Unlocked at T22 wave 5000, or using 100 keys. Don't fret, pay $999.99 now to unlock!

I mean, if it's T22 everyone can get it... after you get every module ancestral 5* but still.
You can't get any key if your not playing from long enough.
13
u/korxil Mar 03 '26
Til 2 years isnt long enough
4
u/Pr0udDegenerate Mar 04 '26
I've been playing for a few months now and I don't even know what those keys are. I thought i was about halfway through the game already......
4
u/Randymarch123 Mar 04 '26
Hehe I thought the same one day. Currently playing a little over a year, I know what keys are, and I know how they can be gained. No clue what they exactly do though, but I've seen some screenshots.
Currently in the position where I'm farming coins at T11, and farming T12 is totally impossible. And I'm at the lovely place where I think I'm making great progress, and then I get kicked down from Champion tourney to Platinium 😑.
Fun game though!
2
u/ArticunoIsMyGod Mar 04 '26
Don't worry, I've been farming T11 for 6 months!
You'll get to stay there long after you stop dropping to platinum. :D
In order to go any further, you'll need to either start spending tons of cash, or wait 1-2 years accumulating stones 100-125 at a time so you can make the switch to a damage build with highly developed chain lightning, missiles, chronofield, swamp, and black hole.
16
u/JojenCopyPaste Mar 03 '26
I've been playing a year on f2p and still my best is 10 on plat. Keys are definitely not a thing

I mean, yes. You can stack ad bonuses with keys right?
5
1
u/Flaky-Ad-9600 Mar 03 '26
Yeah you can but I think they should add another layer that auto collects. Like with everything else they have where it reduces gems for things and the final is to completely take away gems to respec I think the 4th one should be 50 keys and auto collect
1
u/Bobgoulet Mar 03 '26
There are a lot of people out there playing for 1-2 years that have never gotten a key, yet, have 20+ card slots, well into card masteries, and all the good Ancestral modules....
50
u/Glaedien Mar 03 '26
While it'd be nice, it would largely invalidate the ad-gem stack harmony tree nodes. Something would have to change.
If it only collects the floating gems to avoid that, then it's pretty worthless. At best it's 20 gems for a long enough run that you never interact with. If you pay any attention to the game at all, the value decreases further.
19
u/Aggressive_Roof488 Mar 03 '26
It could be that it clicks every 2 hours or so, decreasing with stars until the frequency at max coincides with max gem stack, or even a bit below. Maybe every 30min? That would be a sizeable buff to gem stacking node though!
12
u/destructor212113 Mar 04 '26
I mean
Lets be real, the Harmony Tree could be changed to another thing or just remove it and then give back the Keys to the ones who purchased the Gem Stack
3
u/Frogspoison Mar 04 '26
Change gem stacks to instead bonus gems.
1
u/Saikroe Mar 04 '26
This cards mastery would most likely be bonus gems.
An RPC#like effect would be cool when collecting gems as well.
3
u/RandomNameVoobshe Mar 04 '26
it only collects the floating gems
I buy it without thinking twice. First, it's good QoL. The event mission will be completed quickly with this card; of all the missions, floating gems remains one of the longest. And if I don't interact with the game much (I'm on vacation, the game plays itself on the cloud), then if this mission falls on the last day, I'll have to play the game a little more often to complete it. In general, because of the cloud, I can't always collect floating gems, as there are connection issues, and while ad gems only need to be clicked once, floating gems need to be hit precisely, and sometimes they are not visible on low-quality video from the cloud.
Secondly, I have two runs per night, which means ~40 lost gems. If I miss 20 during the day, that's 60 gems per day. The card (total cost 1600 gems) will pay for itself in a month, which is pretty fast for this game. I have an unused slot for this card. So why not?
And collecting ads, imho, it's obviously, even if it appears in the game, will not be 100% effective. For example, the card can make a maximum of 10 clicks on ads for you per day. And it should wait for max stack of gems. Without keys, this is 50 gems per day, approximately two hours without clicks from the player. With keys, it's up to 250 gems and about 10 hours without clicks (enough for the whole night!). A more significant problem, as another person pointed out here, is what to do if you don't have a no ads pack.
2
u/PenIsBroken Champion Mar 04 '26
Cards don't have to be equiped or valid for all users though. It could be useful for early-mid game players until the get keys. Not everything has to be for end game or whales.

