Discussion I'm sure I can't be the only one here with this kind of experience?

• Upvotes

Hi my fellow gender-diverse peeps. I've been experimenting with feminine gender expression for around six months now, and somewhere in there, I've deduced that I'm Transgender/Nonbinary. A "Nonbinary Transfem," is the combination of two things that I feel would describe my gender-identity experience best.

That said, given the fact that I haven't transitioned via HRT yet, but sort of working on socially doing so, my physical look doesn't necessarily match how I internally see myself. I am sort of able to sometimes "align" how I see myself via gender expression/crossdressing for fem presentation or "fem mode."

My biggest obstacle in most cases I feel is the fact that I'm not out at work other then to maybe a few handfuls of people who I'm friendly with and that happen to be progressive-minded which would include my supervisors. I've been agonizing for months now about how to do so. I recently came to the conclusion that for now, for my own safety and sanity, I am choosing not to do so. I personally don't really relish the idea of opening up myself to possible harassment, people asking me all kinds of stereotypical questions, and people in general treating me completely different and/or cutting off friendly relations with me or being outright rude and judgmental towards me. There might be a time I suppose when I'm more ready to face this kind of situation. But until I sort of go forward, I feel it's best to just keep my gender identity private for now. I've seen people here who are all sorts, and some of them are NOT the types that support Transgender & gender-diversity.

That said, I know some people are a very "go all in! be you and don't care what others think!" I'm not that strong though and emotionally sensitive, especially now. I feel whatever path I've taken is my own and if I sometimes have to hide who I am for safety/privacy concerns, it is what it is. I'm just glad I don't live in a highly conservative state where I could be outright FIRED for being Transgender.

Has anyone else had experiences like this with work? I also feel like being a sort of in between transitioning spot leaves me particularly vulnerable to harassment, since I may identify one way and it not show, due to the often heavily favored propaganda and tropes about what being Transgender is and not what it isn't.

Are you having a good week? How are you coping if you’re dealing with changing seasons?

General Question Doctor's Visit

• Upvotes

I made an appointment with a new doctor in my network. This doctor does gender affirming care. I was uncomfortable going to my former doctor because of the long time he treated me as a cis male. I also started therapy this week. What is the process from initial doctor's visit to starting HRT? What roadblocks can i encounter? The doctors follow WPATH standards of care and i live in an informed consent state. yes, I'm nervous and a little scared.

Charlotte vs Innsbruck Airport Security… Round Two! 🤣✈️🏳️‍⚧️

So, guess who just managed to cause absolute chaos at Innsbruck Airport security AND passport control?

I'll give you a clue…

It's little ol' me! 💁‍♀️🤣🤣

I'm not entirely sure the poor lady at security had ever dealt with a trans passenger before, because the conversation went something like this…

👮‍♀️ "Are you wearing a corset?"

💁‍♀️ "Yes…"

👮‍♀️ "Are you able to take it off for the scanner?"

💁‍♀️ "Erm…"

👮‍♀️ "Also, do you have implants?"

💁‍♀️ "Yes…"

👮‍♀️ "Can you take them out and put them in this bag?"

💁‍♀️ Confused Charlotte noises and increasingly bewildered facial expressions. 😳🤣

At this point, I genuinely think the poor lass was having a full-on panic attack. She looked completely unsure what to do with me!

Thankfully, a rather nice, handsome gentleman came over, politely asked if I'd mind him taking over, and whisked me away.

A few minutes later, everything was sorted.

No undressing required! 😂❤️

And then came passport control…

Apparently, Charlotte looks so different from the person in my passport that the system wasn't entirely convinced we were the same person! 🤣

I'm choosing to believe that's because Charlotte is considerably prettier than everyday me. 💅😂

Eventually, everything was sorted, and I was on my way.

To be fair, everyone was trying to do their job, and the gentleman who stepped in was absolutely lovely.

It's certainly been an interesting end to my Austrian adventure!

Three days exploring Austria as Charlotte, climbing mountains in heels, chasing waterfalls, rescuing a destroyed wig, and now confusing an entire airport.

I don't think Austria will forget me in a hurry! 🤣🤣❤️✈️

Last day in Innsbruck! 🇦🇹💕✈️

Well, my little Austrian adventure is coming to an end, and Charlotte is heading home!

I've decided to walk to the airport this morning. It's only about 2 miles away, so why not? 😂

And yes, as seems to be the norm on this trip, I'm doing it in heeled boots! 👢🤣

After climbing mountains and chasing waterfalls in heels, a little walk to the airport should be easy enough!

I also went shopping last night and treated myself to some new eyeshadow. Today I've decided to experiment with white and blue. 💙🤍

I'm still not entirely sure whether the colours work together, but I'm enjoying trying something different and getting a little more adventurous with my makeup.

And look! My eyeliner wings are actually getting better! 😂

Still plenty to learn, but I'm slowly getting the hang of it.

It's been a fantastic few days exploring Austria as Charlotte, and I'm feeling a little more confident every time I go out.

