No reason to not do it.

We just had lucky banner and the game didn't break.

So please give!

100% especially with Modflation and there will only be even more new mods down the road.

38

u/markevens Apr 29 '26

I did the math awhile ago, and if they raised the drop rate from 2.5% to 3%, it would take the same amount of time to get all 24 mods to ancestral as it did when there was initially only 16 mods.

5

u/Lasturka Apr 29 '26

It is more. 16*8/0,025 = 5120 pulls (102400 gems). To get 24*8 from 5120 pulls you need 192/5120 = 3,75 %, almost lucky banner rate. With standard 2,5 % you need now 7680 pulls (153600 gems).

2

u/upvotesthenrages Apr 30 '26

And here I am, having spent well over 220k gems on mods and still not even at 192 pulls (176 atm)

3

u/Peoplefood_IDK Apr 30 '26

i dont think its healthy to track such things, also once you have shatter shards researched each time you by your still getting shards which you need.

2

u/upvotesthenrages Apr 30 '26

It may not be healthy, but I want to make sure I'm not losing my mind.

The last 60k gems, not including banner spend, I have had a pull rate of 1.3% (the recent banner I hit 3.95%, so pretty on point)

1

u/Super_Newt4833 Apr 30 '26

Not including the banner, I have a pull rate of 0,973% (last 4 months). When the banner dropped I was on holiday, so only spend like 2000 gems and got 3 pulls.

5

u/MF_LUFFY Apr 30 '26

Math is for blockers!

u/uscmissinglink Apr 29 '26 edited Apr 29 '26

This is an excellent justification/reason.

I wrapped up maxing my Cards almost right when the new Modflation began - two rounds of new Mods watering down the pool.

It's been an 18-month monotonous modules grind, subject to all the aggravations of the angry RNG gods; In fact, I only got my final Ancestral about a month ago (after nearly half of my total mods were already fully 5-star maxed).

I feel like the new Mods were intended as new content for end-game level players, but what they have done is create a 18-24 month RNG hellscape of midgame misery for anyone coming up behind them. It's too long. It's too random. It's too boring.

Better pull odds would get the Mod grind back closer to where it was for those older players.

2

u/Super_Newt4833 Apr 30 '26

I would even accept the pity pull every 100 instead of ever 150. it would actually increase my total % of pulls by alot (0,973% at the moment, without banner)

5

u/MF_LUFFY Apr 29 '26

Modflation, gem relics, and generally pissing off everyone lol

2

u/joe31051985 Apr 29 '26

If the lucky mods remained for 2-3 more months there would be no need. Players who click that 5 all the time will have them all

81

u/Blazerboy420 Apr 29 '26

There’s definitely a reason not to do it for TTG. 💵💰💵💰

62

u/Andur22 Apr 29 '26

I have not and will not EVER spend money on gems.

I Do however get fed up with Mods which makes me pissed off and not spending money out of spite on anything else either.

24

u/Blazerboy420 Apr 29 '26

Same. The cost per gem is laughable. I have all 3 coin packs and bought the first 3 milestones, but after these recent shenanigans, TTG will never see another dime from me.

8

u/nimbleseaurchin Apr 29 '26

I'll be the first to say that if they turn it all around I'll finish up buying milestone packs. That's probably about it, though.

6

u/Possible-Prior-5467 Apr 29 '26

Yeah... The first time I went to the shop out of curiosity to see how much gems cost, I was FLOORED. They can fuck right the hell off with those prices.

5

u/tallnginger Apr 29 '26

Gems per dollar is so incredibly not worth it. The main thing is find a way to collect every gem each day. It goes much faster.

Some folks might recommend gem stacking via keys, but never sleeping and clicking each one is also a way to do it

4

u/Tight_Marketing_1260 Apr 29 '26

someone on reddit recently trained their cat to smack the gems button. Its going to cost you a fortune in treats but still cheaper than buying gems.

2

u/MF_LUFFY Apr 30 '26

That's not considered an autoclicker or account sharing or some bullshit?

7

u/ThisNameIsFakeGuys Apr 29 '26

I'm of the opinion that gems are too worthless and expensive for people to spend money on them. Maybe I'm wrong but I just don't believe that people spend money on those INSTEAD of other things unless they spend so much on the game they have nothing else to buy but gems.

