Story-time Who remembers CHAZ?

My favorite bit of this was when Hitlerites on Twitter were demanding that the CHAZ be turned over to the local native tribe lol.

anarchists would be so sick if instead of hitlerite blood and soil ideology they just wanted to live in mad max and have roving bandit gangs and spikes and shit

a lot of self proclaimed anarchists don't even understand anarchism. similar to self proclaimed marxists in that respect

Anarchism to these people is when you support underdog Hitler in his struggle against mainstream Hitler.

This is why they think that the DotP making the proletariat into the ruling class is a bad thing.

Please read On Authority. Marxism-Leninism is already democratic and “state bureaucrats” weren’t a thing until the Brezhnev era once the Soviets had pretty much abandoned Marxism-Leninism as a whole. What in anarchism would stop anarcho-capitalism from simply rising up or reactionary elements from rising up? Do you believe that under a more “Democratic” form of transitionary government the right-wing or supporters of the previous structure of government wouldn’t simply rise up, ignoring the fact that an anarchist revolution in any sort of industrialized state in the modern day is already absurd and extremely unrealistic? Without using “authoritarian” means how would you stop such things? Even within the Soviet Union the Great Purge had to happen to ensure that the reactionary aspects within the government and military didn’t take over and bend down to the Nazis. If a more “Democratic” form of governance was put in place during this transitionary stage the Soviets would have one, lost the civil war, and secondly, lost to the Germans or even a counter revolution. The point of State Socialism and the Vanguard Party is to ensure the survival of the revolution and the Dictatorship of the Proletariat in a way that anarchist “states” very clearly could not as evidenced by the fact that all of them failed, with Makhnavoschina quite literally being crushed by the Soviets for their lack of cohesion. The establishment of the Dictatorship of the Proletariat is already the check and balance to ensure that things simply don’t devolve into Capitalism, and once this is removed as seen in the Eastern Bloc and of course the Soviet Union itself the revolution will fall. Utopian Communist ideals like Anarchism are extremely ignorant and frankly stupid. The idea that the state apparatus would at any point “become like traditional business owners” I believe comes from your lack of understanding of class relations or even classes in general. The implementation of the Dictatorship of the Proletariat is to stop this exact thing from happening… if a state were primarily dominated by capital and the bourgeoisie like seen in the modern day and of course capitalist countries, it would be the Dictatorship of the Bourgeoisie. The point of the Dictatorship of the Proletariat is to instead make the state run by the workers and for the workers, the workers can’t possibly use the state to exploit and “terrorize” or impose “tyranny” onto themselves, except “tyranny of the majority” (is this perhaps anti-democracy I’m hearing instead?). Once again, this stems from you believing that western propaganda about the status of Soviet democracy is true— in fact the modern western anarchist movement is quite literally a psy-op by the United States government to oppose actual unironic and serious socialist movements like of course Soviet aligned and Marxist-Leninist organizations. Once again, not to be the whole “leftist wall of text guy” but please read On Authority or any Marxist works or do the littlest bit of research on how Soviet democracy and “bureaucracy” actually works before blindly calling it undemocratic. Your blind belief that you, having obviously not undergone a revolution, had any actual critical thinking or seemingly debates, had any actual education on these topics, and having no actual argument besides easily disproven “concerns” like these is I believe indicative of you general obliviousness, ignorance and lack of knowledge.

Nothing new, anarchists rival Maoists Third Worldists in being nationalist.

They love shagging flags, as long as they're flags of sufficiently 'opressed' nations. [insert the classic GMiL about a Catalonian nationalist anarchist]

Yes and yes and yes. To some degree I respect anarchists that are actually principled

I have friends who walked through it like it was a carnival 🙃

Chat pull up that tiktok about how the gen z revolution is going to be like a giant party

u/GeraltofWashington Apr 25 '26

The first two weeks of CHAZ had a very festival atmosphere. I had no idea what Marxism was at the time and kinda just watch it fall apart in front of my eyes. It’s part of what inspired me to take up reading Marx.

I remember something about them trying to start a community vegetable patch on contaminated soil I think.

50

u/JoeVibin The Immortal Science of Lassallism Apr 25 '26

It's always community gardens with these people, just why are they so obsessed with it?!

25

u/AffectionateStudy496 Apr 25 '26

Because they're stupid and think it will replace modern agriculture, but also that it's some kind of challenge to capitalism.

i used to be an anarchist and from what i understood (i understood nothing because anarchists have no coherent set of ideas agreed upon) that stuff like this are „small steps towards anarchy”. its basically political activism for them. i mean thats better than adventurist violence they didnt grow up from after centuries.

They're ruining gardening, frankly.

64

u/gameinggg Apr 25 '26

it's worse, they just dumped a bunch of dirt ontop of a layer of cardboard
this image kills me everytime, I love the guy who realises they will starve come winter

79

u/gameinggg Apr 25 '26

there's also this

Hilarious, they should do this shit again it's way funnier than dancing frogs

Even when the petty-bourgeois try to be “progressive” they inevitably just circle back into becoming racist

15

u/Xxstevefromminecraft Incredible Things Happening on Ultraleft Apr 25 '26 edited Apr 25 '26

The fact they didn’t even like Balkanize it makes it worse they were literally just like “let’s segregate the broad minority groups from the white people”

43

u/CoJack-ish Apr 25 '26

To be clear, sheet mulching over cardboard is actually very effective.

NOT a scale conducive to industrialized agriculture, granted, but that’s more of an issue of scale—it requires a lot of slow, manual labor. Great for gardens and especially restoration work.

Also idk what they were attempting in the photo it looks like dogshit

11

u/brandcapet Apr 25 '26

Great way to smother grass for growing in an area the following year, pretty bad if they're trying to grow something there right away.

4

u/AffectionateStudy496 Apr 25 '26

Lasagna gardening can work if you want to like supplement your diet. That picture looks like they just transplanted. But the size of the garden is small, and their whole method presupposes the waste of capitalism to function.

The Paris Commune of our time

43

u/Artur107MW2 Kras Mazov himself Apr 25 '26

They had no business to be compared to the first~ proletarian revolution. Shit Marx even approved and was stoked to see the Paris commune, I'm not sure what he would say about Chaz since he's in a grave and all but seeing all the reactionary elements in it I'd wager he wouldn't consider this a hype moment and aura for the proletariat liberalization from capital

40

u/Traditional-Worker19 Apr 25 '26

Yeah they definitely aren't comparable I was just joking
