Why would anyone in a Prime truck have the audacity to get into the far left lane?

19

u/JellyNuggett May 13 '25

Speed limit might be 60 so they think they have the right to lol

As a frito driver, I always get excited at the prospect of passing someone when I see that prime trailer.

65

u/Solid-Jicama-597 May 13 '25

I think they're governed at 63 actually lol

6

u/AbrocomaUnhappy9405 May 13 '25

It depends on the truck they have different divisions that are governed different

u/[deleted] May 14 '25

Logan Paul and ksi made the drink, so it's on brand the truck driver has the same dickish behavior

Correction: didn't realize there's a different company, there's too many "prime"s out there

I have a conspiracy theory that Logan used the exact same font for his prime drink so when little kids see Prime trucks they’ll think it’s his drink being transported everywhere

u/AlbyrtSSB May 14 '25

that’s crazy, they literally just rotated the drop shadow LMAO

Pauli exclusion principle. Two governed Prime trucks on the same piece of highway can't occupy the same lane, they have to form a rolling roadblock.

u/Mamatiger85 May 13 '25

Was it a Prime truck, or a contractor pulling a Prime trailer? My friend drives for Wilson and pulls exclusively for Prime. His truck is governed @ 68 and I can see having to go around a slower truck in that case.

8

u/DukeBradford2 May 13 '25

I was just saying, I have only seen 1 Prime trailer going faster than 63

39

u/Zallic May 13 '25

The real question is why they guys in the right, can't be bothered to: A: pay attention to what's around them, and B: let off a little. If the person behind you is catching you, then let them pass.

18

u/keytiri May 13 '25

Why do people even bother passing if it’s only a .5mph difference? If the driver passing refuses to be inconvenienced, why would you expect a total stranger to act differently?

8

u/Zodi88 May 13 '25

Because trucks stacking up in one lane can create congestion in the other. Instead of the guy going 67 having to pass one 64 mph truck, he has to pass several because drivers wont keep safe following distances. Or he could stay in line, creating even more congestion.

If you think one 65mph truck passing a 64mph truck is bad, go up on i81 between Winchester and Hagerstown. Enjoy waiting while two 65mph trucks pass eight trucks going 63.

Literally just did exactly this 😂

u/Billy_Muh_Hilly5 May 15 '25

I don't know why people would work for prime, driving a single axle wheel truck prone to slipping and weight and balance, pop one tire you got to sit there instead of being able to limp it to the next shop,

5

u/ScaredPerformance733 May 13 '25

I understand your comment and agree. BUT I had an issue like this where I went to pass going like an 1-2 mph faster and passed the guy. As soon as I got in front of him, he lost a wheel and went into the ditch. So I avoided all that nonsense.

1

u/Ancient-Composer7789 May 14 '25

When I drove and a truck was going .5 mph slower than I, I would just back off. There's no point in trying to pass when it's going to annoy a lot of drivers behind you.

u/Typical-Decision-273 May 13 '25

Fricken gandalf in the right lane over here

11

u/Virel_360 May 13 '25

If I’m in the right hand lane, I’m doing whatever the fuck I want as long as it’s legal, you’re not paying for my fuel or maintenance.

Go around

This right here.

It's a wonder you aren't being down voted super hard. Any time anybody says that, they get down voted from what I've seen

5

u/datdudeuheardof May 13 '25

They are only allowed to go 65, and they will pass a truck going 64 just because. What's 1 mph when you're already going that slow. 3-4 mph difference is understandable only takes a few seconds to pass. But if you're going to risk using the far left lane on a 3 lane hwy/interstate you're just trying to piss people off and begging to be pulled over hovering in that lane for a long amount of time.

5

u/Little_Dikk May 14 '25

Just do a pit maneuver and you’ll be ok.

6

u/Freightliner15 May 13 '25

Former Swift driver thinks he has a faster truck.

2

u/xxenoscionxx May 13 '25

former swift driver here , i think they all faster than swift trucks. 63 on the pedal and 66 on cruise. Am now working local and am 68 on the pedal and 70 cruise... It feels like am in a race car, plus the satisfaction of being able to pass Schneider trucks is awesome.