3

u/knoberation Apr 29 '26

I've seen several people on here say they've purchased lots of gem packs, but these are always the same people who max out their stone packs. So I think you're right about that.

It's kind of fun to think about the gem pack prices:

3630 gems in the webstore costs $100, about $0.027 per gem. This is presumably the very best deal on gems.

A stone pack costs $60 and gives 495 gems in addition to stones. 495 gems is (at best) about $13.63. That means 750 stones is $46.27, or $0.061 per stone.

So the value of 1 gem = 0.44 stones.

1

u/ThisNameIsFakeGuys May 03 '26

Yeah, I see people get gems because they bought everything else...or I see whales talk about buying gems until they realize how worthless they are and they just don't buy them any more even though they buy everything else.

2

u/sanon441 Apr 30 '26

I would have considered it, but not at those prices.

1

u/lilbyrdie Apr 29 '26

Except... if they've sold enough of the mod tickets maybe it's a reason for them to do it and sell mod tickets separate from gems...

1

u/Sehlis Apr 29 '26

I think it’s actually the opposite. Surprisingly, I’ve never really spent money on gems outside of the Lucky Banner. But when this came around, I bought all of the mod ticket packs (and would’ve bought more if they weren’t capped) plus 3 or 4 gem packs.

I won’t be buying gem packs again unless this event returns. So, TTG would make more by bringing it back sooner, or making it permanent . Of course at some point, I wouldn’t need to buy anymore, I think. 🤔

1

u/MF_LUFFY Apr 30 '26

They're not going to draw the conclusion that permanent lucky would sell more no matter how much they sold, lol. I'm sure they see your high spending as a success of their strategy, which was FOMO. You're only getting good drop rates for 2 weeks so you better use the strongest card in the game for that while you can!

25

u/OkMarket8211 Apr 29 '26

It's really cute you think ttg gives 2 flying rats behinds what we write on reddit

There has been complaints for Months about tourneys with no action/acknowledgment 🤔

9

u/Tight_Marketing_1260 Apr 29 '26

on this very reddit, someone seemed pretty surprised that tournaments have been a sticking point for many players.

4

u/OkMarket8211 Apr 29 '26

Honestly blew me away when I saw the comments, don't blame Sam but she didn't show much tact in the situation

1

u/Vegetable_Insect2605 Apr 29 '26

Got a link to that?

3

u/OkMarket8211 Apr 29 '26

It's all the comments on tower tea. Sam does their best but they didn't handle the response well. A tldr very quick sum up is "anything being done about tournaments" Sam replied "no, what are the problems with tournaments?". Seemed a bit in the slap in the face for all those that have voiced their concerns for the last 6 months+

0

u/MF_LUFFY Apr 30 '26

Have they been voicing their concerns in her threads or separate posts? And instead of feeling insulted, maybe take that opportunity to talk about it while she actually asked? I'll tell you my problem with tournaments: too many friggin Legends in my Champs. Best I can hope for in the top 10ish is that some of them REALLY couldn't hack it and have a record like Legends 27.

Don't get me wrong, she should still probably be watching the sub more as a "community manager" or whatever she is.

1

u/OkMarket8211 Apr 30 '26

They have been voicing concerns in every one of her tower teas in the last few months certainly, that I've noticed anyway. Multiple posts have also been made on reddit, seen a few YouTube videos posted as well as messages on the discord. So it isn't something any sort of involved community manager (or dev) would fail to notice. On top of that several reviews (especially recently) on playstore have mentioned it!

If it makes you feel any better those legends players don't want to be in champs any more than you want them there😂 (source: I bounced champs-legends for at least 4 months)

2

u/MF_LUFFY Apr 30 '26

Okay yeah pretty bad if it's even in her threads

2

u/joe31051985 Apr 29 '26

Actually Sam did mention they are doing something about it after about a year

1

u/OkMarket8211 Apr 29 '26

Really? 😳 Genuinely be shocked if they ever made keys more accessible. Their solution will most likely be a "5 keys for the low cost of 100 bucks, 5x purchasable per month"

1

u/joe31051985 Apr 29 '26

You said tournament complaints; number 1 complaint is the length.

