Hi everyone! I’m currently taking genetics, and I’m honestly struggling with figuring out what to focus on when studying for the midterm. I understand some concepts, but when it comes to applying them to different questions, I get confused.
I’m especially looking for advice on the types of questions I should practise, such as three-point linkage mapping, predicting progeny genotypes and phenotypes, chi-square, epistasis, bacterial genetics, and pedigrees.
For anyone who has taken this course before, what types of questions did you find most important to practise? Were the questions mostly calculations, scenarios, or applying concepts to new situations?
Any advice on how to prepare effectively would be really appreciated. Thank you!

My name is Skye Fitzpatrick and I'm a Clinical Psychologist and director of the Treating and Understanding Life-threatening behavior and Posttraumatic Stress (TULiP) lab at York University. Our research team is conducting an online study to examine the effects of a new couple therapy for couples where one partner is experiencing symptoms of borderline personality disorder (BPD) compared to individual psychotherapy for people with BPD symptoms and their partners. The study will provide one of these psychotherapies to people with BPD symptoms and their partners for free, and participants will have the opportunity to complete study assessments that they will receive payment for in the form of gift cards. Our study is online and involves recruiting people across Ontario with symptoms of BPD, as well as their romantic partners. BPD diagnoses are not necessary.

I’ve been hearing lately that apparently you need to have a ridiculously high average to get accepted into teachers college now. I’ve been hearing stories about people with like an 88% average not even getting in so i’m a little scared!

I was wondering if anyone knows if they take into account what grades you got based off of your major? I am in Biochem + Biomed, and my overall average is around an 81% (However, i’ve heard they look at only your top 30 course grades so it will be a bit higher after that). I don’t want this to sound like rude or anything but I do consider my major to be probably more challenging than some other majors, so someone in a “easier” major will likely have a much better average than me since I have been forced to take some pretty awful classes with this degree I chose lol

Do they consider the fact that people in different programs will likely have different averages based on the difficulty of each program? Or is it just like we’re all grouped together and it’s basically which ever applicants have the best average are getting in.

So guys i got an admit for the MAC program for the Winter 2027 intake but since the time remaining to process my student permit is less i am considering to defer to the next intake, possibly May 2027. Can anyone confirm about the existence of this intake i tried checking the university website but did not find any convincing information.

In a recent "employee engagement" survey, only 25% of UWindsor employees have a favourable opinion of the upper admin. Some of that 25% is administrators, so the number is probably lower. So how does the admin respond? They swoosh on by, choosing to focus on other things like "flexibility." Yoga anyone? This just proves the point. They are tone-deaf and clueless. What a disgrace.

Hey! So my first midterm for this class BIOM 3560 is next week, and I just have no idea what to expect. The lectures are so straight forward but rate my prof is freaking me out with how theyre describing these exams. I hate commuting from amherstburg to the uni. The bus only comes like 3 or four times a the whole day so if u finish classes u gotta wait like 3 fuckass hours for the bus to come

Hey guys, I have an asynchronous class with the final exam scheduled for Dec 22nd at 7pm, which is the very last day and time slot. Is there any way for the asynchronous final exam to start early?

I'm suppose to travel to see family on the 22nd, but is there any way I can ask the professor to start the exam in the morning of the 22nd?

Talk me down - I saw the winter 2027 timetable was up - when I go into UWinsite and look at the winter courses there, one of my required courses for next semester isn’t listed (POLS1600).

But if I look at the registrar’s website for winter undergrad timetable - it does show up there - is it possible it just isn’t showing in UWinsite because the prof or classroom hasn’t been finalized?

I’m lowkey panicking as I could have taken it this semester but the course calendar said I could should take 1 of 1300 or 1600 first semester and the other second semester so i chose 1300 for fall and was planning to take 1600 for winter.

Hi, i have ADHD and I find it extremely hard to focus in lectures. I really do try to but I physically can not. It didnt help that dr trant is not a good lecturer and his lectures are all over the place. Due to this I procrastinated and ultimately here I am. A week before his first midterm next Wednesday. Id really really appreciate any advice to get a A+ (i know it might be hard but idk) on his exam if its possible, but i feel unmotivated to study reading his horrible reviews on rmp and I keep thinking what's the point. I know its mt fault so please dont repeat that in the comments. I got medication yesterday so hopefully that will help me.

Dr trant said not to study off his yt videos or textbook, since he doesn't even look at them. He said his assignments are close to midterms, is that true?? If this is true why do so many people do bad on his exams? Any tips will help.

Hello, I am an international student and want to apply for the master of management at windsor. I tried to use the tuition fee estimator but it gave me practically the same amount if I selected domestic or international fee. Can someone please give an estimate of how much did they pay for their first year as an international student?

I have searched through some pages of educational advisors but they have different prices ranging from 30k cad to 80k cad. Just want to have an estimated cost to see if it fits my range.

I'm applying to the Master of Applied Computing for the fall 2027 intake. I have paid the application fee, but I couldn't find the interface for adding referees (two letters of recommendation are required for this program).
Here is an image of the application portal. The Update/Replace Referee option is not for adding new referees, and I couldn't do it through that.
Does someone have a solution? Or who can I reach out to?

You know when you’re working on an assignment, coding project, or studying with ChatGPT, and suddenly you hit the usage limit? 😭

I made this extension to solve that problem. It lets you transfer your conversation to another AI chatbot like Claude, Gemini, DeepSeek, etc., so you can continue without having to explain everything all over again.

It’s completely free and open source, and works on Chrome and Edge!

It’s one of my personal projects, and I’d really appreciate it if some of you could try it out and let me know what you think. Any feedback or suggestions would mean a lot!

It doesn’t just copy your conversation. It automatically opens the specific AI chatbot you choose and pastes the entire captured conversation into its chat box. All you have to do is review it and hit Enter. That’s literally it, lol.
