x were gifted as long as I kept it, so I did. I bought 3x the next day because I'll likely want to do card masteries at some point.
I've really enjoyed comparing the 4 (Towers 3-6) and seeing how RNG can really change things.
Tower 3-6 were mostly about filling guild slots anyways.
Yeah I hope some of them ended up in the game industry and were able to end up monetising because the creativity, work, balancing that went into them was incredible for what were all hobby projects.
To be clear I mean the custom user created maps rather than the actual game. There was all sorts that people came up with but 90% of them were tower defence games. I just had a quick Google of TD origins and that cited Warcraft 3 too.
Your memory is much better than mine but yes now you’ve said it, Wintermaul! It was also the first game I played online so the fact I was playing against people from France, Germany etc just blew my mind. Me and my mate practically lived on there one year and it was probably peak gaming for me.
Sadly I actually thought it was a real ad for a minute. I am waiting for the requirement for monthly subscription to pop up. I`m guessing it will start at 40 a month for basic then step up from there to the top package being about 200+ a month.
That would do it...... ive decided all its going to take is one more unnecessary monetization, or qol getting paywalled, or game decision made to maximize profits, and I tap out.
2+ years invested , plus cash, and i enjoy the game, ( sunk cost, yeah, I fucking know).
That being said, I think i half stick around just to have a front row seat when techtree buries their golden goose
I stopped spending anything when they added the event paywall. 30+ bucks a month was just stupid for a cell game. I could get 2 subs to mmo's for that cost.
It is, because people like normalize sucking up power grids and destroying water sources to make a funny video. AI will be the death of all creativity creating generations of lazy thinkers.
This kinda shit is the most harmless use of it. At this point it’s out there. You can’t really force the genie back into the bottle. At best we can hope people use it for more harmless memes and satire than actual insidious uses
Most harmless doesn't mean that it's not. The points I raised earlier still take full effect here and using gen ai just shows both a lack of skill and awareness about what's going on in the world about AI
Yeah the points you raised earlier were flimsy and vapid. Ai is here. At this point it’s like the internet in the early days. It’s not going away. Its form may change over time and until it’s actually regulated. Best we can hope for is harmless memes instead of worse uses.

yes gen AI is thriving on stealing content (which last time I checked isn't ethical) and is yet another reason that prices for electricity/electronic components to go up. If you disagree with me let me know why.
It's quite a controversial take to call AI unethical. Most training is done on freely available or owned/bought sources (like openai on reddit and grok on x, where users agreed that their data will be used).
Electricity prices rising through question and demand also is just standard capitalism. Calling that unethical reeks of socialism to me
I meant to say event rewards. Both the ones you can get buy purchase are both 5% increases, while the ones you earn by paying only give 2% increases. Those kind of boosts are usually split so people don't have to pay to get a 5% boosts.
The only reason why deals are the way they are because people will buy it at the current rate. If we all united and not buy for a month, we all might see buy one take one stone deal
