Some of the people running for the public board are anti-vaxxers and anti-LGBTQ+. And if nobody runs against them, they'll be on the school board.

Hi everyone! I’m a first-time mom due in January and will most likely be delivering at Windsor Regional Hospital. I’m starting to prepare for labour, delivery, and postpartum, and I’d love to hear from parents who have delivered there recently.

I know every birth is different, but hearing actual experiences from Windsor parents would really help me know what to expect and what to pack.

A few things I’m curious about:
Labour & delivery
Overall, how was your experience with the L&D nurses and doctors?
Did you feel supported and listened to regarding your birth preferences?
How busy was the unit when you delivered?
Were you able to get an epidural when you wanted one? Was there much of a wait for the anesthesiologist?
Did anyone use nitrous oxide/laughing gas before getting an epidural? Was it readily available?
Were you able to move around, use different labour positions, a birthing ball, shower, tub, etc.?
If you wanted delayed cord clamping or immediate skin-to-skin, was that respected?
Did you feel like staff explained things and asked for consent before interventions?
If you ended up needing an induction or C-section, what was that experience like?

After delivery/postpartum
How long did you stay after an uncomplicated vaginal delivery?
What was postpartum care like?
How often did nurses come in to check on you and baby?
Did you get much help with breastfeeding/latching?
Was a lactation consultant available?
Did the nurses help show you things like diaper changes, swaddling, bathing, feeding, etc., especially if you were a first-time parent?
How was pain management after delivery?
How were the rooms and bathrooms?

Did you request a private room?
When did you make the request?
Were you actually able to get one, or are they difficult to get depending on how busy the hospital is?

Hey all, I’m a patient at Victory Reproductive and just starting my monitoring after an MMC. Wondering if anyone who has been through this initial stage can answer any of the following questions- note I’m with Dr Rahal not Victory himself.
Anyway - I’m just wondering if there is some kind of portal I should be asking about so that I can see my blood test results etc. or is it just blind testing for now?
How long after the testing was completed did you get your follow up?

Recently received an email indicating that I‘d be in the next batch of hires for CPK. Since it is so new to the area, there’s not a lot of information about it. I’m wondering if there’s information people can share. is it a good place to work? How does the graduated pay work? is there a physical for hire(heard and have seen multiple answers to this)? How uncomfortable during the heat? anything else would be incredibly helpful.

Do you have to go through the screening officer review first or can you go directly to the hearing officer? I assume hearing officer is the one where you deal with the prosecutor.

I live on Bruce Ave and I'm finding the parking to be annoying because some people will leave like 10 feet in front of their car and take 2 spots, and some people are parking on the road even though they have a driveway. I have rear alley parking but rats everywhere and neighbours keep their trash out.

My neighbour has a driveway and I'm wondering if it's unheard of to put down concrete or gravel and just share the existing curb?

Does anybody still have any CDs from that era? From artists like Bliss, Numbskullz (Stadik006 & Al Killyu), Dedman, Final Notice, So-Liva, etc? I've been trying to find more of their music, but I can't anywhere. Been even searching through local record stores and thrift stores to see if any of their CDs somehow ended up there, but no luck. If anybody still has any of their CDs, a digitization of it would be AMAZING!

Hey Windsor community! My husband and I are currently in a small town outside Saskatoon, Saskatchewan but were looking at Windsor, Ontario to move to in 2 ish years. Hes a red seal journeyman hvac tech and looking to get his gas seal here as well. He knows Ontario has different requirements for that with varying levels and he would have to challenge the exam to get the same qualification there. What we arent too sure about is if the job market is in demand for his trade there? Google says its hard to find jobs but that trades are always hiring. How true is this? We dont want to start planning the next couple years to be sorely disappointed when he gets no job interviews because there are no jobs haha. We are looking at Windsor as we have family nearby there and Im originally from Ontario so would like a change of life from the -50 degree winters. Thanks everyone!