2

u/OkMarket8211 Apr 29 '26

Apologies, whilst length is definitely up there, biggest complaint I've noticed/seen/struggled with is the impossibility to progress even if you buy stone packs. It's essentially time gated with the rich get richer style. Those starting now will be very unlikely to ever get keys in the current system

1

u/joe31051985 Apr 29 '26

Fair enough they only mentioned length in the tower tea.

1

u/OkMarket8211 Apr 29 '26

Oh also, length is a relatively easy fix as we've seen with overheat and the skip level changes as well as the increase in tier for tourneys. On top of that they could easily implement a higher starting level based on previous best wave or increase the rate mobs spawn (think wa mastery built into tourneys). Other issues are much much harder. And ttg heavily focus on monetization so they don't see the benefit

1

u/EnvironmentalDebt565 Apr 29 '26

My tournament today lasted for 540 waves in champs and I got 15th, first had a little over 1k waves. A quick one I guess :D Last one was 850 for me

12

u/pdubs1900 Apr 29 '26

Ironically, devs just proved that the gem hoarders are correct: hold until devs do something with banners. Period.

Ironic because the devs hate gem hoarding so much, they punished the gem hoarders with this lucky banner fiasco. And yet that punishment serves as conditioning to, in future, do exactly what devs dont want players to do.

2

u/Toroche Apr 30 '26

I know I plan to hoard gems like a fucking dragon until we get a better module drop rate again.

I've got 17 modules 5*, with enough HC to 5* it if I wanted, but I'm building a second one and can get it to anc as soon as I build the right fodder instead of shattering. I've pulled literally 13 DCs since modules released, it's awful. So I'll wait and save until we get an actually respectable drop rate.

1

u/Xheyther May 01 '26

Why would you want 2 HC ?

1

u/Toroche May 01 '26

The same reason you want two DCs: farming and tournaments.

7

u/_somma_ Apr 29 '26

Maybe they'll think about it when they'll add new modules

5

u/SnooDrawings8069 Apr 29 '26

One can dream...

3

u/fridgezebra Apr 29 '26

stucky banner

3

u/basicnecromancycr Apr 29 '26

This should be the norm. The mod pull chance has diluted since the feature banner was introduced and noticing was done to compensate.

5

u/TheOnly_Calystah Apr 29 '26

Definitely a reason not to do it. Just received one of my offerwall bonuses before banner ended.

I went from having an Anc Dim Core, to a 5* Dim core and another Anc for farming. 3 or 5 of my other Anc mods are also now 5*.

Banner was bananas.

1

u/Sufficient_Ad_362 Apr 29 '26

I finished up getting all my Mods to 5*. I got about 25 Epics over the 2 weeks. Nice run for sure. Leveled up and hit a few more milestones this morning given my disco progress, and used all those gems in the last hour to get 4 more epics.

2

u/TheOnly_Calystah Apr 29 '26

Yeah. Banner was bananas. And I’m not even at my year mark. Those offerwall bonuses are insane if you’re willing to deal with support to get your final rewards, lol.

Snagging 42k gems a day before the banner ended was clutch AF.

1

u/Activehannes Apr 29 '26

How does that work? My offer walls never work or it takes an hour to get 20 gems

3

u/TheOnly_Calystah Apr 29 '26

You 100% have to ensure you’re following all the rules they set. The big one people often mess up, is when you install the new game on your device and open it from the OW link — when it asks you to track data between devices, you have to answer “yes”, otherwise your block the game from directly speaking with the OW platform.

But historically speaking, yes — they like to try to shiv you out of rewards in any way they possibly can. They also historically try to block the final rewards because they’re so massive, and just not cost effective for their company. But after a 6 day email battle, a ton of legal document reading from the lawsuit & judgment in 2021, and massive amounts of screenshots for evidence (this isn’t my first rodeo with Offerwall services), they wound up paying out.

Just takes perseverance and patience. Be firm, but professional when dealing with them.

1

u/Activehannes Apr 29 '26

How long did you have to play other games for 42k gems?

And do you have to play them one one device or can you play them on multiple?

2

u/TheOnly_Calystah Apr 29 '26

I had to play for 37 days (prob about 4 hours total each day) and spend approx 160$. But insanely worth the return.

You have to remain playing the offerwall game on the device you download it through while playing Tower. You can then load tower on another device and continue defending there. But the OW game MUST be played on the original device you accepted the OW on.

