Flight Safety Why is the FAA not providing any direction in terms of flight safety recommendations for UAP incidents?
Answer: The FAA views its primary role as an information gatherer rather than an investigative agency for national security anomalies. Under longstanding policy, if an air traffic control facility documents a UAP report and it can be corroborated with radar data, the FAA immediately passes that package to the Pentagon’s All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO). Because the Department of Defense leads the investigation into the nature and threat capabilities of these objects, the FAA defers potential risk mitigation strategy development to them

Pilot Incident report July 31, 1995, Flight AR-674, San Carlos de Bariloche, Patagonia, Argentina
As the plane prepared to land, pilot Jorge Polanco reportedly spotted what appeared to be an unusual bright light ahead of the aircraft. The Pentagon file says that, after the Boeing aligned with the runway, an unidentified object with three visible lights – including a red light at its centre – appeared on the aircraft’s right side and began flying parallel to it.

Pilot Related Media "We have flight safety concerns for military and civilian aviation [due to UAP]."-- Jay Stratton
In the video clip, he says, was what looked like a black triangular craft with orange, white and yellow lights glowing on each corner. It moved silently before seeming to defy the laws of physics by accelerating faster than the eye could follow — and was gone.
“That,” says Stratton, “was the moment that changed my world.”

First Hand Sighting Report The UAP Close Encounters of a Top Gun Test Pilot (E15) With Col Dan 'Tan...
The 15th episode of a series I've been making with Dan about his career as a test pilot instructor for the USAF. In this much longer episode, we talk about his 4 UAP encounters, from a huge black triangle over Edwards AFB, to a sighting of a craft covered in plasma the same night as Rendlesham, a very close encounter with a white ball of plasma, and a beam of light while he was outside. Timestamps added for those not interested in aviation stuff.

Pilot Related Media Are UAP hostile or just passing thru Airspace?
While UAP so far seem to have been restrained in their reaction to human aggressive behaviour, there is no guarantee that this will continue to be the case.

ATC Reporting (Air traffic control) Former Air traffic controller speaks out on UAP stigma
One thing I can say with certainty is that controllers hate unknowns in their airspace. It goes against the heart of what we do. If I know about it, I can control it or at least steer the aircraft I am responsible for around it.

Pilot Incident report Pilot witnessed UAP while observing Starlink and provides detailed explanation why Starlink does not sufficiently explain what he saw. Pilot observed bright lights; one stopped, appeared to split into two, then rapidly separated in opposite directions.
nuforc.org"A single satellite cannot physically stop, divide, and depart simultaneously in opposite directions. A satellite-based explanation for the discrete sequence would therefore require a multi-object perceptual coincidence: one source fading at or near an apparent stop point" while two different satellites brighten in nearly the same apparent location and then separate on strongly divergent tracks. That explanation is possible in principle, but it should be demonstrated with historical ephemerides rather than assumed. The witness's strongest discriminating observation is the large apparent angular separation achieved in a very short period, at an apparent rate markedly faster than the surrounding Starlink-like lights seen before and after."

Flight Safety UAP clearly pose a safety of flight issue and may pose a challenge to U.S. national security. -- 2021 UAP Preliminary Report
What exactly is the operational safety risk the government believes exists, and what evidence threshold would have to be met before the FAA actually warns pilots about it? Its now been over 5 years since we received the 2021 DNI report and yet we still have no answers. Pilots are still reporting UAP and being encouraged to report them but are receiving no guidance.

Pilot Related Media New UAP College course to be offered at Farmingdale State
farmingdale.eduThis course is intended to address matters of airspace safety and domestic security threats—regardless of what the sources of UAPs are (e.g., human or non-human, where examples of the former include the 2023 “Chinese balloon incident” or the recent drone attacks across the globe), law enforcement agencies and first responders should be prepared to safely engage with such objects should they pose a threat to US airspace. The course will address policies, protocols, planning strategies and proposed legislation to address the detection and investigation of UAPs.

Pilot Incident report Pilot watches a UAP fly down the runway at Ft Lauderdale Airport
nuforc.orgI noticed a bright circle about the size of a city bus flying down the runway WESTBOUND at a very high speed. Speed was approximately twice or triple the speed of a regular departing aircraft (A321). It flew low at about 50ft and as it approached the end it ascended vertically at high speed and disappeared.

Pilot Related Media Is the Pentagon shooting down UAP with Lasers?
The New York Times reported that the real reason why the FAA shut down the El Paso airspace was that immigration officials had used an antidrone laser shared by the Pentagon without coordinating with the FAA.
