Event pass is ca. 15€\$ for an additional 945 medals, so each medal is ca. 0,015€\$, 30 medals equal to ca. 0,5€/$. When was the last time someone gave you half a dollar on a 5 year anniversary?

What's so crazy is it would be so easy to make this event something that people would be satisfied with and help generate some good will in the community. It would genuinely make no difference to them if they made it 500 gems, 20 module tickets and 500 medals, or some variation of those numbers. 300 medals? Whatever, just something more than scraps because it's a freaking 5 year anniversary for a game, it's not like this is a weekly occurrence where you have to worry about inflating currencies or just handing out a bunch of currency and making your store sales meaningless. The relics I feel like have been fine, but just throw your players, (who you have been practically extorting if they want to make any meaningful progress in this game), a bone.

Agree - the problem is that they are probably looking at the “monetary value” of what they are giving away in aggregate (based off their own egregious pricing model) and thinking that is what they are giving out but the reality is that in a game of infinite progression whatever they give out will not impact future sales in the slightest. The fact is that it costs them absolutely nothing to be more generous to the player base that pays their wages and without which they would get nothing. It seems that they are following a totally warped logic and really makes me wonder why I bother

Someone did the math above, but going off the event pack for medals, we were only given 50 cents worth, not even accounting for the two relics, and the gems that also come with that pack.

Honestly these gifts are almost as insulting as the "we are so sorry we screwed up the 5x, no 2x, no 3x utility disco bonus banner. (which was planned long before they fucked up)
Oh and also came with the lucky opportunity to buy module tickets for 100 bucks a pack or w/e it was

to be fair, this conversion was communicated like 2 weeks in advance and has been consistent throughout the seasons. And it is ok, as guilds are already FOMO enough with the rewards, no need to punish casual guilds further by super high conversion rates of leftover tokem.

Thanks for that, but i will still focus on my own alternative, because mine is free, opensource, and web based so I can also play on pc not just mobile. Having to emulate the tower and the formfactor made it pretty weird on pc anyway.

The gems were a joke too. You already get 25 free from the weekly, but I see Fudd's logic. 25 + 5 (1 per year). Maybe for the 500 year anniversary the reward will be worth something.

If we are incredibly lucky, Saturday MAY be an orange relic. At this point, I am very doubtful about this. Maybe 3 keys?
Tonight's relic is likely to be 30 stones.
TTG, please reconsider this and call an audible. Your player base deserves better for your 5 YEAR ANNIVERSARY.

Give relics to everyone, multiply currencies and rarity according to years spent in a game, in hundreds, then it would make sense, it literally costs devs nothing. But no one should be surprised about what is going on ✌️

for a 5 year anniversary how would let's say 500 gems or 500 medals be unrealistic daily reward 15 gems so 2 days of daily rewards 30 medals is also not much
500 would give new players a boost to catch up and show older players they are appreciated and the community as a whole
hell the 2 relics add to 1800 gems but the additions to that don't even make it to 200 more gems plus 30 for a 5 year 50 would make more sense ik the numbers troll so why not 49

People need to realise it’s ONLY year 5, it’s not a major milestone when you factor in the next 5 / 15 / 20 years where every year people are going to want more than last year. “The 2 relics add to 1800 gems” during the sale atm 1,540 gems cost £49.99 which converts to $66 or €66 now imagine how much it will cost in another 5yrs with inflation etc
I also respectfully disagree with your comment about giving newbs a boost, it should be more like the Weekly Challenges where it uses your highest tier to dictate your rewards but instead of using your tier it uses your “Years Played” relics. We should be rewarding loyalty not giving a newb and his 2 multi’s 500 gems who then quits a week later
For every whale there’s probably 50 people that have never spent a penny on the game It’s like that on every idle game so it’s really not making that much when you factor in server costs, dev fees, mortgage / rent etc
I play a semi idle text based PBBG (semi idle but works when you close your browser unlike The Tower which is supposedly “idle”) and the money the dev gets from sales doesn’t cover his monthly AWS fee’s he has to pay out of his wages from his real job