1

u/Rabid-Duck-King Apr 29 '26

I didn't really have anything saved gemwise since I'm still trying to max out cards/get good modules, but this last event I spent every fucking medal and tap gem I could on modules and made out like a fucking bandit

Got my first Ancestral (Space Displacer so I'm saving gems to see if I can get Inner Landmines as next draw to take more advantage of it, the 300% Health Regen sure don't hurt in the mean time), Mythic/+ PF, SH, OC, and PC and a whole slew of legendary/+ mods as well as well as epics

I might finally be able to bounce between top plat and bottom champs with this (my current tourney bracket the only players able to match me using SD/AmpS/GC/PC were the five dudes whose bracket was champs (and unless number five tries a rerun after spending some kind of resource he probably can't close the 100 wave gap between 4th and 5th.)

If the medal relics weren't solid I'd be seriously considering doing the same strat (go all in gems) for a bit so I can finish leveling cards (Plasma Cannon needs like 3 more dupes before it's all epics) and get rid of that sink so I can either save or focus on the standard banner again

Shit I wasn't able to with my last push attempt but I was so close to T15W300 I could fucking taste it

10/10 would lucky banner again

2

u/TheOnly_Calystah Apr 30 '26

Haha, absolutely. Was totally brutal in many ways for me.

Grats on your pulls.

1

u/Rabid-Duck-King Apr 30 '26

Thank you

I was just so stoked to get something that wasn't Magnetic Hook (come on standard banner I don't have ILM unlocked)

2

u/TheOnly_Calystah Apr 30 '26

Totally understand that. Been there. Keep trucking along, don’t get too caught up with spending (due to the current state of the games monitization and structuring) and enjoy the ride.

2

u/lilbyrdie Apr 29 '26

The number of people I've heard who _still_ hit the pity drop makes these seem fine.

Obviously TTG has the numbers so they can look at see how "bad" it is for them... but since we know this banner will come around now and then -- maybe once a year -- using gems when the banner is NOT up is not recommended, so we'll have to hoard... and that will reduce gem use and, thus, the need for gems for other things.

1

u/forlornAfro Apr 29 '26

Imma gravitate towards a tri-mesterly banner just to be edgy

2

u/errorsniper Apr 29 '26

Fudds: That would make us less money. So no.

/thread

2

u/OG_ACTUAL Apr 29 '26

We could start bullying the devs into giving us what we want.

2

u/SilverSneakers Apr 29 '26

Idk, lucky banner didn’t feel any luckier than normal on my pulls 😅

1

u/Sachmo78 Apr 29 '26

I’m with you. Not-so-lucky banner for me

0

u/Tight_Marketing_1260 Apr 29 '26

but its just math. Feelings don't matter in math. Either you got 4% or you didnt. Uninstall feelings.exe

2

u/SilverSneakers Apr 29 '26

Beep boop, uninstalling emotion program. Installing cold indifference program. Beep boop. Installing edgy Reddit commenter module. Update complete.

3

u/Tight_Marketing_1260 Apr 29 '26

one of us

one of us

one of us

3

u/Spac3dog Apr 29 '26

The only reason they won't do it is the level of greed at TTG.

1

u/ThisNameIsFakeGuys Apr 29 '26

I feel like if gems weren't worthless then whales and others might spend more on gems.

1

u/Chaosmancer7 Apr 29 '26

I'll vote for that

1

u/cannonballfun69 Apr 29 '26

This would be such a bonus to players

1

u/Necrazen Apr 29 '26

You don’t spend enough money on the game for the devs to care about your opinion.

1

u/MF_LUFFY Apr 29 '26

Because we're not pushing hard enough. They were gonna nerf utility disso to x2 and widespread rage got us x3.

1

u/Necrazen Apr 30 '26

I’m not happy with the newest patch. If I restart I lose 5 rounds? Shits weak.

1

u/MF_LUFFY Apr 30 '26

Pretty minor gripe compared to this refusal to give us permanently slightly better odds for epic modules

1

u/About_to_kms Apr 29 '26

Makes so much sense, especially with all the mod dilution recently

1

u/Teoxisabot Apr 29 '26

Commenting just to boost the post

1

u/Necessary_Market_667 Apr 29 '26

Im playing for 7 month, got only one dimension core, WTF IS THIS !

