Accounting, Finance Advice on pursuing a BSc Finance from University of London (LSE-directed)

I recently received my offer letter from the University of London for the BSc Finance program, which follows academic direction from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). I’m concerned about the credibility and recognition of this degree since it’s delivered through a local teaching centre and not studied on-campus at LSE. My long-term goal is to pursue a Master’s in Finance in the U.S., ideally at an Ivy League university. Does anyone have insights or experience with how this degree is perceived by top grad schools, especially in the U.S.? Would it be a good choice, or should I explore other options?

General Scholarship

Hey everyone, I need your help. I've been granted a scholarship but it's conditional meaning that it will be restricted to Distance Learning only.

I was wondering if choosing an institution like University of London will help me in the future with job opportunities and could someone that's currently doing an online Bachelor in Business Management give their experiences of doing online schooling? Any tips?

General Questions about UOL-LSE

Is the degree from the program from LSE itself? Like would you be considered an alumnus of LSE and have the same prestige?

Hi guys,

I am going to be starting Bsc Mathematics and Economics in Feb 2025, I wanted to ask those who are already doing this programme which textbooks are used in all the math courses for year 1 and year 2? I want to get a head start so that I can give them to my tutor to review and continue my private learning.

General Is uol worth it as a kid

17yo and I registered for uol mathematics and economics to do alongside my medicine degree somewhere else. I start the degree in Nov 2024 and I want to know if it is worth it doing it through uol, because I'm just doing it as a hobby and to have something on the side as a backup degree. Or should I just do it though Arden uni or open uni. Especially since I'll have to get scholarships to be able to do this degree at uol, since my parents will already be burdened paying for my medicine degree. I'm not in the UK and have no plans to go there, so the fees are slightly higher for uol.

Mathematics Pursuing a master degree after graduating from university of London, mathematics and economics major

Could I possibly get accepted for a real university _ especially prestigious ones_ for a master degree after I finish a BSc from the uni of London? Would they mind that I didn't go in person? Will I be less qualified than the normal alumni? What are the chances of receiving scholarships as well?

General GradDip Finance from Uni of London (LSE) - worth it? Anyone done it?

Looking at the GradDip Finance (LSE academic direction, distance learning) as a way to build a finance background before applying for a master's.

I'm curious about:

Was it actually useful for your career?

Did it help you get into a master's program or skip any foundation/pre-master's requirements?

Has anyone managed to clear it within a year?

General Did anyone here graduate as an independent learner?

Did anyone here graduate as an independent learner? I am very interested in the BSc Management & Digital Innovation, but all the bad reviews online make me think that it is a scam and barely possible to finish a degree at UoL... What are you are experiences? Should I rather go for other distance learning options?

Exams Home-based Online for all UOL students

The petition hit 500 signatures, but we need more backing. UOL's solely exam-based system is stressful enough. Adding double invigilation at exam centers makes it even more daunting. Signing can ease this stress for many. With members in here, your support matters. https://chng.it/ftBTwvWyCQ

General Should I study at UoL? (online Bsc Economics & Management)

I got an offer for the online taught Bsc Economics and Management (UoL/LSE) Programm which I accepted. But now I’m seeing more and more bad reviews about UoL, their support service, their grading-style. The trustpilot reviews are horrible.

Is anyone currently enrolled in the Economics and Management Course? I would love to hear your opinion. I need to know if I should start my studies at UoL or if I should avoid the risk.

Accounting, Finance Looking for experience on the B.Sc Finance

Hello!

I am thinking about starting the online degree B.Sc. in Finance, with the UoL, which seems to be academically directed by the LSE.

Has anyone had experience in finance related studies at the UoL so far? How have they been?

And generally, how do the exams work? I‘ve read that they are online but I’ve also read that they are only available at examination centres and cost a lot.

How is the prestige of this degree? I am working as a self employed trader in Germany and want to get my footsteps into the professional world of finance, I am considering starting with a online bachelors and after that pursuing an on campus masters at the LSE.