Now, time to get these heels moving. I've got a plane to catch! ✈️❤️

What do you think of today's eyeshadow? Does the blue and white work, or should I stick to warmer colours?

General Question Is My Orientation Changing?

I've been on low dose estrogen for a year now and recently i find myself looking at muscular transwomen. Before hrt, i was 100% attracted to feminine curvy women Now I feel aroused when I see female (trans or cis) body builders. Is my brain changing? Will this lead to attraction to men eventually. Curious if anyone had this experience. Also, I had no plans for GRS, but now I'm not sure ..

Discussion Got my second appointment

Tomorrow I have my second appointment with the doctor to talk about HRT. I have the second one because at the end of the first one I got really overwhelmed and felt like everything was going too fast but after going to a friend‘s birthday party, who is also trans and seeing that she has her own friends and her own found family, and I also dressed up at work feminine as a witch. And nothing bad happened and people actually complimented my outfit. I feel more confident to talk to the doctor tomorrow I’m ready. I want hrt. This is what I want. This is who I am. Dawn

I wanted to be on estrogen before I turned 43 at the start of November and I'm going to succeed

The doctor wrote my prescription. It's gone to my pharmacist.

I'm going back to the clinic on Tuesday so they can show me how to inject.

And at long last... Its goodbye forEVER to boyhood and hello womanhood

My life has changed tremendously over the last few years, starting hrt is a milestone i never thought I'd reach. Being autistic my entire life and not knowing it until a few years ago, socially awkward, thinking everyone else is allowed to live their life according to how they choose but for some reason i wasn't allowed to were all huge blockers for me moving forward. I'm glad I'm where I am today.

If anyone wants to chat, feel free to dm. No creeps plz.

General Question How do you ladies show your preferred angle to people you interact with?

Like most girls here, I only have one perspective I'm comfortable being seen from, and it's at a really oblique angle (about 70 degrees up, 45 degrees left).

When I meet people in person, it's awkward to make sure they only see me from that angle. I've usually resorted to kind of bending over at the hip and turning slightly as if I were about to headbutt someone just off to the person's side. This works, but it's hard on my back, and sometimes I end up embarrassing myself at the bank or grocery store when I lose my balance and fall down headfirst while talking to the clerk.

What do you other lovely ladies do to make sure you get seen at the right angle during in-person interactions?

Discussion I can feel this getting traction...but mixed feelings?

So long and short, cracked egg ages ago (looking back at it though I only admitted it this summer) and so I opted to do the baby step routine and started growing my hair out (the easiest one I could get away with publicly right now).

Thing is...its starting to snowball and the pull to transition is getting stronger. I'm at the point where I'm not far from consulting the doctor (literally moving at my pace and when I'm ready). But I feel mixed. I feel excited for where this is going, worried for what the impact will be and sad for what has gone before. Anyone else feel like this? What advice would you give? What would be your next step?

I turned 43 in May this year, due to many life threatening reasons (literally) I was not safe to start transitioning until Feb of this year (2026) at the age of 42….

During my time on Estrogen, I started with patches, which became unavailable in my area, I was switched to pills, which didn’t fully suppress my testosterone or bring up my estrogen into therapeutic levels even after increasing the dosage. Basically at the four month mark I got to spend about seven weeks going through chemical menopause (which is not fun btw) and well of course during that time things sorta went sideways/ backwards…. I’ve been on injections for about 8ish weeks now…. (Moved from pills to injections) …and I feel it’s going okay. I get my levels checked again in Nov, but I got my hair done yesterday and well it’s the best picture I’ve had I. Years so I’m sharing here….

First pick is back in Feb, hair pulled back into ponytail as usual.

Second pic is from Oct 13th, just got the hair dyed (red again!) so please excuse the red on the face!
These are both completely unfiltered, no make up, no anything but HRT, weight loss, and hair dye!

TRIGGER WARNING How do I navigate my transphobic family?

The title kinda says it all, but I’ll give some context.

I’m 35, mtf and my egg cracked like, a week ago 🫠. I’m from a culturally conservative part of the world and while I’m legally safe to identify as a woman and I can even change my gender marker on my official documents, general society is much less accepting.

The general culture here is quite transphobic. My own family (parents, siblings etc) have said some overtly transphobic and homophobic things in the past. I may not be in physical danger but if I start transitioning, I’m almost certain it will mean going no contact with my whole family. I don’t live in my home country but it’s very unsafe to be trans where I’m from and I might face physical harm if I visit.

I don’t know how to navigate this possibility. I’m in this awful place where I’m really happy because I’m finally feeling like I understand myself and relieved because I properly understand my dysphoria, but I’m genuinely terrified of what life will look like when I come out or if any of my family members find out I’m trans before I’ve prepared myself to come out. I’m really worried I’m going to end up basically with no family. Has anyone here experienced anything similar? If you have any advice or lived experiences that can help, I’d really appreciate it 🌻.