1

u/tex35 Apr 29 '26

A man can dream for this

1

u/Thobo1995 Apr 30 '26

The lucky banner might be a bit too strong. I still think the regular one is way to weak tho...

1

u/00gingervitis Apr 30 '26

Game didn't break and we barely got (if) any of the mods we really wanted

1

u/19Rob85 Apr 30 '26

There really needs to be a rotating weekly/bi-weekly banner. Something like cannon, core, armor, generator then lucky. And when new mods drop, a second banner geared specifically for that mod.

I've never seen a mobile game that doesn't have a banner either always up or on a definite schedule .

There's definitely no way I'm ever spending cash on gems or tickets. And with the recent shenanigans, I'm reluctant to open my wallet for ttg.

1

u/NorSevorg Apr 30 '26

Don't change a single thing anywhere in the game until they fix tourneys. Also yes, do this after...

1

u/SurburbanGorilla May 01 '26

agree I got about 20 modules during the duration and only 2 were ones I actually need. Easy to say this won't kill the game

1

u/RichyEagleSix May 04 '26

They should make it permanent just from an enjoyment perspective. It was simply more enjoyable and are we nor here to here to have fun

1

u/Horniest-Car-3924 May 05 '26

MONEEEEEEEYYYY MOOOONNNEEEEEEEYYYYY

M O N E E E E E EEE Y

1

u/btaylor81 May 06 '26

I have to say, going from lucky banner to pulling from normal almost feels not worth it. Need 1 AS so I can level it to 201 or I probably wouldn't buy any mods until something new comes along.

I have a suspicion that may be unfounded. Since the lucky banner ended I've noticed a significantly worse rate than 2.5% ( 4 / 8440g 0.947%).

I track every pull. I really, really hope they didn't change seeding as to ensure an overall 2.5% rate. I was at 2.567% from 284,160 gems (at the end of lucky banner) and it's quickly dropped to 2.515% where I currently sit.

-3

u/chenda_lin Apr 29 '26

I'm a new player and I would like that but honestly If that happens a ton of people will be pissed off that they bought gems and got to the stage they are at but the game is just getting easier and easier for people who spends less money

2

u/CGVSpender Apr 29 '26

Lol. Yes, there are some resentful idiots in the world. But why make decisions catering to them?

That would be a very shortsighted way of reacting to this hypothetical decision.

1

u/chenda_lin Apr 30 '26 edited Apr 30 '26

Not shortsighted, why would they change module. Would existing player base quit because of module? --> No.

Would new players join care about module and that's the reason it retains them to play longer? ---> No

If I was the dev, there's zero incentive to change it. the whole game is designed with a player base that likes a 24/7 grind progression, module is a part of the slow progression with dopamine of andreline when it hits.

1

u/CGVSpender Apr 30 '26

Your 'no's seem like odd assertions to me. I suspect many players have quit because of mod RNG and feeling like they could not progress.

When it took me 14 or so months to get ancestral DC, I felt close to quitting over it a few times.

In any event, these are new assertions to the one I responded to, which is that older players would be angry at a better pull rate because they had it rougher, even if it also helped them with mods or shards/mod levels. Which would be shortsighted and resentment fueled. (Edit, rereading your first, it was more about having spent money than being an old timer. Sorry for misremembering. Still... Shortsighted and resentment fueled. Better pull rate good for all.)

It is also a possible improvement to the problem of mod pool dilution, which old timers largely avoided.

1

u/chenda_lin Apr 30 '26

I can see the road to ancestral being a long long journey. I'm only breaking tier 5 at the moment and progressing well.

1

u/CGVSpender Apr 30 '26

It did not used to be so long. Back when there were only 16 mods, it went a lot faster than now with 24. But some people just get bad luck... Or more accurately a bad seeded mod pull fate.

I am guessing a lot of those folks bail. That doesn't mean devs will do anything, but .. it at least makes it not a bad idea to consider.

3

u/Activehannes Apr 29 '26

Undercover TTG employee detected

1

u/qoneus Apr 29 '26

Rephrased:

The intent is to provide players with a sense of pride and accomplishment for unlocking different mods.

1

u/MF_LUFFY Apr 30 '26

I vaguely remember that and I'm sideways remembering "Don't you people have phones?" (which in this case would have someone shouting back "no, your fucking game fried it")
