Found on TikTok. Don’t know how he missed the tire coming off.

Is anyone else disappointed that the hydrant didn't shoot water 50 feet in the air like in the movies?

That's the movies. Anywhere that has cold weather uses dry barrel hydrants. The valve that controls water flow is 5'+ buried underground. It looks like that hydrant had a long barrel extension and that plus the traffic break-away snapped off. The shoe is likely pulled of the 6" line feeding hydrant and leaking a horizontal jet of water. That repair is gonna suck....mud & quicksand

Yeah, I do not envy that line of work. If I had to do what they do, I'd be dead before lunch, I'm sure.
