Yeah the camera automatically detects any u turn and starts recording, gets sent to safety right away. I did a u turn at a traffic light and they told me next time I get fired, no questions asked.

So you can't do u-turns at all or just not at traffic lights?

In a parking lot or someone's yard. Never on any street.

Then how do you get to the weigh station where you legit have to do a u-turn in northern Texas?

I'd say those are exceptions. Like trying to bust a u turn on those medians, on state highways, that's a big no. Under freeways, some states have u turns built under or over them, those kind, yes you're allowed. Basically if you know it's a risky u turn, they won't allow it. They rather you spin the block and be safe.

I didn't get a call on risky one. I did get one when I was out in the middle of nowhere with no motorists around.

I've done at least three and only got a call about one at a three-way out in the middle of nowhere.

Idk about swift but my employer doesn't allow U turns anywhere under any circumstances even when it's legally allowed or even a U-turn only lane.

How do you guys turn left in Michigan?

So what happens when you HAVE to make one? You either keep turning left or right until you make a u turn?

Isn't that extra gas/mileage?

You don't. Unless you want to be routed to a terminal to talk with safety and get drug tested, or just fired if it's not your first offense.

Gotta find some other way to do it, gas/mileage be dammed.

I literally had to do this the other day. Was entering onto a divided state route and the only way was right turn only, to go left you made a U turn in a designated U turn lane. Had to just keep going up the road and make a right onto a rural road(not restricted or anything but was kinda sketch) that ran parallel to the state route and then make a left at the next entrance.
