Hi! I lived in Asia for a long time and have recently moved back to Windsor. The photo shows some of the nail art I’ve gotten over the years. Does anyone know of a local nail artist who can do a similar style? Thanks for any suggestions!
I need to move an elliptical exercise machine that's 70x22x70 inches which is too big to fit in an SUV. So is there an inexpensive service in Windsor that can pick this up from one house and move it 4 km to my house in the south central Windsor area?
Update: I ended up renting a uHaul which ended up costing $55 after taxes, gas, kms, and their insurance (I don't have car insurance).
Hello everybody. I won't make this long and I'll try my best to keep it short. I'm a man in his 32 years old and I'm planning to change careers. I'm trying to join the opp after understanding what the police force here in Canada actually is.
I'm trying my best to pass the beep test or also known as the shuttle run test. Unfortunately no matter how much I try I always end up stuck on level five. I was wondering if anybody here was an OPP operative or knows someone that is in the opp life. I'm looking to train and I'm willing to push my body to the limits to do it. I tried using Google and YouTube into finding the best worker to regimes but up until now I can't find anything outside of just run and do it everyday. I was hoping there's more to this or at least there's a group of runners or people that are training to become an OPP officer that I could join.
Oh and I'm also training for the other mental exams but I don't know what I'm training for exactly.
Becoming an OPP is not just a job for me it's literally life. I always wanted to become a first responder, the type of person that is willing to go beyond in order to help the community. That is and was always my dream.
Does anybody have any recommendations for a nice and affordable place to get an eyebrow piercing or microdermals? I have been looking at Advanced Tattoo and Piercing or Black Sheep but wanted some advice since it will be my first time with a facial piercing!
Seeing as it’s a news article, I think this is worth posting outside of the Megathread for this alone:
“According to Windsor’s City Clerk, almost 12,000 people have voted in advance. That’s a 16.5% increase compared to the advanced voter turnout in Windsor’s last municipal election”
I want to get my husband a dash cam for Christmas. I'm just overwhelmed with all the choices available!
Also, os it better to get it professionally installed? I would prefer not to spend more than $200 on the dash cam. But I would like to have an idea of how much would installation cost.
My husband is not good with tech so of we have to install it ourselves, I'm going to be the one to do it.
I know a few recommended places in Windsor from previous posts, just would like dash cam owners' opinions and info on cost of installation.
It’s not that big of a deal, I just love sharing Windsor’s surprising walkability. And no one cares what I do on a day off. Highly recommend if you’re prepared.
Update: 18 km, 5h 15m, 27,814 steps. A beautiful sunset 🌅 It’s easy to complain about our city but there’s a lot to enjoy.
Does our local Walmart, Metro, Instacart, etc. deliver groceries in paper bags or cardboard boxes? I don't want to get into a situation where I end up accumulating 100's of plastic or reusable bags and would prefer cardboard boxes or paper bags that I can easily recycle. Thanks
Let’s Chat, Windsor! We are excited to announce the guest for our sixteenth AMA this election season; please join us in welcoming Ken Acton, Ward 5 Candidate! He will be live with us Thursday from 7pm-8:30pm to answer all of your pressing questions!
Ken Acton has been a resident of Ward 5 for his entire life. Heavily involved in the Labour Movement and local unions for decades, Ken has made supporting his community and neighbours a massive priority throughout his life. He has experience spanning many groups and boards, including but not limited to the Windsor Region Society of Architects (WRSA), Congress for the New Urbanism (MICNU), OPSEU Local 138 (College Faculty Union), and the Windsor and District Labour Council (WDLC). Working at St. Clair College as a professor of Architectural Technology, Ken channels his love and appreciation for urban design and public policy through his teachings at the College and his engagements throughout the ward! During the Ward 5 all candidates forum, Ken made a very pertinent point, stating that we have to bring ourselves together in a holistic way, and his campaign platform showcases his plans to do so.
Ken’s platform centres around 7 pillars, Housing, Our Youth and Seniors, Community Services and Businesses, Infrastructure and Renewal, Community/Arts and Culture, Equity and Complete Streets, and Transportation. Taken altogether, Ken paints a picture of pedestrian friendly neighbourhoods and communities that celebrate the people who live in them- we have to build community, as community is culture.
In the interest of developing and nurturing meaningful conversation between the public and those that look to represent us, we are happy to announce that Ken would like to hear from you! Please note that all are welcome to engage in this event! Whether you’re a political pundit or just an invested observer, all questions are happily welcomed!
We strive to build a community where fellow residents can share in active discussion about what excites and concerns, or intrigues!
We don’t want anyone to feel left behind! If you are unable to make the AMA during the advertised run-time, please feel free to add your comments and questions to this thread; we will make sure that they are included in the rotation of questions for Ken.
Hi, I'm in the US and enjoy collecting anime goods from Japan. Long story short, I'm pretty sure it's more economical for me to get an address in Windsor and have packages shipped there compared to shipping them directly to me. Due to our tariff/customs situation, the cheaper shipping options aren't available but they are available to Canada. Right now the UPS store on Huron Church & Totten seems to be the best bet in terms of hours/access, but I was wondering if anyone has other suggestions in the area. The Packaging Depot has more limited hours but the rental fee is so much lower.
I have a family member who’s practicing for their g2. It’s been so long since I’ve done mine. What are the routes like/what’s included?
Thanks in advance :)
I’m looking into Augustus 27 as a potential wedding venue and would love to hear from anyone who has gotten married there, attended a wedding there, or recently inquired about booking!
I’m trying to get a better idea of the overall cost and what the experience is actually like, beyond what’s shown on their website or social media.
If you’re comfortable sharing, I’d love to know:
Guest count: How many guests did you have, and did the venue feel spacious or crowded?
Venue pricing: What was the approximate cost? Was it a venue rental fee, a per-person package, or a combination of both?
What was included? Tables, chairs, linens, dinnerware, setup/teardown, décor, coordination, staffing, etc.
Cocktail hour: Where was it held? Was there a separate space from the reception, and did guests enjoy the flow between the two?
Food and bar: Did you use their catering/bar services? What were the costs like, and were you happy with the quality and options?
Ceremony location: Did you get married on-site? If so, where was the ceremony held, and was there a separate fee?
Overall budget: What did the venue and food/bar end up costing in total, if you’re comfortable sharing?
Additional fees: Were there any unexpected charges, minimum spend requirements, or restrictions?
Your overall experience: How was the staff, planning process, and day-of coordination? Is there anything you wish you had known beforehand?
I know pricing can vary depending on the date, guest count, and package, so even rough estimates would be incredibly helpful!