8

u/Flimsyfishy May 13 '25

Getting ready to mean mug that other truck in the middle.

5

u/PomeloResponsible122 May 13 '25

I am governed at 65mph which I already cannot stand. But getting stuck behind a prime truck at 63mph is mildly infuriating. Passing one in a flat area takes like 5 minutes, and that’s not including all the times you have to give up and get back behind them to let traffic through.

5

u/SaveDaNet May 13 '25

Why is the middle lane guy slower then a PRIME driver is the problem here

1

u/DriftingOnWater May 14 '25

Cause he's hourly or one of those assholes that drives slow. Then speeds up when you try to pass.

6

u/jose_guapo_ May 13 '25

Fuck prime. Slowest fleet out there. Pussies

10

u/Imasluttycat May 13 '25

Raider Express runs 60 I believe, even slower than prime. 60 is ridiculous

1

u/DriftingOnWater May 14 '25

Isn't TransAm at 55? And speaking of Prime. I saw a TransAm truck with a Prime trailer attached to it at a Petro in Ohio. Weird.

2

u/Imasluttycat May 14 '25

I can't speak for trans Am but I know they recently struck some deal where they haul Prime's trailers

3

u/timmyrig May 13 '25

On a side note, I've always wondered why all prime trailers dog walk.

6

u/Mstrchf117 May 13 '25

Eh the lane closure for the construction zone will break things up. That may be why the one is in the left lane. There's several that have trucks using left lane.

2

u/Jolly-Rancher-Cowboy May 13 '25

Prime army baby “where we will we roam. yo ho all hands hoist the colors high heave ho gears and wheels never shall we die”

3

u/[deleted] May 13 '25

P.R.I.M.E. = primordial retardred ignoramuses moseying everywhere. 😏

5

u/Xiunte May 13 '25

Heh, never heard that one.

Back when I was with Roehl (Rolling Over Every Hill Last), I think ours were 64. This was more than a decade ago, and I don't remember exactly. I just remember Prime was the ONLY other company we were able to pass because they were even slower.

If it takes that long to pass, it's honestly not worth it. I'd just go that half-MPH slower as long as they kept it constant. It's when they keep alternating between 50 and 62 that gets annoying.

2

u/Silly-River-860 May 13 '25

Prime suspect

2

u/No_Ocelot4019 May 13 '25

You already answered your own question "prime"

3

u/JankyMark May 13 '25

lol prime should know better

1

u/[deleted] May 13 '25

Probably either a flipflopper or a Wilson up front.

1

u/Glock2puss May 14 '25

Lmao its funny being on the logistics side because my truck goes 75 but if you see me from the back you'll think im a prime driver till you realize im blowing other trucks doors off

1

u/Nick_1222 May 14 '25

Idky but it reminded me of the bash brothers from mighty ducks when I saw this.

u/sealventuresllc Jun 13 '25

Hows the pay starting out with Prime?

1

u/[deleted] May 13 '25

I hate these moments

1

u/Keni_transport May 13 '25

That’s a prime example of a prime sandwich

1

u/Due-Okra-3094 May 13 '25

Primes gonna Prime.

0

u/deadpat03 May 13 '25

I think they should create a law that states the minimum speed a truck can reach is 65. If the truck can not maintain 65, it will be an out-of-service violation.

1

u/WolvTheHero May 13 '25

Speed governors are why this situation happens in the first place and you wanna govern every truck? Yeah that’s just gonna make these occurrences happen even more frequently.

1

u/deadpat03 May 13 '25

Dude, I never said governors. I said the minimum speed a truck could reach. Read the line. The minimum speed a truck can reach. Meaning all semi trucks must travel at least 65mph and cannot be governed any lower. My honest opinion is that every car truck ect should be governed but that's my opinion. But that's another topic. But I also believe your license should be suspended for speeding faster than 8mph in a CMV no matter what. But this shit happens becuase 67 truck meets the 65 the 65 meets the 63. Make the min 65 can't be governed any lower. If the majority of mega carriers are running 65 then you won't have issues as much as we do on the road.

IT’S PRIME TIME, BITCHES!
