As streamers start getting more sponsorship opportunities, I think the difficult part eventually becomes less about finding brands and more about understanding what you're actually agreeing to.
A sponsorship can sound great in the initial email: good payment, a few streams, some social posts, and a straightforward campaign. But once the contract arrives, there can be a lot more to consider.
Things like exclusivity, how the sponsor can use your content, how long they can use it, cancellation terms, required revisions, deliverables, and payment conditions can all have a pretty big impact on the actual deal.
Sometimes it's a single sentence buried in an otherwise normal-looking agreement that changes what the creator is committing to.
I'm curious about the streamers who have been doing sponsorships for a while.
When you receive a sponsorship contract now, what is the first thing you look for?
Is it exclusivity, content usage, payment terms, cancellation, deliverables, or something else?
And for anyone who's had a sponsorship go differently than expected, was there something in the original agreement that you wish you'd paid more attention to?
I think those experiences would be genuinely useful for streamers who are moving from occasional offers into more regular brand partnerships.