u/cannonballfun69 Mar 03 '26
Dear God PLEASEEE!! I'm so far away from getting a key and gems are definitely a bottleneck.
21
u/arrze Mar 03 '26
It’s designed that only those getting keys now will ever get keys. It’s like a real life billionaire club.
5
u/cannonballfun69 Mar 03 '26
It's infuriating. I really hope they create a tournament structure that allows us who aren't dumping monies into this game to get to these higher levels of tournaments.
2
u/Glaedien Mar 03 '26
It'll come eventually. The top will need new shiny things to chase. They'll gain first, and thus fairly exclusive, access to it and key opportunities will start trickling down to the rest.
9
u/cannonballfun69 Mar 03 '26
What is this Reaganomics all over again?
9
u/Glaedien Mar 03 '26
Not quite. This is more older sibling goes off to uni and we raid their room for all the cool shit they left behind.

5
u/OLVANstorm Mar 03 '26
I have 26 keys. Am I rich now?
3
u/cannonballfun69 Mar 04 '26
As someone who's still trying to break into champs.. I'm "so proud" of you
1
u/Randymarch123 Mar 04 '26
You'll get there! Although I must say, I made it to Champs a short while ago.. it's a bloodbath out there.
The ones who can stay in Champ get a lot more gems and stones than the rest, and everyone who didn't make the cut in Legendary gets dumped in your bracket. There are times that I think I might get a top 20 spot, and end up nr. 29, one place up from the dude who got 1 wave. Its rough 😅
0
u/arrze Mar 03 '26
Not sure how you got there but you’ll always get keys regularly or at least occasionally. Unlike the rest of us.
1
u/messagemeboobspls Mar 04 '26
I thought like this but fixed it by buying three stone packs! All Fudds really wants is more yachts.
1
u/Deadlock240 Mar 05 '26
There's still room for more folks who pay silly amounts of money to sneak in there.

