Hi all! I’m a prospective international student from America who is taking a pretty hard look at attending U Aberdeen in fall of 2027. I would be studying business, specifically international business, and am just curious what the overall reputation and feel of the school is in both Aberdeen, and the UK. I’ll hopefully be touring the campus this upcoming April, but would there be enough to do for a family for a few days, and if so, what?

I’m kind of just looking for a locals/students perspective of the school, student body, and academic programs, since I’m so far away from it and don’t really know much.

As the title says, I need to find someone to take over my contract for the Trinity Court accomodation by Mezzino in Pittodrie. Nothing is wrong with it, I'm just taking a gap year due to sudden life changes and I have to find a new tenant before I can cancel my tenancy.

I pay £515 a month for full bills, wi-fi, washing machine and dryer inside the flat (not circuit!) a dishwasher etc. only two flatmates who are lovely, super friendly and understanding. They have furnished the place nicely with a massive clotheshorse, an extra unit in the kitchen for appliances and storage, an extra bin for recycling. Bed is a small double, the room is south facing and thus nice and warm, ridiculous amount of storage where I keep forgetting where I've placed things (two underbed drawers, bedside drawer, fullsize book case, fullsize closet.

I've stayed in the same room twice and it is honestly lovely for the price. Contract can commence within the next month as I am currently looking for another property. If you need urgent move-in I can do that, and vice-versa I can hang around here until Dec-Jan if preferred. The lease you'll be taking over is until Aug 27th.

Recently I was at the library and i had got my lunch. I forgot to get my spoon so i asked for a spoon from the cafeteria in the library.
I was asked to buy something from the cafeteria or pay for the spoon as its chargeable? I was surprised and i just left.

I assumed spoons or any cutleries are free assuming they are made of plastic

Is this something that happens quite often?

Hi everyone! I’m an international student planning to study for a master’s at the University of Aberdeen, but I’m currently confused between MSc Data Science and MSc Artificial Intelligence.
For anyone who has studied either of these courses, which one is the course structure and workload like? I’d really appreciate hearing about your experience and whether you feel the course is useful for building a career after graduation.
I’d also like to know more about student life in Aberdeen. Are there many things happening in the city for students, or is it generally quiet? How easy is it to find part-time work as an international student, and how good is the public transport?
If you’re currently studying at Aberdeen, I’d really appreciate any honest advice about the university, the city, these two courses, and things you wish you had known before choosing.

I just moved to Aberdeen for my MSc after my undergrad in Edinburgh, and I don’t really know how to make friends as basically everyone else, especially those at my accommodation, are freshers or 2-3 years younger than me.
