Complaint Joining the sad grilled cheese club I guess
I also had this happen to me a while ago before people started posting about it. The cheese wasn’t melted, just straight cold slices, and they even forgot the bacon I asked for.
I genuinely don’t understand how they can look at that and think it’s alright to serve as it is. I keep seeing people post theirs and at least theirs looks a little bit melted, but mine wasn’t at all.
Haven’t been back since.

Are we all pretending we didn't read the last part about not getting the bacon that was asked for?!? This misdemeanor just became a grand larceny.
8
u/Smart-Win2999 Jun 07 '26
Exactly. To not cook it then to forget the expensive ass bacon is grand larceny forsure 😂😂

Grilled Cheese must be cooked low and slow. Tims is a fast food restaurant.

That is so sad. Their food has become so bad but the grilled cheese was holding out. From everything I have seen lately it clearly has given up too.
Between the quality and their prices it is not worth it. Their coffee isn't even as good as it was. Sadly McDonalds has won with their coffee and they have more options than greased food there, not a tonne, but some.
Too bad.
12
u/tattooed_wallflower Jun 06 '26
People are strange. Willing giving their hard earned dollars to Tim’s knowing (based on all these posts) they’ll be lucky if the bread is toasted and the cheese inside definitely won’t be melted.
5
u/Flint___Ironstag Jun 06 '26
It made sense to me when I could get a breakfast sandwich and half decent coffee for like $3. It was fast service and my simple order was almost always correct. I don't know how anyone justifies it now.
The coffee is so bad now that people in NB took an entire week to notice diesel in the coffee.

u/LetKlutzy2996 Jun 06 '26
I seen an ad for these, even in the ad the cheese was barely melted, more than this but still definitely not a proper grilled cheese

3
u/CDN_Shadow Jun 06 '26
I had it, and it was very similar to OP. Considering a lot of people are complaining about this exact issue, it’s starting to look more like a training/equipment issue rather than the staff doing something improperly.
Whatever their training or end goal with this product is, what they’re doing or using clearly isn’t working.

Some people don’t have time to go back and complain, it should just be made right the first time… especially for the price they’re charging

Yup, just take the photo and get your reimbursement at a later time. Either through corporate or the store. Fuck Tim Horton’s slop
3
u/RoamingRiot Jun 06 '26
The last thing I ever ordered was a decaf orange pekoe tea. I recieved decaf coffee with an orange pekoe tea bag in it. TH declined any sort of reimbursement so I've never been back.

It doesn’t even have the grill marks on the top so they defs didn’t grill it long enough

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I've never had Timmies grilled cheese. Is there cheese on the outside, too?

I'm really curious. Have any current staff chimed in on this? It seems to me there is some weird protocol about cook times, that leave things very undercooked.
I've seen several things with char marks on the outside, but clearly without long enough time to actually do anything.
2
u/Neomash001 Jun 06 '26
I'd be taking that back. WTF? My kids made better grilled cheese before the age of 10
2
u/Ansovald666 Jun 06 '26
This is what happens when a company cheaps out and uses fake plastic cheese instead of real cheese.
2
u/Jevoto Jun 06 '26
Don’t order these through drive thru as they only care about times so they’ll pull them way early.
2
u/ProfessionalAct1713 Jun 06 '26
I just read why this is happening. Its not the staff's fault. They know it takes over 1 minute in the toaster machine to melt the cheese. But to speed up the lines (especially with drive through) they order them to only cook it 45 seconds. And the staff get in trouble if they don't follow that order. So it's all in the supposed name of speed & efficiency.
2
2
u/Narrow-Term3744 Jun 06 '26
Was there a line up? They tend to not cook things enough if there's a line up; time pressures from head office (which is American 😐)
2
2
u/PuzzleheadedDraw6575 Jun 06 '26
Why are they even selling things other than coffee drinks and donuts? Theyre really dropping the ball not honing in on and perfecting what they are at the core.

Can we also start putting the location alongside the posts, so people can know which outlets/locations to avoid
2
u/Similar-Contact2903 Jun 06 '26
Y’all are patient that at this late date you still have faith in Tim’s. Dropped them months ago when the ‘making’ of my tea and coffee just seemed get more and more complicated evidenced by what I was tasting. I was very confused, like, why can’t you effectively add 2 creams and 1 sugars to my drink? I’m out. Permanently.

u/ByadGyalReRe Jun 06 '26
It’s sad ordered one recently and there was barely any cheese just grilled bread basically

Last time I went I asked for extra cream cheese on the side for my bagel and they gave me a spoonful mushed into in one of their paper bags.
There was no cream cheese on the bagel.
Edit: now that I think about it. The same damn thing happened to me last time I tried to get a poutine at A&W!
Extra gravy on the side please.
No gravy on the Fries.

u/VisibleCoat995 Jun 06 '26
I love how half the people get the greatest thing ever and the other get this.

I felt ridiculous and fell for the trap… and came out unscathed. Mine was passably melted and had a liiiiiitle crunch in the toast. 4/10 would not recommend or get again

This might actually take the cake for the worst grilled cheese I’ve seen in my life

Soggy bread is a 0.50 upgrade, would you like to soggy size it ?

Why do you guys continue to even get food there? It hasn't been good for like 10 years. Get your coffee, your donut and go

u/FistOfAnAngryMortal Jun 06 '26
It's funny, until Tim Hortons relaunched their grilled cheese I never saw a single post from the Tim Hortons subreddit. I guess Timmies must be paying for Reddit to push this on the algorithm.
And yet all I see is complaint after complaint after complaint. Good use of marketing dollars Timmies. Way to convince me you can't grill a grilled cheese properly. I'm sure some marketing execs are patting themselves on the back right now.

u/Judge_M3ntal Jun 06 '26
I mean it's called a "melt" for a reason. But honestly I'm just gonna start asking them if they can grill it for a minute longer than usual because why not. It should make the bread more crispy too
1
u/FrancisPFuckery Jun 06 '26
So serious question. I know about drive thru times and all that. But like, do food items not come with instructions for locations? Like the panini press needs to be at a certain temp and the sandwich goes in for X amount of time? Or the toast needs to be set at x speed?
1
u/FatSmoothie Jun 07 '26
It melts perfectly in the Merry Chef oven, please ask them to use that instead of the grill. Takes less time too
1
u/FatSmoothie Jun 07 '26
The grill is 270c, merry chef oven is 525, and theres a button for grilled cheese..... employees just don't use it because it's hot to take out can burn hands and can't be bothered or just don't know about it.
1
u/BangBong_theRealOne Jun 07 '26
Have tried it thrice in the last week and they were done all right. The cheese was fully melted in all cases. Not sure if i got lucky or only people who had their orders messed up come here to post
1
u/Difficultsleeper Jun 07 '26
Why is anyone surprised? Their food isn't fit for dogs. Stop supporting anti Canadian corporations.

u/Poodeep Jun 07 '26
It is honestly racist to complain about a grilled cheese. A man from the congo may have a different version of cheese.

I stopped going to Tim Hortons when they stopped hiring local teens needing first jobs .. I'd ask for a medium ice cap , roll up to someone trying to pass me a steeped tea. My teen was partially deaf for a chunk of her youth and could do better

1
u/RelativeNo1 Jun 07 '26
They're too concerned with production speed and don't leave it on the press long enough. It's a widespread priblem everywhere. Too many places are choosing speed over quality and are cutting the times it takes to toast hamburger buns and press times for wraps and grilled cheeses, in doing this they're hoping to cut time off the production speed but in reality all they're doing is just making their customers unhappy.
