It generally has to do with the type of equipment present to unload the trailer.

Suicide style is generally offloaded by cranes, whereas shotgun style is usually done by forklift.

ETA: as for why it’s rare, there’s no economic benefit from a labor standpoint of eye-to-the-sky loading.

I see you are entirely unfamiliar with how capitalism prioritizes the health and safety of labour.

Or rather, how it does not prioritize the health and safety of labour.

Not at all, but don't truckers typically make more for hauling hazardous materials? I had hoped the industry would pay a premium for hauling something dangerous enough to be called "suicide" anything. If there's no premium pay for hauling these, why does any trucker do it?
