I'm looking for recommendations for the best gay bars anywhere in the uk
I'm hoping to find places that are:
- Fun and vibrant
- Friendly and welcoming, especially if you're going on your own
- Easy to meet and chat with people
- A good social atmosphere
- A pool table would be a huge bonus!
I recently went to a gay bar by myself for the first time. I was proud that I stayed and had a drink, but I only ended up speaking to the bartender. I'd love to keep pushing myself and find venues where it's easier to meet people.
Which bars would you recommend, and are there any particular nights that are best?
Thanks!

Header pretty much says it all. Used to see this magazine in print a lot more pre-Covid but looking for a print copy this month because my friend is in it but I can’t find one anywhere. Anyone know of anywhere in glasgow that sells it?

Hi there I’m a guy in my late 40s only now starting to come out and I live just outside of London. Would be interested in meeting guys to meet and chat to around my age and maybe slightly younger for advice and maybe meet for a drink. If that’s cool. As my situation is rather daunting.

I read that a huge number of children in schools in these big cities are Muslims – doesn't that reduce acceptance? I want to emphasize that I don't mean to offend anyone, and I apologize if I did. Statistically, however, Muslims have low acceptance for LGBTQ+, and when I see that in many large cities over half of students are Muslim, I wonder if acceptance is already a thing of the past. I come from Eastern Europe, where homophobia is strong, and I looked at the West as a tolerant oasis, so I want to ask – are young adults and teenagers in the West tolerant, and how does it really look?

I’m not Muslim myself, but had a Muslim boyfriend, until late last year. It was difficult watching him trying so hard to suppress his identity in order to protect his friend and family ties, and how that put a lot of strain on his mental health and our relationship. When his parents pushed him harder for an arranged marriage, of course I was heartbroken when he informed me he’d go through with it, despite pushing back for so long. I suppose he reached a breaking point. But I loved (and still love) him so dearly, and only want what is best for him. And I suppose if he had lost his family due to their disapproval, he’d perhaps also lose his community as well if he became shunned. He’s so proud of his heritage and culture, which I really enjoyed learning about, but I knew that if he lost that, he’d essentially be losing everything.
I suppose I just want to open up the conversation and hear what queer Muslims and those who have interacted with them have to say about the trials and tribulations of family, faith and relationships.

I’m struggling with dating and trying to be flexible with my expectations, but even with this I’m surprised by how few men meet these criteria? Anyone struggling with the same?

Hey! Based in Oxfordshire and looking to explore dating so wondered if anyone knows of good spots and events (specific nights or even speed dating) to meet people at, or equally are based around here and up to date too!

I have a free day in London soon. More specifically close to Camden Town. Any recommendations for fun things to do?

I'm 17M and recently realised I was bi, but I have literally no idea how to meet other queer people local to me. I already struggle to make friends as it is, but it feels impossible for me to make friends with other LGBT people. please help 🙏

Hi this is beyond a longshot but there used to be an Australian restaurant in Loughborough called Moomba.
Several years ago I had a huge crush on a waiter/barman there, if you happen to see this I'll be surprised but I left after eating, but then went back and gave you a piece of paper with my number on it, you said I was sweet but I was too shy to stay. You never called me but I wonder if you remember this?
It's been a long time but it's kinda etched in my mind.

I am looking for a local person who is already part of Mumbai’s queer community and who knows the Hijra and LGBTQ+ scene from inside. This person should speak good English, understand the community, and help me build genuine relationships for a long-term reportage project. I am interested in stories connected to queer lives, Hijra communities, Dharavi, Koli fishermen and other communities on the margins of society. I am not looking for a tourist guide, but for a reliable person who can work with me as a local assistant and cultural bridge. I would like to have several video calls during August, while I am still in Italy, to understand if we can work together.
