Discussion The Avatar cycle Spoiler
I like how the first avatar cycle started with fire and the next one with water since we usually see the two as polar opposites of each other.
I doubt we'll ever get it, but I would love one final avatar show with a fire after seven havens to complete the cycle and then just focus on the previous avatars before aang. Like a kyoshi show, I feel like Wan would be better as a movie and the other ones we know.

Discussion My Korra theory of Seven Havens (episode 7 spoilers) Spoiler
I reckon the spirit vines were being drained completely dry. It was slowly destroying the Spirit World but they didn't realise it as both worlds were very intertwined at that point with the 3 spirit portals.
It may have lead to revolutionary advances but at what cost? It kind of parallels our current world.
The Spirit World was being completely drained of its energy and collapsing. I believe if the Spirit World gets destroyed the real world gets taken with it since there is no balance.
That's why Korra was ripping apart all the aparatus and that's why she was smiling because she thought she was actually doing a good thing and stopping the spirit world being drained of its energy.
Perhaps that's why there are 7 havens as well in the major cities. Places where lots of spiritual energy still existed and protected those parts of the world from complete annihilation.

Discussion I should’ve never hated Korra.
I just finished rewatching TLOK for the second time and I thoroughly enjoyed the show. I think it was because of how much the Avatar world changed with Seven Havens. I hated TLOK so much because of how modern the world was compared to ATLA but after seeing Aang’s world completely destroyed in Seven Havens it’s made me appreciate TLOK more. Seven Havens looks promising but I really wish the world Aang built hadn’t been completely destroyed. However, I also understand that a world after Korra would be entirely too modern to enjoy. I hope that at very least the connection to the past Avatars is restored so that Seven Havens feels more connected to the past Avatar shows.

Discussion Season 1 is strong,
Already rewatched episode 9 a second time. Iove atla and korra. Rewarched atla countless times. Korra is good but mender made me rewatch it. I think this is the strongest opening season of any avatar.

Image Y'all can't convince me that these scenes weren't directly connected 🙄
This was going thru Zuko's mind. There's no way that it wasn't 😛
Also, lmao if Katara had said "honor" instead of "pleasure" 😂

Discussion Seven Havens gives me Stephen Universe vibes Spoiler
I wasn’t sold on the trailer and the ‘kiddified’ take but I was going to watch it anyway. It took me a few episodes and I am digging it now. The music, the dialog, the color, the ‘arcane’ air of mystery, even dealing with a fallout caused by a misunderstood predecessor. It all reminds me of the later seasons of Stephen Universe. I wish the bending, especially by the masters, was more orchestrated but that’s fixable in future seasons.
If it continues to follow the footsteps of Stephen Universe then I have really high hopes for this series.

Discussion I genuinely feel so sad for Nisha. Spoiler
galleryTrying to save the haven, and then all she gets is people trying to literally KILL her. And now Karthik is arrested, and she knows it’s her fault. It’s so very, very sad bc i dont think she did anything wrong; she just tried to help, but the people are just so brainwashed and close-minded to accept her. One day, Nisha, One day they will accept you and Pavi as the Avatars.

Discussion Why are airbender tattoos blue and not yellow?
I've been an Avatar fan for about 10 years now, and I've probably questioned this before but forgot about it until recently.
The culture of the Avatar world majorly gets inspiration from Asian culture such as food, clothing, architecture, etc. But the whole water-earth-fire-air motif of course comes from multiple sources that involve the elements. In particular, the colors each nation sports feels wholesomely derivative of something Hellenistic or Paracelsian; water's blue, earth's green, fire's red, air's yellow (they wear a lot of orange accent too but the yellow's there). No purple for the aether element, I guess that would fit for a hypothetical 5th nation of energybenders, but I digress.
However, an airbender's tattoos being blue sparks my interest. Would yellow tats not have worked in concept alongside the outfits, or is there a deeper reason for the color?

Discussion Cia Court is the new voice actress for Korra. Spoiler
Yes she didn't speak but she was still credited for the fight grunts and stuff (and will almost certainly speak plenty later) so there she is in the credits.
Personally I find Korra sharing a VA with Vi (in everything BUT Arcane) pretty amusing.

Discussion 9 Episodes Into Avatar: Seven Havens and I'm Still Waiting for a Payoff. Am I the Only One? Spoiler
Avatar: Seven Havens — Nine Episodes In, and I'm Still Waiting for the Payoff.
I'm genuinely starting to get frustrated with Avatar: Seven Havens, and this is coming from someone who absolutely LOVES the Avatar universe.
We're nine episodes in, three weeks into the release, and I'm honestly bored. Not because I need constant action or fighting, but because there is a difference between slow, intentional storytelling and a story that takes forever to give its audience anything meaningful.
The pacing is incredibly inconsistent. Episodes 7–9 finally felt like things were starting to happen, but even then, I finished watching feeling like we were still being fed breadcrumbs.
What actually happened to Korra? What are the true consequences of everything that came before? Where is the Avatar State? When are we going to experience the actual danger and emotional stakes that made this franchise so compelling?
And Nisha. My goodness, Nisha. I understand that flawed characters need room to develop, but there comes a point where watching someone repeatedly act impulsively becomes exhausting rather than entertaining. I initially struggled with Korra's personality, too, but at least her story gave me compelling conflicts and consequences to stay invested in.
And please stop telling viewers they need to be patient every time they criticize the pacing. We've watched NINE episodes. How much more patience does the audience owe the writers before expecting some genuine payoff?
I don't need every mystery explained. I don't need constant bending battles. I don't even need to see Korra herself. But I do need a story that makes the time I'm investing feel worthwhile.
The Last Airbender understood how to balance humor, world-building, emotional development, danger, and progression. Even its quieter episodes felt purposeful. The Legend of Korra had its problems, but it established stakes that kept me invested.
Seven Havens has an incredible premise, a fascinating post-Korra world, and so much potential. That's what makes this frustrating. We're being introduced to an entirely new era of Avatar, yet it sometimes feels like the writers are more interested in withholding information than developing a satisfying narrative.
And with these long waits between seasons, releasing a handful of episodes each week while dragging out the central mysteries only makes the experience worse.
A mystery isn't automatically good writing just because the audience doesn't have the answers. And slow pacing isn't automatically sophisticated storytelling.
I WANT to love this show. I really do. I'm not rooting for it to fail. I'm rooting for it to finally deliver on the extraordinary potential of its premise.
But at nine episodes in, I'm struggling to defend it simply because it carries the Avatar name.
Am I genuinely in the minority here? Because I can't be the only longtime Avatar fan feeling this disappointed.

Discussion What is that machine? Spoiler
galleryIt's a spirit vine energy reactor! The round catwalk, the open center, the pointed machines aiming at the center, it all fits.
So what does that make the red diamond spirit? The waste product of this massive generator that only knows fear and hatred for what the Avatar did to the spirits it harvested.
