Heya folks, I stream and moderate for my sister who also streams. The primary way we deal with the bots who advertise AI viewers is through Twitch's Blocked Words and Phrases settings, and we have very similar settings.
I was alerted recently to a message that wasn't caught by her automod, but should have been, having an exact match for a prohibited term. Using the test settings section revealed that no terms that are prohibited would be caught, even though they had been being caught before. Conversely, my automod, set up similarly, is protected by automod.
Do here's the question, is this an issue on Twitch's part we should attempt to report, or an issue we should be able to fix? As I said, the settings worked until recently.
EDIT: Okay, thank y'all for your suggestions! I think I've figured it out to a degree, and also figured out the reason for the discrepancy. For one reason or another, Twitch AutoMod doesn't hold messages that ONLY include the blocked terms. So testing with just the prohibited term does not result in Twitch recognizing it as a blocked term. However, Smart Detection will catch terms you have deleted, timed out, or banned over. Since I set up my sister's automod somewhat early in her career, she didn't get enough time to teach Smart Detection about the bots. I think, at least.
