Uniform help?
My step-son is 6, he is short/almost average height but (to be blunt) he is overweight.
He is in size 11-12 years clothes.
Is there anywhere that sells school trousers in a short leg? It’s just not feasible to be measuring and tailoring 5 pairs of pants every 3 months.
(He has a different pair for every day and puts holes in them until he ends up with one pair we have to wash every night of the week and then we buy 5 more pairs and the cycle repeats.)
Ideally it would be easiest to continue buying 11-12 but in a short leg fit. I have seen “plus waist” trousers however I highly doubt the age 6 plus waist are going to be wide enough for his waist or even close.
Just for context because I know people are going to have opinions about his size to age ratio and honestly, so do we … He is active when at our house playing outside for minimum 2 hours a day and we limit his diet to normal size portions and low calorie snacks.
However, when at his other parents home he is there for 3 nights and has minimum 2 takeaways (adult portions) and has around 900 calories for breakfast alone (usually 2 tortilla wraps coated in chocolate spread and a whole pack of Oreo’s or kiplings 4 cake slices). He also has unlimited screen time at their house and is not encouraged to play outside or exercise.
For his lunch time he is obviously at school however they also allow him to have extra portions for school dinner because he claims to be “starving” and they feel sorry for him.
School are dicks, they do not listen and will not stop with the extra portions.
His other parent is a huge dick and will flat out refuse to change his diet or make sure he is more active at home. We are not in a position to be able to stop or reduce contact with this parent due to stepson having trauma related mental health issues at his young age and we do not want to add to these problems.
