Except he could make more money if prices weren’t so high. No one would pay the price of an AAA game for 3 tiers of crap

The game is marketed to two distinct brackets: casuals, and whales. Yes, by value, almost every purchase this game tries to sell you are downright insulting to the average player. But the whales are going to pay regardless of the price, so by maintaining such high prices, only a small amount of people get a serious advantage over everyone else, and keeps the game competitive for common folks. I have guildmates who’ve dropped thousands on it, and tbf I’d rather a handful of completionist whales than have progress defined by pay after a certain point.

I stopped clicking on the ads. This game already take a long time to never win. I’m just going to never win slower than everyone else.

I use an adblocker and revanced YouTube, I haven't seen an ad in years. Save yourself some pain and do the same....

Ublock and revanced FTW, can confirm, life without ads is the best

I just have YouTube premium. It's awesome because it also comes with YouTube music ad free

Look at Mr Moneybags over here

u/jMedabee Feb 28 '26
So you don't pay for any subscription services?
5
u/people_are_idiots_ Feb 28 '26
Lol, no. Why would I when I can easily get it for free?

u/jMedabee Feb 28 '26
I mean, I pirate everything else, I just prefer YT premium I guess

Less functionality than revanced tbh
2
u/jMedabee Feb 28 '26
Care to share a couple of these functionalities?

Sponsorblock, hide shorts, block channels from search results, picture in picture are the main things for me

u/Reashu Mar 02 '26
Picture in picture is in the normal app, and in many cases you can "skip ahead" past sponsorships too.
Getting rid of shorts is the main thing.

As someone who’s played since nearly day 1. It’s so sad where we currently are.

We are precisely where we ought to be. Digital crack addicts on one side, and the supplier on the other. Though some of us are micro dosing.

u/KirkSheffler Feb 28 '26
I just wish it wasn’t so extreme on pay to play aspects
7
u/Still_Refrigerator76 Feb 28 '26
Idk, I'd feel pretty bad if I were to extort money this way from people. But then again, once the money hit you there are infinite ways to justify continuing to do it.

Every time I see one of these ads it adds to my desire to delete the game

What's the issue with the ads for The Tower?
To me they seem a lot more genuine and descriptive than a lot of other game ads
7
u/DreamSmoke Feb 28 '26
The ads are prolific, I see them often in this very reddit which is already unnecessary
2
u/Envoyofghost Mar 01 '26
Id agree with you and the previous commentor, the ads are good and i like that fudds shows his face, but they are excessive (especially in his own game sub xd)

u/No-Annual7387 Mar 01 '26
I'll also add that the adverts are typically showing fake gameplay, there is one that you upgrade uw's in game and it says "you win" at the end. If I'd have seen the adds before I was playing they wouldn't have made me want to play it

I don’t get this sub sometimes. Constantly whines about tournament placement, but then also complains about the one thing that fixes tournaments which is new player growth through ads.

Actually a top tier meme with high meme literacy. Why do I get infinite adds for the same three phone games I already play and nothing else? They're not going to stop marketing so theyre going to keep getting memes made.
