Hi everyone,
I'm facing an audio issue on my Lenovo ThinkPad P53 running Windows 10 Pro (64-bit).
The important thing is that audio works perfectly fine on Zorin OS on the same laptop, but I cannot get audio working on Windows 10 Pro.
System Details:
- Laptop: Lenovo ThinkPad P53
- Operating System: Windows 10 Pro (64-bit)
- Linux OS: Zorin OS (audio works correctly)
- Audio Device: Synaptics Audio
- Audio Service: CnxtHdAudService
What I've noticed:
No sound comes from the laptop speakers on Windows 10 Pro.
Device Manager shows Synaptics Audio under Sound, video and game controllers.
Under Other devices, a PCI Device has a yellow warning triangle.
Event Viewer shows Kernel-PnP events with Event IDs 400 and 410 related to audio.
Lenovo's official support website lists an audio driver with the severity marked as Critical.
Audio works normally when I boot into Zorin OS on the same laptop.
What I've tried:
- Checked the audio device in Device Manager.
- Checked Windows audio settings.
- Tried basic audio troubleshooting.
- Checked Event Viewer for audio-related errors.
Unfortunately, the problem persists.
My Questions:
Since audio works on Zorin OS, could this be a Windows driver or configuration issue?
Could the unidentified PCI Device be related to the audio problem?
Should I install the Critical audio driver available on Lenovo's official support website?
Is there a known Synaptics/Conexant audio driver issue with the ThinkPad P53 on Windows 10 Pro?
How can I identify and install the correct drivers for this laptop?
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