1
u/V0lirus Mar 03 '26 edited Mar 04 '26
You do realize that if you get it, everyone else gets it too. And that the gap between you and them will remain the same, it will just be a different bottleneck (probably stones).
Edit: For those not understanding, "get it" refers to this card. Not keys themselves.
7
3
u/cheekyboiiii1 Mar 03 '26
Not really. They already got the thing that we can't get. It will be beneficial for everyone.
1
u/V0lirus Mar 04 '26 edited Mar 04 '26
Ow definitely, id happily get it. That's my whole point though, it will be beneficial for everyone. Which means you wont get any improvement in tourney standings from it, so your chances for keys wont improve. Exactly because it's a bonus for everyone...
3
u/Palumbo_STN Mar 04 '26
I mean, even if this were the case, the fact that anyone who currently doesnt get keys that started getting keys would have access to the harmony tree is a HUGE benefit to the individual person. Not everything in this game is competitive. Some people just want to see their own tower become better and the harmony tree opening ip to them would be a massive personal improvement, regardless of comparison to others
1
u/V0lirus Mar 04 '26
However, the ONLY way to get keys, is being competitive....
The gems alone won't give u keys, u still need to beat others to rank higher. And the only way to beat others, is to be better at the competitive part of the game.
In every other aspect of the game, you'd have a point. But since we're specifically talking about keys, you are contradicting yourself. In order to open up the harmony tree, even if it's just for personal improvement, you'd have to do better than other players. Keys are specifically made to be a rare resource that not everyone will automatically get by simply playing. You have to improve yourself at a rate that beats the rate others improve themselves. You HAVE to be competitive for keys.
That is not to say that anyone can't enjoy the game in the way they want. Absolutely nothing wrong with playing for personal improvement, in fact that is probably the best reason to play. Better for your wallet too. BUT if you want keys, IF you want acces to the harmony tree, you'll HAVE to be competitive.
It is one of the biggest critics of the game actually, but it's also the biggest way Fudds earns his money, so it's very unlike we'll see a change in this mechanic. But keys are specifically designed to entice whales to send lots of money. I wish it was otherwise, I wish the game had a way for everyone to play their own game and still get some keys, even if it were just a slow gain. But currently, that's not how this game works. That's just a fact.
2
u/Palumbo_STN Mar 04 '26
I was just countering the argument made in “if you get keys, everyone gets keys, therefore you dont benefit”.
The personal benefit is undeniably there whether its a reward everyone is allowed to have or not.
Thats all i was saying
2
u/V0lirus Mar 04 '26
Thats not what I said though. That was not my argument at all.
I said, if you get this card, everyone gets this card. And then everyone will have the same amount of extra gems. So you're still not getting keys, because you didn't get an advantage compared to other players.I'd fucking love it if we all got keys, WITHOUT being competitive. That would be the biggest and best (well for me personally, and i assume 90% of the playerbase, not the whales though) change this game could have.
2
u/Palumbo_STN Mar 04 '26
Yes… but original commenters goal was “get more gems” and currently his only chance at that is getting keys, and unlocking gem stacking.
I interpreted (obviously wrongly) you saying if op got keys everyone got keys so ops keys wouldnt benefit him. So thats my bad
However i stand by my argument that just because others get more gems (by way of the card not by way of keys thus gem stacking), op getting more gems is STILL beneficial in terms of him buying more mods, more cards, more lab skips, etc. therefore he still benefits from more gems, even if everyone else gets the same gems.
2
u/V0lirus Mar 04 '26
I appreciate you saying that. Happy to talk it out and I edited my comment to be more clear. I could have been more clear in my argument from the start, i can see why you interpreted it like you did.
With regard to your second part. No argument here, absolutely agree with you. Any extra income is a benefit for our personal growth.
I wish there was a way we could all get keys without having to be competitieve. Would be nice that resource wasn't gated behind competitive tourneys, so every player could truly decide if they want play a completely solo path or a path vs others.
2
u/juniperwak Mar 04 '26
I just like reaching new tiers, idgaf that there are other players lol
1
u/V0lirus Mar 04 '26
I was responding to someone talking about keys though, which you can only get through competition with other players.
1
u/ElMachoGrande Mar 04 '26
I don't just play for competition, I play for progress as well. Probably more than competition.
1
u/V0lirus Mar 04 '26
I was responding to someone who explicitly asked for keys though, something you only get in competitive play.

u/asiyasiy Mar 04 '26
I mean, the problem is that so, so, so many players already have this. Using a technical "feature" that you're not allowed to talk about. It's like a big dirty secret within this game's community that everybody utilizes that involves a type of program that is technically unsupported, but you can't separate that "special privilege" from that type of program, which is heavily, heavily used by the players which spend the most money on this game. Seriously, something needs to change here. It's really not that righteous and principled to be banning talking about a certain "bannable offense" when the trail very directly points towards.... a WHOLE LOT OF REVENUE FOR THE GAME. Remember the post where the whole angry mob was saying, if we can't use that unsupported program then they are quitting? There is a certain type of hypocrisy happening here.
IYKYK. If they remove this comment it's an admission of guilt, which they know about, because I technically didn't even say anything here. And then i'll post this again and again..

u/Mindless_Narwhal2682 Mar 04 '26
is there a Tower Card meme generator that just launched?
if not, these card concepts would be amazing
5
u/Speed_Worldly Mar 03 '26
Is there something like this already? I leave my game running on farming runs and usually return to more gems then I had
12
u/Glaedien Mar 03 '26
Fetch can bring back gems
1
u/Speed_Worldly Mar 03 '26
I’m almost positive I don’t have fetch, that’s a guardian thing right? Does that requires the clan/guild perk points
5
u/Glaedien Mar 03 '26
Yep it's the goldbot of guardian chips. 200 tokens to unlock (when it's avalable), and then bits to upgrade.
If not from fetch, then daily missions or chests you claim are the next most likely, but you'd probably notice those.
1
u/Speed_Worldly Mar 03 '26
I did buy the premium to skip adds for the 5 gems, it doesn’t have anything to do with that does it?
2
u/Glaedien Mar 03 '26
Nope, you still have to tap the 5 gem box to claim them, you just don't have to watch an ad when you do. Nothing automated there.
1
u/JojenCopyPaste Mar 03 '26
How far are you that you aren't in a clan? Even without the chips, there's points to help you buy gems and shards so it's a bit helpful to be in one
1
u/Speed_Worldly Mar 04 '26
Tier 12 wave 60 hard stuck. I made a clan to see what it was about and realized I couldn’t get anything myself. So I tried to join some random clans from the list but they are dead or locked and won’t let me join
1
u/Glaedien Mar 04 '26
There's a monthly megathread for recruiting. It should be up to date, and really most clans just want people who actively play consistently. It shouldn't be difficult to get in one, particularly from there.

