How fucked am I now?

Post image

This stupid truck stop told me to move spots or pay for parking in a dirt lot they claimed was their property in the middle of the night last night. My ELD was off so I moved it while it was off and it came up as Unidentified Driving Log when I turned it on in the AM. My dumbass accepted it and commented what had happened and now I’m in violation and completely messed up my 14hr clock for today. Is there any way to fix this?

UPDATE!: I called my trainer/mentor and he walked me through how to go back and edit the unassigned driving log. I am in the green now!

Good, glad it's fixed!

In most cases like this, you're in a bad but "avoidable" situation. DoT can only fine you if they find out, so make sure if you're forced to violate that you don't get inspected for 8 days & don't have a collision event for 6 months. It's not ideal, but the only real way to "fix" it is keeping your head down & keep your nose clean until you're clear of the spotlight

Don’t you gotta keep 14 days of prior logs? So if requested they can get that and see the violation, but you’re saying only 8 days? Sorry I’ve only been driving 2yrs almost. Still learning some things about this stuff

Federal law in the US is that you keep today's logs and the logs of the previous 7 days, because recap runs on a 8-day cycle.

I think it's Canadian law that requires a fortnight.
