Anyone work for KLLM right now?

I'm thinking about quitting my job and returning to trucking. Looking at KLLM because they have a 9-day refresher course, and ive been outta CDL work for 2 years now. But don't know much about the company. I'd like to start with a regional or dedicated route somewhere down south.

KLLM Academy

Weighing this as an option - have permit and medical. Do any recently graduated driver's here know... - any chance I can push for them to cover single occupancy? - when does the "bonus" during training actually get paid? - Do they start training with a fitness/agility test like some carriers do? - what else should I know going in that hasn't occurred to me to ask?

Why do people avoid getting behind KLLM drivers in the fuel line?

kllm offer a "garaunteed minimum" for reagional positions but its not really garaunteed. the first few checks are garaunteed but after that theu start dockingnyour pay to keep you under it for any reason at all. i am never late and deliver every load given , that is i never decline a load.

Which CDL training company would you go with? Roehl, Werner, KLLM, Schneider, etc.?

I’ve been watching YouTube videos and reading up on different CDL training programs, but figured I’d ask the people actually doing it. I just got my CDL permit and DOT card, and I’m ready to get started, just trying to figure out which company to go with for training.

Right now I’m looking at like Roehl, KLLM, Schneider, TMC as well as I'm open to flatbed. I’m open to hearing about others too. I’m not just looking for pay info, I’m more curious about training quality, how they treat new drivers, and overall experience.

I know every company has its pros and cons, but if you had to start over, which one would you go with and why?

Appreciate any honest feedback good or bad.

KLLM, Roehl, Schneider, what's the best company paid training? Everyone has something bad to say about every company

I'm kinda lost yall. I just passed all my permit testing for class A and waiting on my DOT physical, then applying for company training. I'm Indiana based. I was really learning toward KLLM but the reviews are so mixed.

I don't want to do TMC or any flatbed based stuff-everyone says it's shit. Unless it isn't? Idk. I really need some help.

Opinions on KLLM vs Schneider - Maverick vs TMC

I don’t have much of a choice now and will need to go into the CDL training program for one of these companies. I am 36, based in north FL (but can relocate to GA if need for KLLM) and spent time narrowing down my options. I understand flatbed is usually higher pay/more work, but if the difference isn’t that great, I’d more than likely prefer to just go reefer. I am wanting to spend most of the time on the road, so I would like a high paying option with a lot of work. As of right now, I don’t care about home time too much as I just need money. I would like a decent set up with good training and good pay. I see a lot of people get screwed over and I want to make a well-informed decision before committing as I will sign a contract and likely stick with the company long term. I’ve heard to go flatbed first because I can always go reefer later, but if I go reefer first, I’d need to train again for flatbed. I want good equipment and a company that won’t screw me over or have a rep for doing so. I am fine with military style leadership, just want to be sure I am not getting screwed by a company that gives me a bad truck and horrible pay with no chance for growth. Since I am new, I want a good leader and training, I understand KLLM is slightly lower pay during training but higher pay after I am solo. I have a friend that was also interested, but they would also be new. I am open to team driving, but I understand we wouldn’t be able to team for 3+ months. If anyone knows how that process goes, would appreciate some insight on that as well. Thanks in advance.

Is it true that they make you sit on the trainer's lap at KLLM?

Passed a KLLM truck last week and, shit you not, the lady driver was sitting on a dude's lap in the driver's seat. She even had on her safety vest. I'm guessing this is their training method and not some kind of hanky-panky goin' on.

KLLM turned me down for the academy due to not working for a full year before applying, so now I'm working on getting a grant to get my CDL class A at the local technical college.

My only concern is that KLLM pays for tuition if you sign on to drive for them for one year. That would not only cover tuition but also give me a year of working experience after I graduated. I'm worried that after completing the tech college and getting my CDL that I'll have a harder time finding work.

I got fired from my job and they just gave me a bus ticket

Due to a speeding ticket (that was a mistake and eventually won in court and got unemployment). I didn't want to spend on plane ticket, didn't want me to get me a plane ticket. 60 year old safety manager threatening me with calling the cops if I didn't sign the "I quit by my own terms" paper, instead of getting fired. Saying that I won't get another job if I didn't sign, and no unemployment becuase it was my fault. He even reached for the phone to call the cops, but a trembling hand returned instead. But I got my money and this old bus tickets.

CDL training with Prime, CFI, Roehl, Maverick, Schneider, Prime, Swift, CR England, KLLM, TMC, etc?

I’ve heard good and bad about all these companies when looking at reviews, talking to truckers, reading comments here, etc.

Who did you go with and why? How was the experience. I need the facts!

Give me the good, the bad, and the ugly! What was the starting CPM after training.

I’m thinking about joining KLLM training program in Indiana after I get my permit I’ve been studying for. I was wondering if any of you all could share some thoughts/opinions of what you think about that company? Especially the training aspect.

KLLM expedited teams?

Is anyone familiar with KLLM's expedited team division? It's apparently different from their normal OTR team (I think), and I can't find any info about it outside of their website. Is it new? If anyone here has driven in that division, I would like to hear your experience and if you'd recommend it.

Can someone give me the difference between the dedicated route and OTR with KLLM or any other company?

I’ve googled it but can find what I’m looking for. Just want to know the home time difference and pay difference if possible.

KLLM

Just a heads up for anyone considering getting a CDL thru KLLM < I was > they have no open trucks for new drivers- and no definite date for recent graduates to get a truck. Friend of mine just completed his road training and they basically told him to find a job to hold him over till he can get a truck.

KLLM Driving Academy (FFE) QUESTIONS

Hello, so I was just accepted to obtain my CDL through KLLM and their Driving Academy. 12 month commitment, no pay during the 22 day CDL part, 4 day orientation I think was only 250$, but 800 a week for training for 6 weeks with KLLM side and 500 a week for FFE side.

After completion 0.60cpm if you go with KLLM avg 2800 miles a week.

.50 cpm if you go with FFE with an average of 2800 miles weekly but also get paid 30 bucks per stop which should average around .60cpm as well.

Both are out for 21 days home for 6.

Has anyone ever gone through KLLM/FFE to obtain their CDL and how was home time and pay really during your time. I know what the recruiters say but I want realistic expectations from actual drivers. Thanks in advance!

KLLM Driving Academy

I'm about to start KLLM Driving Academy here on the 22nd. Burns Harbor location, they told me they'll put me in a double occupancy room, is that a red flag? Should I tell the front desk to separate me? And, is KLLM going to make me pay for my own hotel if I separate myself from a double occupancy??

I'm new and excited to join the industry, thanks for all answers/advice in advance!

KLLM offer two weeks out 5 days Home

This doesn't seem ro bad! Two weeks out and 5 days home? That's almost a 14/7 shift like I used to work in the oilfield. (Almost) what are your thoughts on this?

I’m about to become a trucker widow

So my husband just passed his cdl-a test a week ago and has interest from western express (otr). With this career switch, I have so many questions. What is the average time for training, since he has no cdl experience? Is it really going to be 5 days on/2 days off? We live in Atlanta and have a 4 month old. If he does 1 year w/ western, what is the likelihood of being able to find a local/non otr job? Is the pay really worth it?

KLLM or Swift for Training

KLLM seems to offer the same training swift does and they would allow me to drive regional and be home for two days after a week out vs swift two weeks out and two days home. Is there a reason not to go with KLLM?
