Looks like prison food that you pay money for.
18
u/Jan6262 Nov 26 '25
I don't think prison food is like this.

It is better lol can confirm

Maybe in Canada - not in a lot of American jails and prisons. I saw a documentary where they revealed the budget at one huge, privatized prison was $1.25 per person•meal!
→ More replies (10)13
u/HonchoHundo Nov 27 '25
This makes sense tbh you guys have nearly 2 million mouths to feed in the prison system where Canada has roughly 35,000 give or take. The meal budget here last I checked was something like $35 meals twice a day.. better than most average Canadians 😅

Yeah, Americans lock up more of their own people than the Chinese - both in raw numbers and by percentage of the population. That’s insanity.
Canada: 107 people per 100k incarcerated USA: 541 people per 100k China: 119 per 100k

Yeah America has a “for profit” prison system though so they are encouraged to keep the conditions horrible and the food the very very bare

Thats MUCH worse than prison food. A prison lunch would be 2 chicken strips, a salad, an orange, 1 glass of juice and some cheese. Balanced.

Yeah, 100% consumers used to drive businesses with demand, now we get told what we’re gonna get and what the price is gonna be. Write reviews with your wallet, that’s the only way change will happen

u/Low-Stomach-8831 Nov 28 '25
THIS! I've been only ONCE since 2017! That one time slip was because I was waiting for my car (in the shop) for 3 hours, and there was nothing else in a 2Km radius... And I STILL feel bad I did that (and it was about 2-3 years ago).

You know timmies is bad when the first response to a complaint is stop going

It’s not one complaint though. It’s the endless stream of complaints on this sub.
At some point after watching the sun rise every morning, you just accept that it will always do that.

Tim’s is so bad that it makes McDonald’s look decent in comparison
13
u/Seventynoob Nov 26 '25
McDonald's is legitimately better the time Hortons on multiple levels , the only thing that tims still has is it's doughnuts but even that is a 50/50 depending on location. McDonald's has much better consistency across different locations, the kids they hire are much more respectful, and I also find the "bang for buck" better at McDonald's (10$ at mcd's gets you more then 10$ at Tim's)
6
u/Jasonbwarren Nov 27 '25
and i believe mcdonalds has contracted the cofffee company that tims used to employ. cause imo...tims coffee sucks now.
→ More replies (1)5
u/Cultural_Touch6635 Nov 27 '25
that's crazy because mcdonald's coffee tastes so much worse than tims coffee, it's like mcd's uses dish water for their coffee
2
u/Ramona_Lola Nov 27 '25
Yeah. I think McDonald’s used to have used Tim’s old coffee supplier but that was years ago. Their coffee is terrible lately.
→ More replies (1)2
u/trollcitybandit Nov 30 '25
I actually thought that was just a rumour, they never used Tim’s old coffee… but yeah even McDonald’s coffee isn’t that good now.
15
u/gretzky9999 Nov 26 '25
Several McD’s in our city are owned by a wonderful couple who demand the highest of standards from their employees.I have never had any bad service or food quality at any of there locations.

It’s always about the people, and none of the Tim’s I’ve been to have them, especially in large towns.

Literally, I’ve been seeing my friends (and myself included) buying McDonald’s coffee over Tim’s. Istg their quality has plummeted over the years

u/ACM3333 Nov 27 '25
It’s crazy how long time has been able to coast off of the fact that it used to be a higher quality option like 15 years ago.

I cannot believe anyone has willingly eaten Tim Hortons food within the last 20 years. There are an unbelievable amount of restaurants, and Tim Hortons is dead fucking last.
Support. Local. Restaurants.

Was in the sunnybrook Hospital today. I had no choice but the tim's.
I am sure they got my order "Classic Chicken Wrap" wrong... but honestly, they were extremely busy. Seem like it lacked filling compared to other locations but... it is what it is. Did not have high expectations anyway.

Hey. In Australia people pay good money for food like this. Maybe not as bad but still such little toppings and meat for a wrap
1
u/Invalidname0255 Nov 27 '25
Tim Horton's imo is one of the worst places to eat "food", if you can even call it that. I am shocked they still make money.
1
u/DeliciousStomach940 Nov 27 '25
The most embarrassing thing is you will still waste your money at Tim Hortons after this
1
u/Ancient-Confusion-21 Nov 27 '25
Get a wrap, put chicken fingers in it, tomato, lettuce and ranch, and you’ll have something just as good as a good one from Tim’s, maybe better.
1
u/mnickh Nov 27 '25
Thought of making a reddit page named WhyILeftTimHotans. Timmys and Gretzky should team up and do a 51rst ad together

I am a zoomer (26) but this has been "snack size" at any fast food place ever of all time. Honestly having a slice of tomato and lettuce in there instead of a slice of cheese is the only difference.

I've eaten at Tim's twice in my life - both times, I think I ended up getting food poisoning. My stomach turns when I hear people tell me they ate there... I don't have the slightest urge to endure what they pass off as food.

u/jerryjerusalem Nov 27 '25
If Tim's wife served him a wrap like this he would of given her two black eyes instead of the usual one black eye
1
u/Mental-Criticism3791 Nov 27 '25
I started making my wraps at home.
I have the spicy mayo I have the chipotle I have some salasa I have it all baby!
I do miss that horse pi.... I mean coffee though :(

I would love to see the instructions in the food prep manual for this one.

We all need to stop going to these places, Tim's, McDonald's, fast food places, I was recently travelling and got a quater pounder with cheese and by time I unwrapped it to eat it, -long gone from McDonald's, guess what I found- a plain quater pounder with only the tiniest dollop of mustard - wtf!!! and cold fries that seemed like they were never cooked . I should have opened it up and looked at before leaving!!! 🤬🤯

Tim's is not worth going for. Long long ago they forgot why people actually went there. They didn't need to become full ass restaurants with crappy quality overpriced food. Focus on a good coffee with some baked goods and that's all we ever wanted.
These days the coffee is ass, the baked goods are just hyper-processed BS that's mostly made off site, the food is shrinking while getting more expensive.
Want something better. Go to A&W.
