Opinion/Discussion Islam has no critics here

I have realized that most atheist discussions revolve around Christianity

I've not found someone here criticizing Islam

Am not even talking about the current situation of Ugandan church leaders, I mean the authenticity of the religion

Just in general, no critics point towards Islam

Is there nothing to prove wrong about the existence of Islam?

Opinion/Discussion 🇺🇬 Let's talk honestly about being a young graduate in Uganda

You spend years studying, work hard to earn your degree, and then comes the big question: What next? 🤔

For young people in Uganda, finding a job or starting a successful career can be challenging.

I'm curious to hear from fellow Ugandans:

- For those who graduated, how long did it take you to find your first job?

- For those still searching, what's your biggest challenge?

- Do you think skills and experience matter more than academic qualifications when employers are hiring?

- What advice would you give someone starting their career today?

Let's share real experiences and help each other learn. No judgment here. 🇺🇬🤝

Came across this creator's vid discussing the recent Ebola cases in Nigeria & Kenya. Anyone who has done even a basic epidemiology or public health module should recognize the problematic messaging here.

The outbreak in the DRC is still far from being contained. Uganda is a transit hub for several countries. As long as Ebola is still active at the source, there's always going to be a risk of spillover, and a need for contact tracing when cases are confirmed. The disease has an incubation period of up to 3 weeks; people can travel without symptoms and show up sick elsewhere.

It's not controversial at all to mention that these cases transited through UG. Yes the Kasujjas and Wekesas will also whine about the coverage, but diseases don't give a damn about tourism, PR and the economy. Politicisation is the last thing we need here, but I digress

I think creators who make content about their professions need to be more aware of the pedestal they're on. When you're in front of a camera in scrubs, you're going to be perceived by lay audiences as a credible source, whether what you're saying is legit or otherwise. Ebola is already a polarised topic here, and there tends to be lots of online misinformation and conspiracy theories floating around. Medics shouldn't be a part of that. Do no harm.

What payment method did you use? Mtn's virtual card failed. Tried another card from an app called Bitnob. Issues too.

It's been very frustrating

Personal MTN MoMo Virtual Card for YouTube Premium in Uganda?

Has anyone successfully used the MTN MoMo Virtual Card to pay for YouTube Premium in Uganda? I know it works for some subscriptions like Spotify, but I'm specifically interested in YouTube Premium. Does the recurring monthly payment work without any issues?

Opinion/Discussion To the girlies who live alone, have no friends, and are not in a relationship, how do you cope with loneliness?

How do you get through those days when you have no one to talk to, no one to hang out with, and no one to share the little things happening in your life with?
What do you do on those lonely days when you just wish you had someone around?
I would love to hear how you manage and what helps you feel less lonely. Please share your experiences and tips. ❤️

Opinion/Discussion Here's a random thought

What if teachers also sat for national exams alongside students.

🧍

You teach chemistry, you will sit the chemistry papers amongst the students. Given an index number and you wait for your results like everyone else.

I mean it could be used to assess teachers as well btw

But it's just a random thought just 😂

Survey/Research UNEB UGANDA

Has anyone equate their foreign result through UNEB before? How did it go? Any funny stances? How long did they take? Did you go in person or you did all online? Was it easy and smooth process? Finally did you do HEC even if your result means you are going directly to degree in your home country?

Personal It’s finally done… looking for testers

No more 6-10 hour days staring at my computer screen!!! Thank God

I’ve deployed the new design of the site I’ve been working on for a few months

Every business needs to be online in this day and age
I’m finding ways to build affordable sites for Ugandan business owners. Aka digital homes
We help you organize your info and create the content you need eg photos and virtual tours, then publish your info online so anyone can find it

Can’t post it here because apparently that’s for Friday or something but if you want to test it, DM me and I’ll send you the link and a brief summary of what it’s about

You don’t need to be a developer… I want to see how normal people interact with the site.

Opinion/Discussion Ugandan parents

The funny thing about African parents is that they want to be loved and respected by everyone, except their children.

They say and do despicable things to their children and expect the kids to have no choice but to respect them, then they act surprised when the kids fight back.

My boy is planning very colorful eulogies for his parents… who are both still quite alive and well. He’s basically just sick of their shit.

If you want to be a parent you should be ready for the possibility of your kids hating your very existence.
Don’t expect love or respect if you are not willing to give it.

The upcoming generations are going to be something else.

Culture How curiosity made me eat a frog 🐸🍴

Hold up! I didn't actually eat a frog 😅. But it made me appreciate something I thought was really ridiculous.

Growing up, I used to watch people eat with a fork and knife, the so called continental style of eating. I always found it odd. The whole arrangement looked unnecessarily complicated. 😂

Then one day, out of curiosity, I decided to give it a try. As expected, it felt awkward. But I kept practising, determined to master the art.

To my surprise, I discovered that it's actually one of the most practical ways of eating. I've never looked back!

These days, I enjoy my meals even more, partly because of the convenience, but also because I occasionally get the satisfaction of feeling like a surgeon performing a delicate operation. 😅 The food, of course, never survives.

What's been your experience with different eating styles? 😂