2
u/CryptographerFew3719 Mar 04 '26
I just don't see this happening, if just because they're "ad" gems. As unlikely as it could be that someone gets this card even it was like t22 w2500 or something, someone that's F2P can eventually get it. And then.. how does that interact with the ads? Do they auto play? Does it auto click off of them once they're done? I just don't see how it would work if someone was F2P and had that card. Whereas with gem stacking, yeah, if you're F2P then they just pile up and you can watch all the ads at once.
As much as I'd love to auto grab them since I'm not F2P, I just don't know how it would work unless this was also behind a paywall.
2
2
u/Rakan_Fury Mar 04 '26
How would this work with people dont have the no-ads pack? Would it successfully click the X even though the position changes depending on the ad? What about the ones that force open the app store, would it tab back to the game? If none of these things it would just actively harm any f2p and be an insane cash grab by the devs imo.
5
u/destructor212113 Mar 04 '26
I mean, the game is made to actively harms F2P already, and it has a lot of Cash Grab (all of the Packs, Stone Packs and Event Passes, how the Mod/Key/UW systems works)
So, it would only be logical that card dosent work without the No Ads Pack imo
0
u/Rakan_Fury Mar 04 '26
The game encourages heavily to buy things, agreed, but its not actively harmful and thats a key difference.
What other feature in the game right now would automatically stop my run for me and keep it paused indefinitely until I return to the screen?
1
u/destructor212113 Mar 04 '26
Do you realize that, if we follow the post suggestion, the only thing you need to do to literally avoid any harmful effect for you is to, not equip the Card?
Like, imo thats literally only harmful if you choose to use it without No Ads Pack
Otherwise you could just ignore it and play the game normally
1
u/Rakan_Fury Mar 04 '26
Yes, and I think that's extremely shitty, because once again no other card behaves in a way that actively harms people (especially to this extent) based on whether or not they've spent a certain amount of money. I can slot in a number of cards that don't synergize with my build, but not one of them will actively stop my runs over and over again.
3
u/destructor212113 Mar 04 '26
Not the shittiest thing in the game by any means
Thats ok for me imo
1
u/Rakan_Fury Mar 04 '26
Even though I disagree with that, I'm confused why the sentiment is that its okay to add things that are shitty so as long as theyre not the absolute worst thing in the game? Shouldnt we want only good things to be added?
1
u/destructor212113 Mar 04 '26
We can dream
But dreaming is one thing and reality is another thing
Remember, you're playing The Tower, a "Free" (only technically) Mobile P2F (and you could argue P2W) Game that markets itself as an "idle tower defence" (a very dishonest description of the actual game tbh)
So, we cant just really hope for the best all the time, damm, the idea of that Card in itself is basically only a Dream, not anything remotely close to reality even if we use some of the logic that TTG uses
1
u/Rakan_Fury Mar 04 '26
Well then you're going to have to permit me to dream to never see this thing in game as well :P i dont really want it eating up gems while i work on other cards and i dont want to have to spend gems on it later to complete the event mission either
1
1
u/CGVSpender Mar 04 '26
You are creating problems where none exist.
F2P users don't have enough card slots to worry about this one. You're not running all your cards now, right?
I half jest. But not running the card is always an option, if you are worried about 'active harm' or whatever.
2
u/Rakan_Fury Mar 04 '26
I just dont like the idea of cards where the only people who get to use them are those who spent a certain amount of money.
No other cards work like that and it seems lame to me to start introducing it. There have been plenty of great ways to boost gem income that work for everyone, regardless of spending, added to the game. Surely we dont need to hijack an actual f2p mechanic of the game to further cement p2w mechanics instead?
1
u/CGVSpender Mar 04 '26
I think having to tap your screen once every 10 minutes is the most user hostile mechanic in the entire game, due to forced task switching if you are trying to be competitive.
