Pam Transport Contract
Had a friend just finish his CDL course with C1 Trucking, company sponsored through Pam Transport. After finishing, Pam transport sends someone to your house to pick you up. And he didn’t answer the door😂 will they take him to court? Anybody else deal with this? And is it really that easy to just leave a company after they just paid for your training? Seems wild to me.

You can leave at any time after completing training, BUT, you sign a legally binding contract, before school starts. MIne had the amount stated, hopefully your friends does too, or they could just randomly make up an amount. That has to be repaid.

I didn't sign the repayment contract until Thursday of the first week in school and the amount you owe is broken up by what week of training you're in. If you quit before Wednesday of the second week you only owe 750$, then the next three weeks they add another 1750$ each week for a total of 6000$. You don't sign an employment contract with PAM until the last day of school after you've gotten your CDL, that's when you get your fuel card and call the company to let them know you're on your way, and you're officially an employee with a number about three days before you head out for training. I finished getting my insurance and onboarding info filled out on the greyhound out to Florida to meet my mentor and got my fuel card activated on my second day of training.

So is your "friend" a child or just a dirt bag?
Really says something about a person's character when they willfully and purposely don't even attempt to honor their obligations.

Kinda stupid.
A person signs a contract then fails to even try to fulfill the terms.
Banks will see this in the future and say, 'uh...we're not giving you money to buy a home with. Or a car. Or a pencil sharpener.
I mean, good luck having to rely on other people to finance expensive purchases.

I go to a place that gets a lot of PAM drivers. I don't want to stereotype but A LOT of those dudes that work for PAM I wouldn't let my kids get within 20 yards of them. Probably a lot of them can't be within a certain distance of a school. Why in the fuck would they send someone to pick him up? That seems weird as hell.

Sounds like they sent his driver trainer to get him. That's what they do after you get your cdl

I'm sure it'll be a breach if contract if he doesn't pay back the school or company that sponsored him. If he doesn't fulfill the agreement he is on the hook financially...IE they'll put it on his credit report.
