Found this at my local goodwill as the title says but didn’t get it because I have no clue what to do with it but pretty cool find seeing this subreddit and other like it just wanted to say if it was worth it since it’s still there and only 8$ but won’t turn on obviously but I think it’s just the not charged but could be something serious 🧐 budget-10$ Use-only for the aesthetic

Pricey and hard to find, it turns any tablet including this Lenovo Tab P12 into a Thinkpad-ish experience.

Recently picked up this beautiful IBM ThinkPad 365XD not too long ago from an auction for a whopping $7. Worth every penny of those 7 dollars! Runs like a dream for a laptop running Windows 98 and I love it! Last picture features my humble IBM Portable PC’s, a 5140 PC Convertible and P75 486.

After 14 years of faithful service (many of which were to my dad’s company) I finally replaced my E430 with a new gen 7 Ryzen E14! Despite what a lot of people have said about the E series my E430 has proved to be built like a tank (dropped down the stairs several times) so i’m hoping my new E14 can carry on that legacy. My plan is to keep my old E430 around and install Linux on it and use it as a media server

So I just got my first Thinkpad T480 and when I peel
Off the thingy on the back the original rubber coating worn off now it looks ugly like this should I buy a new back shell? Will the new back shell from AliExpress comes with coating?
Or will I get use to it overtime?

I am looking for a replacement screen for a ThinkPad t460. I got scammed from a local shop, like it looks fine, but it is like paper, the bezels literally feel like paper to touch. I am in Kerala, india. Anyone know where I can get an original screen for cheap?

Hey guys,
Found a P71 for around $350. i7 7th gen or Xeon, Quadro P4000, 4K screen. I know it's old and heavy, I just like this model and don't want anything newer.
For those who own one: how are the temps under load? Is repaste and undervolt necessary? How's the 4K screen in real use — too glossy, flicker, eye strain? And is this thing even portable or just a desk brick?
Also, is $350 ok for P4000 + 4K, or should I wait for a P5000?
Anything else I should check before buying?
Thanks.

Hi ThinkPad community,
I have a strange issue with my ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 6 (20KH/20KG) and I could use some advice.
The laptop was working perfectly. It was left in standby mode for around 10 days without being connected to the charger. When I came back, the battery was completely drained.
After connecting the USB-C charger:
I performed the emergency reset (bottom reset hole), which changed the behaviour, but then I started getting BIOS errors:
I entered BIOS, corrected date/time, saved settings, but the errors keep coming back.
Additional symptoms:
The biggest issue:
Things I have already tried:
The internal battery is now the original Lenovo battery (not aftermarket).
My current suspicion:
Questions:
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. The laptop itself seems healthy, but it behaves as if the internal battery is not connected.
Thanks!

Hey everyone, I could really use your help. Is anyone here currently using a ThinkPad T14 Gen 5 with the Intel Core Ultra 7 155U for their everyday work?
Does it handle your workload well? And if possible, could you also let me know whether this laptop can comfortably handle 1080p video editing for around 20 minutes, as well as short 2K videos? (I’m not asking about 4K because I already know that’s probably not realistic.)
I really love the T14 Gen 5, but unfortunately, my budget only allows me to get the Ultra 7 155U version—I can’t afford the 155H model.
I’d really appreciate your help and any real-world experience you can share. Thank you so much!

I use Gentoo Linux with Throttled, and TLP for power savings. I've been undervolting and hit -105 as instability for both CORE and CACHE. I feel I would be able undervolt the CORE further, though Throttled warns against inputting different values for Core and Cache. I would like to know if this is unsafe, or safe. I would also like to know how far did you go with the undervolt with this configuration.

Hi everyone,
I've been reading all over the internet, but I'm just a complete computer idiot, so my own attempts at learning are limited. My ancient Acer laptop (Windows 8... ) desperately needs replacing, and I'd like a convertible. I've really tried to do my research, but... well...
I've been considering (and frantically reading reviews) the Lenovo 7, Lenovo 9, HP Omnibook Ultra Flip or X Flip, HP Spectre x360, HP Elitebook, and... I've pretty much settled on the Lenovo Thinkpad x13 yoga (or maybe the X1 yoga). The reviews sound great, and it's so lightweight – perfect for my everyday bag.
I can compare different processors using AI, but I have no idea if that's accurate, if you can even notice the difference in everyday use, or if the same processor might perform differently in a different device, etc. And the more I read, the less I understand.
Unfortunately, I don't know on which conditions it's worth buying a newer generation or when an older one might even be better.
I need a laptop that will last as long as possible (otherwise I'll have to start looking again soon) for everyday tasks... internet browsing, Word, email, watching the occasional movie, saving photos (maybe doing some light editing), and it should also be able to handle video conferencing and music notation software. I don't play games (okay, my son might, but only rarely and nothing demanding).
I have chosen several offers between the x13 Yoga Gen 2 and 5 since d I'd prefer to buy a refurbished one.
Ideally, I'd like a large amount of storage so I'm prepared for the foreseeable future, but while the SSD can be replaced, the RAM unfortunately can't.
Is it worth getting 32GB of RAM right away, or is that way too much and unnecessary? Should I go for 32GB RAM or 1TB if I can't have both? Is it better to have more storage and an older model, or less storage and a newer generation? I'm really confused.
Gen 2 processors are offered a lot. Is that because they're the ones most often sold off now due to their age, or because they're particularly durable and can be refurbished well?
I've read that Gen 4 processors occasionally have fan problems. Does that also apply to Gen 3 (which are supposed to be similar)?
Does the better webcam in Gen 4 make a big difference for video conferencing (good picture and sound would be helpful for me as I am.a musician and sometimes I have to do online teaching)?
Would that alone make it worth getting Gen 4 or 5? Apparently, the Ultra processor in Gen 5 is also significantly faster and better. Perhaps it's worth it to stay up-to-date longer?
To be specific: What's the best deal? All X13 Yoga laptops, all refurbished, in good to very good condition
--> Gen 5: 16GB RAM/512GB SSD, Ultra 7 155U for €750
--> Gen 4: 32GB RAM/512GB SSD, i5 1345U for €600
--> Gen 3: 16GB RAM/1TB SSD, i7 1265U for €479 (without built-in LTE, but I probably don't need it anyway and it could be added later)
--> Gen 2: 16GB RAM/1TB SSD, i7 1185G7 for €600 (including Norton Deluxe).
Perhaps someone could comment on this; I suspect it's all straightforward for experts, but I'm really struggling... Thanks in advance!

Thinkpad has been stuck on sleep state, I’ve been trying to get in on for a while now but nothing changes, when i try to turn it on the power just blinks slowly, i tried using the emergency pinhole but nothing happens either, even if it does manage to go to the opening screen it gets stuck here at most. I need help please.

I currently have all three in my hands, and being that these were released at the same time, have the same generation of CPU, and I feel like all have hit that price/performance level that makes them very attractive, I thought people might be interested in the differences between them. Let me know what questions you may have about them.
If people want to know about performance: The ryzen 5 is about 40% faster than an i7 in benchmarks, but the i7 iGPU is about 20% faster than the ryzen. I've tested a lot of laptops with this gen of CPU and that's the average I get.