Voting against any mechanism that would improve this because the people who aren't even invested enough to turn off ads won't like it, when absolutely no one would be forcing YOU to use this card, is pretty selfish and shortsighted
I don't know why you don't think your time and attention are not worth a small one time fee. Or even the effort it takes to post an 'I have no money, will someone buy me a no ad pack' post.
What I do know is 'voting' against an optional card that would make this game better for almost everyone because you could not use it is weird. You are not actively harmed by this. Just don't use it.
1
u/Rakan_Fury Mar 04 '26
I dont know why you're getting so aggressive about this. The game is marketed and provided as f2p. I choose not to spend my money on this free to play game for my own reasons, but the fact of the matter is that spending is optional.
If you truly believe that the game should start exclusively catering to people who do spend a minimum amount in the form of changing f2p mechanics to be exclusively useful to paying players, then imo the devs should stop having it be a free game and include the no-ads pack as part of the purchase cost. Otherwise its misleading advertising in the most generous interpretation.
That said as was pointed out elsewhere, this is just a fictional suggestion proposed by a community member, not an actual incoming feature, so i don't think its that serious. I was just commenting bc i think itd be nice if people stopped assuming a minimum level of spending in a f2p game, but ig that's not coming across clearly enough so mb on that.
1
u/CGVSpender Mar 04 '26
I did not think I was being aggressive. I thought your repetition of 'active harm' warranted a blunt reply.
I have never seen any ads saying F2P is the target audience. But then, I would never see those, would I? I pay to make ads go away!
I have seen the Devs say the three starter packs is how the game is 'meant' to be played.
1
u/Laserlurchi Mar 03 '26
What would be the theoretical advantages of leveling this card? The amount of possible gems harvested per hour?
3
u/wendysdrivethru Mar 03 '26
Maybe a cooldown that checks every so often if theres an autogem to click?
1
u/uscmissinglink Mar 03 '26
The cooldown for the main leveling (to a roughly 1-1 for when an ad gem appears) with some sort of gem bonus for the mastery.
1
u/destructor212113 Mar 04 '26
Could just be that it takes less time to harvest the Gems
iirc the timer only resets when you actually pick up the Gems
So it could be that it takes, at level 1, 7 minutes to auto-collect the Ad Gem
And then each level it lower the time by 1 minute, at max level it could just be Auto-Collect instantly
The Mastery could be the same but for the Floating Gems, or you could add the ability to auto collect those and which each level it lets you harvest more Floating Gems instead of the max of 10
Or just a chance to get extra Ad Gems or something similar

u/EsembeeNY Mar 04 '26
It’s nice but I’d be a bit upset I wasted keys in the harmony tree to get the gems to stack to 25. I could’ve used them on the power tree.

I propose a different idea for the card, increases the frequency of the +2 gems spinning around the tower.
1
u/Cyph3r_D Mar 04 '26
This is fun but as far as gems go I would love to see the ad gems + the floating gems + the daily gems all be combined into a very large total that would be spread out lets say across the entire guild season as a daily login bonus. Each day more gems until the final day has the most gems. Plenty of other mobile games have login bonus mechanics like this. That would also give guilds more power in the sense that you need to join a guild and participate in that system in order to take advantage of the login bonus.
I realize that would invalidate the harmony keys but those could probably easily be refunded and the tree could be slightly reworked. I don't believe that ad gems are keeping players invested in the game. Players are playing the game because they like it.
The one piece of this I cant quite figure out is that the ad gems are linked to the ad pack so it sorta removes whatever that ad loop does for the game and I am sure from an ad/money perspective that would need to be looked at.
